Bethania Resorts Athirappilly

Last Saturday we 4 members (myself, my wife, my friend and his wife) came to stay here based on the communication between their sales staff and at that time they sent us some photos of the very clean and tidy room and toilet. When we arrived at Bethania Resort they said they would give us a family suite which included a master bedroom and an extra bed in the hall. But they need 15 minutes for clean the room so we ask the manager Mr. Antony to see the room. Only then we will confirm the room. At the same time my friend asked for common toilet. Then he said that he can use the toilet in the opposite room. Terrible thing is, the bathroom is pathetically maintained, the room is below average, we enter the opposite room, my friend is there after urinating, antony said the opposite room is already confirmed to other guests, and ready to check in.but I saw the same situation in that room dust on the beds in the room too, so we feel very uncomfortable, better to go to some other resort so i informed mr.antony to we are leaving here because there is a huge difference in the photo and the reality.then his face gone rude and he needs 500 rupees for urinated i just wondered and asked him to discount.so he said this is not 'sathram'. Then we all negotiate with him but he behaved very badly to us including our lady members so I refuse to pay so he said he is going to increase the charge to 2000. Otherwise you can't leave here, so I suggested to my friend lets contact the policeThat time antony told us that he has a good relationship with the nearest police station and there is no effect on you and told me to pay 2000 rupees again, he went from office to call his police friends, we waited for him for an hour but he did not come back, then someone at the reception ask to pay 500 and solve the problem.and finally as it was late night we paid the amount and found other accommodation

Worst hospitality. Tried to contact several times for booking a room. But no timely response.

Better stay at some other good resort. Terribly had a very bad experience.staffs were not at all well behaved and cooperative.when tried to contact the owner of the resort, he was Also not interested or bothered. Better avoid stay in this property. I would rate ZERO

Faced very bad experience from the owner of this resort itself. All the way came from Calicut and only after reached at the hotel we came to know that rooms have given to some other family who known to the owner. Faced rude behaviour from the owner and his friend.

Fraud, Worst experience, Terrible place, never recommend to anyone. Staff are cunning, especially the manager Prasad. The guy has no basic manners and is totally not worthy to be in hospitality industry. We nearly escaped from their cheating. Verymuch disappointed. Never go there, they might give away your prebooked rooms to other customers who pay higher at the counter. Unfortunately we chose this sick place for our family newyear gathering, we payed 10k advance in October 22 and was cheated by Prasad who is the manager guy there. When we reached the place they informed us we never have a booking registered for the day and told their staff took away money and ran. Which is never an excuse to be heard at the last moment, they left us with no option leaving 40 people including children stranded up in this worst place. After 4 to 5 hours leaving us in the middle of nowhere those stupids came up with a stay option which we were forced to choose because they left us with no ther option. We nearly got espaced from their cheating. They are fraud, don't go.

I would have given a zero star rating if I had an option. Worst service ever!
Pathetic customer service. We had booked rooms to celebrate NY with 15 families. This was done 3 months in advance and we had already made payments for the same. We reached there only to know that the whole resort was booked out even after giving us confirmation umpteen times. When asked about it, they said it is a mistake from their end and said they could do nothing about it now. 15 families (including elderly and kids) were stranded on the New Year’s Eve. Most of them had flown from Melbourne, Bangalore, Rajasthan, etc to celebrate Ny with family and were left completely stranded. The staff (Prasad-GM and Arun) were really rude and condescending. This resort and the management are absolutely trash! Stay away from them if you can cos they were so keen to get the advance payments sorted and didn’t even bother about the well being

The rooms and washrooms were dirty. Only queen size bed were provided. A family of three can't accomodate on those beds. Bathrooms were not having hot water. However, mentioned but not provided and told us on last moment "ooh the geyser stopped working again". Not satisfied. The exterior are highly impressive but need to work a lot on interiors. Specially rooms.

Actually I and my relatives booked for a night stay.but on arrival we were informed the records of booking is missing.we were given another place and we had to take it avoid if you can

Only good thing is the river flowing one side of the hotel. Remaining everything is bad, poor service, restaurant area very dirty, tables are dirty. Room service very poor. Rooms are not up to the mark. Washroom are in bad shape. No facilities other than towel and water bottle.you have to ask for everything and most of the times things are not available and if available, they will take an hour to give you. Would not recommend.

Fresh nature, pleasant air. Our suite room was quite good except the bathrooms. And stuffs are polite. If you want to have some liquor at night then plz carry it. Here, you will not get any liquor.

