Blackberry Hills Munnar Nature Resort & Spa

We did not stay at the resort, just used the spa.
The massage was delayed by 45 min and they did not inform us before coming.
The male masseuse was good, but the female masseuse felt unprofessional.
The massage room were not pleasant nor clean, unlike the nice spa lobby.

That place like heaven.really awesome.service really super those staff are like frndly.mind blowing place.

We were amazed at how well and efficiently the place was run. Everything worked like clockwork. Everyone was so nice and professional and helpful, every request we made was addressed in lightning speed. The resort seems to be a bit old and the age does show a little in the rooms, but this was not a problem for us. The view and the service more than made up for this.

To get to our room there were quite a number of steps to climb even after their buggy drop off point, and might be a problem for older guests.

Evening ginger tea was good, the restaurant also was pretty good. Breakfast buffet was great.

Spa was good, but maybe a bit too expensive. Also, they have their own body lotion, shampoo and soap, which are all amazing, and are worth buying.

Added bonus: close to Munnar town and bus drop-off/pick-up point.

Please don't follow the Kunjathaney bison valley route to the property. Please follow the NH 85 via Ramaswamy Headworks Dam to the property.

The place is absolutely beautiful. It’s like living in the clouds. Rooms are spacious and have view of the forest. Very peaceful and pleasant stay. Food is alright, but the service is great. They have bonfire in the evenings.
Definitely recommend this place for a quite weekend away from the city life.

It was only a picture in our mind how the resort would look when we 1st saw the webpages and reviews on the internet of this mini resort. It had all the combinations of a great holiday destination for couples or families when you would just like to be around nature. We took the Cirrus room for the balcony view of the tea plantations and it did not disappoint us at all. Every morning we felt among the clouds opening up to nature's bounty. Far away each morning, we could see the tea leaf pickers and tea factory trucks, a small village of the tea estate and by late evening the whole place would be a star light  landscape.

We two visited on our anniversary in peak of monsoon from 21st-24th July 2023.

Best part about the room: Simple Decoration but well maintained its small details inspite of being so old property. We very much liked the way everyday post room cleaning, the resort staff would make "Beautifully shaped Murals" out of the Bathroom towels. A peacock, a lotus or even Lord Ganesha. Our minds would be refreshed every day we came back from our site seeing trip. Basic amenities were always available and vigilant staff would consider our in-room requests inspite of the incessant rains.

Hornbill restaurant: The staff, the food and the hospitality lived up to its name. Each dish that we took was tasty and as per our taste buds. Quantity was good enough for two of us and dinner evenings were awaited. Due to less visitor in off-season we were lucky to get some made of order dishes likes the fluffy Appam with Egg curry and on a Sunday the buffet was excellent. For me the strawberry juice, the sausage starter and even the south indian dosa were so light and tasty. We also received due attention each day and recommendations on some local dishes. To our surprise the Phulkas we ate were one of the fluffiest eaten in any restaurant!

The Property: I am a nature and bird lover, bird watcher and bird photographer. The fact that I found the property too promoting bird life was itself a happy moment. The restaurant was good example of a mini exhibition of the bird species around the property. I atleast spotted 8-10 types of birds even in the rains including the Greater Racket Tailed Drongo (not mentioned in the resort's own special bird booklet). Due to continuous rains, we missed the in-house Shola trek within the property. But as we walked inside the property with our umbrellas on every day, the views, the experience, the peaceful nature was mesmerising. We missed exploring it to its fullest. Though there are multiple spots to get clicked inside, the best photo opportunities are at the open spot (with Blackberry Label hug between 2 polls) near Hornbill restaurants.

So never miss it!

A absolute nature lover could just spend time inside the property identifying the different plants, flower and insect species.

The recreational room brought out in us our inner childhood with all the board games. Each day before dinner we played atleast one of those games. May be in a season kids wont allow us ;), so it was our time in off season: D

The blackberry hill estate map (painted by hand), the flying architect project, the Sisal Spa (we couldn't experience), the main lobby entrance with Red Buddha in a lotus pond, the buggy ride, the steps leading to the rooms, the plantations and the hospitable staff managing the property were just among the few memorable things we admired and enjoyed to the fullest.

If you are a nature lover, come to this property. It will be in your mind forever!

