Bodhi Beach House Kannur

Absolutely blissful experience - happened to chance upon this property when on a solo bike ride - arrived when it was pouring! Das who runs this place is an amazing guy and is very keen to show you around…had great conversations and was able to truly sit back and relax at this place; the beach is very close and the beach itself is a hidden gem! Food was amazing too with well prepared home meals. Looking forward to visit the place again for a longish work holiday!

I thank bodhi beach house for making our vacation such a memorable one, the host is simply awesome he goess the extra mile to make us feel comfortable, and is so keen to show us around the place. We enjoyed the short trek to a cave temple and literally enjoyed the beach. We travelled with our pet and it was such a comfortable stay even with a dog. The whole place is very much pet friendly. The food provided at bodhi is authentic and flavourful food of the local region, loved it. If you are looking fir a quiet beach side holiday, then Bodhi Beach house is your go to place. Very quite and cosy stay! Loved every bit of it. Hidden beside a beach. Thw caretaker Sushil is also very lovely guy who helped us find all the necessary things in Kannur.

One of the few good pet friendly places. Very close to the beach, which is also pretty clean and private so more beach time for family and pets without worrying too much.
Just let them off leash and enjoy.

A simple and relaxed stay!
Stayed here with family and parents. We were looking for a property close to the beach and decided to go ahead based on its review. Overall I would rate the experience 4/5. For detailed review continue to read below:
Place:
From the beach towards mainland, the sequence is sea- beach- road- an open compound and then the property. So technically not by the beach but an easy walk of 80 odd meter will get you there, hence easy for a stroll at midnight too. The beach is clean and travelers are requested to leave it that way!
Food:
Meals are prepared by someone next to the property. It is home food and hence simple and basic. I felt food could have been better
Rooms:
Very clean, washed and clean linen and the painting of the walls were done recently so we felt the place was pretty tidy.
Ambience:
The place is simple, but some personal touches add charm to it. Do not expect luxury, but a simple minimalist albeit pretty place.
Activities:
Sushil, who hosted us managed the property and has his hands full. He also takes you on small walks and local sightseeing. This region has too many spots to explore so you can plan your day and no of days stay depending on what you would like to do. We had a good walk one of the mornings where we saw some pristine beaches, rock temple and local fishermen out on their tasks early morning.
Overall: From the price point, attention given to guest and location of the place I would grade it 4/5. Sushil will not hesitate in showing other properties and saying their uniqueness around the vicinity on his walk on the beach which I appreciated.
An ideal place for a simple and relaxed holiday, the homely way without any frills but worth the time and money!

Bodhi beach house one of the best place we stayed which had a good ambiance. This property is at Kizhunna beach kannur which located away from the popular crowded beaches in Kannur kind of off beat location. Beach is at nearly 80 m (or 2 mins walk) from the stay.
Rooms are clean and maintained. Sushil was good friendly caring hosts and he also guided us. We enjoyed local food at stay, it was simple and tasty. We stayed 2nights, but we would wish to have longer stay. Great place and nice memories.

Simple and beautiful. This is a no-frills place that lets you live like a local, with sand in your feet, the sound of the waves through the night and excellent food. Drinking water comes in glass bottles that are refilled every time. Loved that. The beach is a hop, skip and jump. Tariff could be a tad less.

A tastefully done cottage located 100 meters from one of the cleanest and most secluded beaches in India. The cottage has a bohemian vibe, surrounded by a thicket of dense trees. The meals are prepared in authentic Kerelan style and are reasonably priced. Sushil was very helpful all throughout and all our requests were taken care of. But more than anything else, go for the Kizhunna beach. It was one of our trip highlights!

Kannur@Kerala “The Bodhi Beach House” is a perfect blended place which is surrounded by beautiful nature, a few steps away from kizhunna beach and the foremost best part is Mr Sushil Das. Whose hospitality is remarkable and memorable. Our family visit was for 2 nights and 3 days at Bodhi beach house where we were served with Kerala exquisite home cooked dishes. When it comes to the rooms, were homely and well maintained. Mr. Sushil’s Tour Guidance made our trip easier to complete the stretch of kannur site seeing including in choosing the best restaurants.
Best part: The waves of sea shore during the night was symphonious.
My little kid (4 years old) still reminds us the Bodhi beach house to re-visit.

Finally, I would like to thank Mr Sushil for making our visit so special.

This is absolute heaven for beach lovers.
The beach is just a min away and is truly clean and quite isolated.
We went here for my dog's 5th birthday and he truly had a blast running around in the beach.
Susheel the host was very nice and hospitable and made us feel at home. He even gave me his bottle of pickles cuz i said i liked it haha.
The food was delicious and homely as it's prepared by a lady who stays next door. But the vegeterian options are quite limited.
The rooms are clean and well maintained.
Even the area around the beach house is well maintained and gives off beautiful "bodhi" vibes haha.
If you are looking for a relaxing, quite beach holiday, this place is for you.