Foods are not hygienic at all, we have found insects, hair etc etc in our dinner and breakfast. So be careful before taking food.

Homely food is available, but the room is not fresh, including the bedsheet looks old, and there is no hot water

No room was reserved for online booking, I had paid full amount through Agoda, Still they didn't. Finally they arranged a room in a different property near by which doesn't worth the money paid.

Today we got opportunity to see wildlife too since summer elephant's can be sighted on other shore of river. Sound of river flow and taking a dip in nature stream is the best of experience " service and staff behaviour were good"

I had an Omani guest on 06 August 2022, first impression become very bad impression, very sadly i put here this message to know everyone and the authority to take care of customers. There was no proper welcome, bathroom necessaries are unavailable, waste litter filled with last day's food waste, it means room is not de-infected.

Avarage room and average room service. Location is also not upto a wow type. Could say like budget rooms and budget stys. They are also having wooden cottages which are also just 4 level.

Rooms are good, but this Resort is not for family. Better choose a better resort than this if you're going with family. Food & Services are very worse.

A very nice place to stay worth great ambience. Adjacent to the chalakudy river which makes its beautiful and we could river walk or swim in those fresh waters. A great place for family, friends and official meetings. Had unique wood made cottage as well as other rooms. Food could be better.

The only best thing about the resort is it is beside the flowing river.remaining like services, food taste, rooms are very bad.

Good place to visit at reasonable price range in this surrounding. River view is the advantage! Reduced one rating for water and room service which you cannot expect better here! Being tourist we won't stay at room just spending outside this place not a bad one to book it.

Very poor service of the staff. Had booked 2 rooms. The rooms were really small. Had no intercom. Televisions in the room were not functional and bath rooms are also congested. Overall post COVID the staff and service levels are low during weekends. Had to order for food at 6 pm and had to remind in the restaurant thrice as the food was not delivered till 9: 30 pm. (The promised time was 9 pm). If you are going with family, not at all recommended

One star is just for because of no other options. No hygiene. Delayed food delivery. Lack of amenities. Congested rooms. Not recommended for Families.

It's a good place but room under 2k is less spacious. Food is soo good. The hotel arena also well maintained. You can able to get down at the river flowing from athirappally from the back gate of Hotel.

Nice location near athirampilly waterfalls and river available behind resort. Food options could have been more diverse.

Great staff, resort is situated near the river itself, hence you can hear the sound of river flowing in the night and great view during the day. A great experience overall and food was tasty as well.

It is 2 kms away from Athirapally waterfall. Back side of the resort is the Athirapally river. Room rent comes around 3500 - 4500. Room consists of 2 double coat bed and a bathroom. Bathroom are well equipped and maintained. One of the best facilities providing at this rate. Resort has a canteen within the compound. So you will get the food at any as per your order. 15 - 20 car can be parked at a time within the resort.

Good ambience. But for getting food we have to wait a long time. But good service and customer friendly service.

THE RESORT WAS GOOD. GOOD FOOD AND GOOD SERVICE BY THE STAFF. THE MANAGEMENT SHOULD TAKE SPECIAL CARE OF CLEANLINESS OF THE WASHROOM. IT IS A BEST RESORT. OVERALL IT WAS A GOOD EXPERIENCE STAYING IN THIS RESORT.

Rooms ok for the price. But fan not working. Very few staffs, Will never get food n time. No covid protocol. But the available staff were friendly nd helpful. Plus point. Elephant herd just 20 metres away n the river and many samba dears sighted at night, Can be watched safely

Very nice place for a comfortable stay and relaxation. Near Athirappilli waterfalls. Neat and clean rooms. Like the waterfront area. If you are lucky you can see wild animals here like sambar deer, elephants. Etc here is the best attraction is a wooden cottage. Fully wooden furniture. Great ambience. Have AC and NON AC rooms. Nearby have an Ayurveda centre. Running by resort team. The best chilling place to enjoy. Have conference hall. Well-arranged architecture. Have parking place for customers. Nice

I am writing this review from the resort. The place is very good, hygiene, good to relax, river side, facilities for camp fire and grill (we grilled chicken). The surprise is that we were able to see the wild moose and a herd of elephants nearby. It was a great experience.