Surrounded with trees and plants everywhere. Rare birds are common sight here. Apt for the present covid situation. Nicely built spacious rooms and valley facing HORNBILL restaurant everything is good here

Service was great. We can feel that each and every member of service staff tried their best to make sure we had great stay. The resort and cottages were well designed. Prefer this over boxed hotel designs.

Can't describe this place in words, It helped me connect to myself more. The staff, the location, the silence just felt like home with everything I was looking for. Special thanks to Ranjit for the additional information to help me have a better trip.

Happened to visit this beautiful place with our friends for a consultation. We had tasty food from the Hornbill restaurant. Very professional service by all the staffs. We would love to come here again for a vacation.

Came here for the ayurvedic spa which was a lovely experience although the shower afterwards was cold and had no shower gel. We went to the hotel restaurant after which had incredible views and a lovely buggy service taking you there as its far from entrance. The lassi and samosas were delicious and the service friendly. Lots of nature, this hotel has been created in amongst the trees and nature, this is for nature lovers only.

Great experience. Rooms are spacious, neat and clean. View was amazing from room. Staffs are so kind and friendly. Food was delicious and amazing view from the restaurant to the valley. Activities including treking was good. That was a good experience in munnar. I will recommend to everyone looking for a great experience and relaxation. Thank you Blackberry Hills Munnar.

We didn't stay here. We were here to eat at the hornbill restaurant. FANTASTIC views. We even saw a giant Malabar squirrel. The kitchen was closed by the time w went, but the staff made an exception for us. They were extremely polite and the food was yumm!

Went to the restaurant for a meeting, Stunning wooden work, someone with very good aesthetic sense has worked on the property! Well maintained resort

I had a wonderful experience at BB.ppl here are too cool and humble. Especially the food is too good.

They are not give buffet breakfast. Even very small hotels giving good bfast as a complimentory. Rooms and service is good for me. Try to give buffet bfast even if it is only single family in it

Excellent hospitality and beautiful location. We initially planned the stay for 2 days but extended the stay to one more day. I travelled with my toddler during the red alert period in Idukki but didn't face any issues in reaching the resort via kochin from Kollam. The route to the resort is scenic and covered with mist. As soon as we reached the staff welcomed us with a traditional 'Nellikka kashayam' which was very refreshing. They even offered us a complimentary upgrade and requested us to choose after viewing the room categories. The resort has ample space and there was only one more family staying in the resort in addition to us. We were taken down in the buggy to view the rooms which my toddler thoroughly enjoyed. We stuck with our initial choice of 'Nimbus Category' room which doesn't have a balcony but has an open sit-out facing the hills and bathtub. Gives the feel of an independent cottage, though on the ground floor. The view is partially covered with tree branches but few steps and the you get an unrestricted valley view. The tub was spotlessly clean but the shower enclosure was old. Hot water is not a problem as water heater is solar powered and available 24*7. My toddler spend most of her time playing in the tub and watching the birds and butterflies visiting the property. On request they provide us bathroom slippers and additional floor mats for bathroom. They have 4 lovely rescue dogs on the premises who runs around in the early mornings. Every morning we walk down to their 'Hornbill restaurant' to enjoy a cup of tea and bask in the morning sunlight and unmatched views. The food menu is limited but feel free to ask the chef for specials. They were always ready to customize the meal for my toddler. Plus they arranged drinks on request. The complimentary breakfast had limited choice but was prepared freshly on request. They didn't have a buffet breakfast when we travelled due to limited occupancy. We wished the breakfast could have had more variations during the stay but definitely what they serve is very tasty. Food pricing is reasonable and not over-priced (comparable to other hotels in Munnar as we travel often). We also opted for the SPA and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. SPA again is very reasonably priced. You can ask for the SPA menu and price even before doing the booking. Also you get excellent discounts when you book a room directly with the property and can change the dates though not refundable. Princy from the travel desk made the booking a smooth experience. The lady from the front desk (Tintu) and manager Madan and all other staff was always ready to help us. They also have a trekking trail named 'SHOLA trek' down hill but we didn't get a chance to explore the same. Also beware of little leeches on the grass, a pinch of salt and they are gone for good:). The only feedback for the management is to introduce a kids play area and add more items to the food menu.
Note: Recommend this offbeat stay to everyone for the beautiful valley view, nature stay, quality SPA, hospitality and space to move around.