I'm Amal, a holiday packager. I and my friends went to Bodhi for a business meeting. We need a peaceful place to discuss.when I enter bodhi I don't even know but after an hour we realise this place is an El Dorado of Peace. Das (Sushil) is the soul of Bodhi, His thoughts, ideas and feelings are reflected there. All meals are homely and delicious. It's a heavenly space. Highly recommended for the people who looking for Peace ️

Bodhi beach house is an amazing & a cozy place to stay. I stayed here for a week & had an amazing experience. I received good hospitality & service from the host (Sushil). This beach house is situated at a peaceful place where at night, the waves of the seashore would be audible very close to ur room & they have ample amount of space to walk or roam around inside. I would recommend this place to those who love beach. The ‘location’ of this beach-house plus the ‘food’ & ‘greenery’ over there is truly worth staying for a longer period. They have maintained the outer area/lawn very well that I was mesmerised at the pathway to the entrance. Kizhunna Beach is just 3-5 mins walkable distance from the room. It’s a home away from home as it is calm and relaxing. Overall my stay was remarkable & I had some breath taking moments at the beach. All thanks to Sushil & Naveen to make me feel good/comfortable throughout my stay.

As this property is located away from the popular crowded beaches in Kannur, it is advisable to follow Kizhunna beach view on map for a better road than Bodhi beach house.

Once I reached Kizhunna beach view, Sushil was there to guide me to park my vehicle and escort us to the Bodhi beach house.

As we arrived in the evening, we quickly dumped our luggage in the assigned room and rushed to see the sunset. Kizhunna beach is almost like a private beach for Bodhi beach house as there is just a narrow lane that seperates the two. All you hear here is the sound of roaring waves. There is no trash thrown around, crowd or shops to disturb your peaceful holiday.

But, during the dusk time it is good to be either indoors or apply some odomos mosquito repellent if you are particular to sip on your coffee sitting on one of those benches beneath the many trees that provide a natural shade during the daytime. Early in the morning, Sushil accompanied us for a morning walk. I watched the fishermen return to the shores with their fresh catch, while my kids took a dip in the water.

If you inform them in advance, a lady next door makes simple Kerala food. If cooking food during your holiday excites you then they have a kitchen too.
I saw a washing machine too, probably they offer laundry service for long staying guests.

In short, Bodhi beach house is a lovely place for anyone who is seeking a peaceful workation destination or for anyone who just want to chillout on the beach.

One of the best places (or maybe the best) we visited on our trip to South India. Simple but clean rooms. Amazing location, nice and quiet, close to the beach. Sushil and Naveen are caring and friendy hosts. We stayed 3 nights, but we would like to have stayed longer. Perfect place to unwind near the beach.

First thing to point out it's PET FRIENDLY mind it not Pet tolerant.absolutely yes.
It's not exactly beach facing per say but the beach is just two steps away. It's not a private beach but it's clean, less crowded and perfect for an early morning dip.
The entire property is managed by the owners there are no specific caretakers as such. But they manage pretty well.
Food is prepared by a home maker and she makes amazing food. Pure kerela cuisine and we could taste 7 different breakfasts for 7 days. It's absolutely lite on the stomach and good as per the climate.
We met Sushil one of the owners and he is a true charmer. It was a great stay over all. Airtel and Jio give pretty decent networks so ideal place for a workation.

The place is serene and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay at Bodhi beach house. The place is less crowded so the beach is very clean and clear.

Sushil arranged for kayaking which is once in life time experience. Chinnu the friendly dog is always around to safeguard

First of all, a great thanks to Sushil das…. He’s super friendly and always has a smile on his face. The location is serene and the beach nearby is pristine. The beach which is just few meters away from the room is the cleanest and most amazing beach we came across in Kannur. The rooms are very decent with hot water supply anytime…. Maintained well by Sushil. He’s always there for your assistance and he laid out our travel itinerary for the time we stayed there and was absolutely perfect. The food is something which has to get a major mention, home cooked Kerala cuisine…. Just amazing! Thanks a lot Sushil for making our stay an amazing stay)

If you want peace of mind, quite yet homely atmosphere and a beach for your own this is the place to be. The host Sushil is extremely polite and helpful. Rooms are neat and clean. There is kitchen facilities for your use in case one wants to cook. I came for a week and ended spending two weeks there and planning for longer stay there. Best place in kannur.

Wow! Great place. You found a real corner of paradise there. Peacefull, clean, comfortable. Actually nothing Is missing. The beach Is just few steps away and you can relax on the shadow of native vegetation in front of your room.
The food Will be tasty and homecooked, customized just for you (we don't eat spicy food so we asked and She did a perfect job).

Very nice place to enjoy with friends and family members. Infact my friend suffered seviour abdominal pain while this trip and they supported a lot even at late night hours. They arranged to take us to hospital two three times thanks Dass ji. We miss you & your place. We will come back once again,

Best place to explore Kannur. We stayed here for 3days and the stay was awesome with good sea food and Malabar biriyani.

Bodhi was revelation to me. It was like designing your own stay. Solitude, Serenity and simplicity are very small words to describe but it was an immense experience in practical. Inspirations were all around. Writing poetry to indulging in any creative pursuit is possible at Bodhi. Some times STAR hotels gets you awestruck but this mid range, quaint little habitat is pure joy. Spending value time for yourself at a picturesque place is what you can definitely get here. Due to my tight schedule I couldn't do justice to this place. But I will return and make most of it. Host is a nice dude, accommodating and very passionate about hospitality. Ignore small things, you get a big picture as big and as fascinating SUNSET over Arabian Sea. Thumbs up.