I had a great experience at bethania. Overall ill give 5/5. The rooms, overall ambience, the food and the most welcoming staff over there were more than satisfying. Hats off the chef and team. The food served was awesome. Special thanks to Prasad:)

Good budget resort in such a remote place. River side location food and The staffs are very good

Owner requested for a refundable advance and we paid it. We checked with the owner if the amount can be refund if we cancel the reservation and he said yes. Owner is now not picking the calls or watsapp and hasn't refunded the money at all. Very poor customer service.

We booked for our club meet, unfortunately due to the Covid lockdown and government restrictions we were forced to cancel the booking. But getting the refund (30000) it took 9 months after the cancellation. Finally today we received balance 15000 cheque. (That too post dated to 15 of Jan 2021. Very bad and irresponsible attitude towards customer. Not picking the phone calls. So please take extra precautions before making any advance payment. Be warned

Now they have made meditation centre with ayurvedic treatment.
Enchanting campus. Superb. They have made an extension namely "Bathaniya Forrest Villa", at Kannankuzhi, Athirapilly

Best place to have holidays. Very clean and quiet. The rooms are quite spacious and well maintained with alot of privacy and separation. Nce place to enjoy romantic moments.
The food is also good. Athirapally water fall is also at walkable distance.
I enjoyed the trip four years back and was satisfied.

The best service I got. Food was amazing. Friendly staffs. River on the side. Amazing view. Will go again without a second thought.

My two star is just for the hospitality of the staff. Rest of the things are pathetic. Rooms are not well maintained. Bathrooms had a stinking smell. Towels provided for bath was full of smell and stains over it. Bed sheets the same. Coming to food just a normal food. Food they serve in bouffet is of limited quantity. Many parts of the areas are not properly maintained.

The hotel was about 2km from Athirapalli falls via road. The backside of the hotel is Chalakudy river and provides a scenic view with forest on the other side. We even saw a buck (I think) at night. Rooms were clean but a bit small, towels and soap were provided. They have a restaurant - Nadan chicken curry was lip-smacking!

Nice ambience. Stayed in a small double room. Riverview restaurant is a plus point. Can take bath in river.

Location is superb. On backside river is flowing, which adds to the beauty, plus staff is good. Rooms are small but manageable.

We stayed at Bethania one night around the year end vacations. Price was 2000 per night for a.c. Double occupancy room, breakfast was complimentary.

PROS: restaurant is present in house and food is good, ample car parking, they have a exit where you can go and play in the water.this is downstream of the Athirapally water falls and one may even spot a heard of elephants if luck favors.   Note that water play area is present for all the resorts in this line as they are along the downstream flow of the waterfall, so, it really isn't a reason to choose this place.

CONS: rooms are small, 10'x10', this feels even more cramped because of a large single chair, a tea table, bed, large cupboard. The blanket cover was torn and bedsheets could have been cleaner. The intercom is useless as no one picks the call. The geyser was not working, took us ten mins to find a helper from the premises. He resolved the problem by bringing us a bucket of hot water. The AC was not working properly, we checked and found the filters were clogged.

Overall, I don't recommend this place.

Rooms are very small. Food ordered was delayed by more than 1hour. No hot water available even after the geyser is on (requires service). Room ac not effective (requires service)

This is a great resort to stay near athirapally. I highly recommend this resort. The view is simply amazing.

Best place to stay in close approximity to Majestic Athirapally falls. Rooms were clean, And it gives a very good view of river flowing just beside the resort.

A resort in calm and quiet place adjacent to river with parking walkable distance to Athirapally waterfalls. The staff are well mannered. They arrange food for dinner very well

An resort with good ambience and water frontage. The hotel has a decent work force. Better place to visit again.

It's the best place to spent a day, all natural, neat and clean place, a river is the back with mountain view.lot of space to sit and relax for nature lovers. Food is so tasty, healthy and economy. We two family stayed for a night.

Better book and go. Placed in the river bad. U can enjoy an excellent weekend there. Only cons s maintenance. We entered the room and shocked to see poisonous centipede. It's difficult to keep those things out n a wet places like this. But the management should take care of those

1) The location is good. It's just next to the river. Can enjoy the food in the restaurant or sit in the swing and enjoy the water flowing down in the river.

2) Food is good and tasty. Very reasonable rate. In short homely food.

3) Rooms are Okay. Its clean, but the a/c may not work all time due to voltage fluctuations. Same issue with lights too.

If you are booking online, then please make sure to contact the hotel and confirm your booking. Otherwise they may not be aware of your booking.

My God. It's not resort. It's an very average lodge. Very bad restaurant and agressive staff. Atirapilly area lot of small lodges they are using category as resort. Please beware of this kind of resorts