Stay and rooms are very comfort stafs are friendly and helpfull but rooms were in the deep walking up and down was difficult should provide slippers inside the rooms as floors are very cold bathrooms are always wet buying food inside the hotel is very expensive for one kerela poratta they charge 30 rs

Best ever resort in munnar. This is the second time we are staying here in blackberry hills. If you are looking for a calm and peaceful environment with maximum privacy this resort is the first choice in munnar. The view is spectacular. The nature is so close to you as you can experience minute changes in nature. Right from the reception desk to the suites all the satffs were extremely helpful. Sanal, madan, ranjith from the reception desk; shanu and raveendranath from the restaurant and spa were extremely helpful and friendly. All the staffs have pleasent face all the time and ready to help at anytime. The security person was also really helpful. I Will definitely suggest this place to anyone who plans to visit munnar and i will come back for sure. Beautiful place.

Beautiful place, very silent and calm area. Awesome views from common area and some rooms (only). Friendly and helpful staff. Everything except food was wonderful. Food was kinda bad. Everything from ghee roast to even watermelon had a bitter taste.
Property has lot of space to explore including a small private trekking trail. Family friendly and good facilities also.

A very nice stay in Munnar town, this resort offers cottages in different price ranges depending on the balcony view. You need to go on a buggy to get to the cottages. The rooms are very spacious with all basic amenities. The view from the restaurant is really good. You can see the tea plantations and hills from here. There is also a steep narrow trek to the tea plantations that you can take, but beware of leeches during the monsoon. The restaurant timing is 24/7 and the cost is a little on the higher side. The breakfast buffet was very tasty and included a live counter where you can get eggs of your choice and different varieties of dosas. The staff is helpful and polite. Cycles are available so you can go around the property and explore the place. There is ample parking space. Wifi connectivity is available but a little poor if you want to work from here. Overall, a very nice place and highly recommended! Would also like to mention one of the staffs, Sanal, who was especially helpful and made sure that the stay was comfortable and hassle free.

We went during mid October when there was red alert in Idduki district. We were the only ones in the whole resort. The staff was wonderful, always ready to help you through your day! My only concern was the water dripping in the bathroom ceiling and cold shower (as they use solar system which helps heat water, they forgot that it's rainy weather and hence the cold water which they sorted later). My only feedback is attention to detail is soo important when you're in the hospitality industry.

Awesome place  to stay.   spacious and beautiful room with  all amenities.plantation View, attukal waterfall view and mountain view from both room and balcony was mindblowing.
There all lots of  birds and butterflies and the bird singing, cool breeze and flying fog gave me great vibes and satisfaction. It was a very nice experience.

It is a must visit and stay in munnar.location of the resort is very near to munnar town. So it was very easy to access almost all the tourist places in munnar.

Its a nice resort, but little bit of expensive even its not on season time. (There are other resort which provides the same features with low rates) The place is very hygienic, neat and clean. There are balcony which would have a nice scenaries but some trees just infront of it, is blocking the views. But it would have been a nice view if it not there (like nandhi hills in morning, not exactly but like that view)
The breakfast is too good. Very tasty. Its a buffet which has 5 or 6 varieties. And we can have breakfast with a beautiful view.
The resort is providing a self trucking (included in the package) its a good experience, but there were lots of leaches. So need to take a precaution before trucking.

If you are looking for a space to hide from all your terrible life structure Black berry munnar is the perfect find. Its near to Pothamedu view point so the view from the property is heavenly. There is nothing to harm guest's peace of mind here.only unknown birds songs we can listen every part of the resort. Its truly eco friendly. Morning and evening view of misty mountains, tea estates, the smell of natural herbs everywhere. Restaurant serves superb menu. Rooms are so spacious and we'll furnished. Special mention to washroom arrangements. Truly natural herbal products and it's fragrance won't leave us after leaving blackberry.
Mr. Madan the all rounder ensures every guest s happy n satisfied. Great salute to the security people because the way they treat us from the gate till our departure Tata bye bye fills heart. You can't find a staff without happy face here. We felt extreme and overwhelming hospitality here compared to other branded hotels. They have a concept and maintaining it well. Don't know the name of other staffs but all deserves appreciation.

This place is absolutely gorgeous.

'Hidden gem' is a phrase that's thrown around a lot, but in this case, it's absolutely on point.

The food at Hornbill was some of the best I've had in Kerala. The service and hospitality were top-notch. They turned our mundane forage for food into a memorable experience.

It doesn't hurt that the backdrop to your dining experience is the most glorious view of the Kannan Devan hills.

Really good place to spend with family. Very beautiful resort that close to nature. Wood furnished interior gives an extra beauty to the rooms and resort. They provide herbal shampoo and natural handmade soap for making us feel fresh after a long journey. Affordable rate with breakfast included. Attached restaurant named Hornbill is there to have tasty foods. Staffs are really friendly and ready to serve. The resort is very nature friendly and stays on the top of a hill and gives picturesque beauty of the tea valley

Have been to this beautiful place during december vacation. Enjoyed every bit with awsome ambiance and serene atmosphere. Staffs were at seevice always and guided us with all the info.

We visited the resort during mid January 2021 and had the best experience enjoying the nature, spa and other activities. The staffs and management were really good and I felt safe as they took the COVID protocol also seriously. I would really suggest this resort to all those who want to get out of their busy work schedule and have some time for yourself and family.

I had visited Blackberry Hills Munnar with my friends last January and it turned out to be the best choice. It was such a blissful experience waking up wonderstruck to one spectacular view. The stay was soo cozy and comfortable and the service is really commendable. The rooms were very neatly maintained. And could go on forever talking about the food at the restaurant! Soo delicious it was. We had one really great time and if anybody's planning to visit Munnar, Blackberry Hills would never be a disappointment.

My mother and I were spending a couple of days celebrating her 70th birthday and it was wonderful. Everyone at the Blackberry hills was just lovely to her. We made special memories. As always, thank you. What a beautiful environment you get to work in every day…. The climate, the resort, and specially people all make it so very special.

My wife and I went for our second anniversary. From the moment we arrived we loved every second of our stay. The rooms in the resort was remarkably clean and had excellent view from the room with a balcony and all the staff are friendly. We did couple spa and it was the best spa experience which we had. Overall it was a very memorable experience and will recommend very high. It's a must visit resort located in Munnar.

It is an amazing place, beautifully located on Munnar hills, Surrounded by plants and trees. Where all the different birds visit regularly, like you are talking to them.
The food in their restaurant is very tasty.
The staff is super simple, with excellent service.
They have spa for both Female and Male.
Mountain biking, archery, Table Tennis, carom are the other activities that can e done in the resort.

Blackberry hills was an outstanding resort which is perfectly located.friendly staffs who go above and beyond to make sure you have the best time. And food was very delicious and served very well. I would highly recommend this resort to friends.

It's a very beautiful resort. Highly recommended if you are okay to loose your pocket. You can enjoy in house trek and view points along with spa and other services.

Food is not at all recommended. Trust me it looks good but I would recommend to explore some other options.

Unforgettable, pure bliss, awsome rooms and views the rooms were very neat and clean, the attitude towards guests were very mind blowing, used spa and was very good and excellent. The spot view was much impressing.

Blackberry hills was an amazing resort and located in the heart of the valley. We can feel the nature to the core. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Food was so delicious. Really want to visit again.

Never ever leave a negative review online about this place if you are not courageous! They will threaten you. I left a review about this place a few days back as the CEO didn’t get back to me after promising me to do so. And then started threatening by email. And the most interesting part is it’s CEO himself threatening the customers. I am more than happy to share the screenshots of the emails that we both send if anyone need

One of the best resort I have visited till now. The receptionists were really helpful and friendly. Great staff who knew how to serve the customer. The room was well equipped and the service was excellent. From the balcony, I could view the valley and feel the cool breeze. The location of our room was absolutely perfect. It's a very good place to relax and chill. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment. Excellent hospitality. The staff are very supportive and I really appreciate for the extra room which was given to us for free. The food was awesome and the price is reasonable. Our stay at the resort was just half day and one night. We really regret that we left resort early morning as we had to rush to Eravikulam National Park. Once again a great thanks to all of the staff at Blackberry Hills for provided us a wonderful stay. I would surely visit again.
