This is a must visit if you're visiting Munnar. A lovely environment and very friendly staff with extremely wonderful rooms!

Superb luxury villa, The good thing is that they are taking only one booking at a time, so the privacy is guaranteed the entire resort is yours. Location, service and food all are amazing. The glass room is a highlight here. You can explore everything in Vattavada, the resort is providing multiple packages including night wildlife safari, sight seeing, wildlife trekking, nature walk (hard trekking), farm visit, off road jeep safari etc.
I would like to visit this place again.

Me and my husband are travel freaks.we keep travelling every now and then but I would like to say this small 5 day trip of ours to Kerala was made memorable in all ways by CASTILO DE WOODS and it’s owners.it’s a home away from home in true sense.kudos to the owners who have preserved the property with its old charm.really it’s a heritage property and staying there is like enjoying Kerala culture and home in it’s true sense.caretaker GUNA was amazing both in hospitality and cooking.he made us try all Kerala delicacies in their true taste.last but not the least all thanks to AKHIL for making arrangements for all our treks both Maashipulimala and trek to Shola national park.it was all in all looking at the MUNNAR beyond tea gardens and famous points.this trip of ours was made memorable in real sense by AKHIL.so again thank you for being a great host.

It was a family trip and the location food and rooms everything was just awesome. Very much friendly host I would highly recommend this to my friends and family. It's one of a kind, go stay there and enjoy your mountain view and offbeat experience.

Stay and food was awesome. Service also appreciable. Thanks to the whole team. Only suggestion is the road towards the resort need to be fixed. Kindly ask suggestions from nearest resort owners and please do combined contribution to fix the issue.

This place is located away from Munnar city hustle and bustle, perfect gate away. Recommended - This place is for people who love nature, want to relax and send some quality time with family.

Cons:
Required more improvement in last 100 meters road to reach resort compound (travelling by sedan type cars). If you are using SUV’s you don’t have to worry.

What a great service we received.bathroom, toilet, blankets, kitchen space, everything was so neat and hygienic.higly professional service, and especially Mr Jose, who was so loving and took care of all our needs. Loved this place. Old world charm with a touch of modernity. Very clean and well maintained, good staff. Good homemade breakfast. Didn't feel like I'm staying at a resort. Felt so much like home. Been referring to all my friends and relatives. Will always stay here whenever I'm in Munnar

Wonderful place to spend your holidays. One of the best and affordable stays in the region with a beautiful " illam" concept. There are 3 bedrooms in total and one double bedroom. If you are taking the whole property it would cost 16500 for 8ppl. And extra beds would cost 750/person. View from the cottage is is just serene. And would definitely help have a relaxing stay. The caretaker Mr Jose is a very kind and helping person. Very genuine and gives updates on the nearby areas where we can visit. It's a 1 acre property with good and safe parking for your vehicle's which is rare in other stays around. 2-3 kms to strawberry farms & 12 kms to chilanthiar waterfalls. Highly recommend to consider when you are visiting vattavada.

Had an awesome time at Castillo de woods @ Vattavada. The host Mr. Jose was really very helpful and energetic throughout our stay. He treated us outstandingly well. Truly impressed with his efforts and assistance for each and everything. The resort was simply mindblowing from its top quality wooden construction, toilet/bathroom quality, cleanliness, ample parking space for 2-3 cars and 5-10 bikes, awesome view from the resort, a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, antique pieces decorating the resorts, etc.to name a few. Definitely a place to stay on multiple occasions. 100% recommended for all those who visit Vattavada. Thank you Mr. Jose for all your help and assistance during our short stay at your resort.

Beautiful and calm place. Especially the old Kerala 'illam' concept on the top of vattavada, munnar should really be appreciated. Last year When i visited, there was an issue, as the path up to the resort was under construction but, this time after the construction IT WAS MUCH MORE EASIER AS CARS COULD REACH UP! Good hospitality too.

It's a beautiful resort and have a traditional outlook at all. The outside views are really amazing and nice, filled with natural beauty. And the resort provides satisfactory services. Just loved it.

This is a great place to stay. Spotlessly clean, in a very quiet and peaceful location. We would like to mention that every detail and every corner of the interiors and exteriors are built with love and perfect taste. The owners are very nice people with a gentle character of hospitality. The locally sourced breakfast was impeccable. This may have been the first time we stayed here, it certainly won't be the last!

Most beautiful and relaxing stay. I loved every minute in this excellent villa. The resort is amazing and the surroundings are just really serene and tranquil! We had a really nice peaceful time. The staff were friendly and really good service as well. Everything you could wish for! Highly recommend to anyone to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing break.

Amazing place. The view is spectacular. I couldn't ask for a better place. There's WiFi available. Commuting to the place is easy. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. Do contact them earlier and check if booking is available.

It's 30km away from Munnar. Per head it's 1800 with one night and morning. A house of 3 rooms and nice view point.

Good ambience, well maintained, great service, staffs are so friendly, enjoyed a lot there, especially the peacefull atmosphere, worthy packages, all should go for it.

Comfortable stay for families and couples.
It is a wooden castle.
Extreme cool atmosphere.

First the good parts -
1. The house is located in a very beautiful place as well as the house.
2. The house is very nicely decorated giving the ambience of a traditional Kerala house.
Now the not so good -
1. The food was very costly (Lunch and Dinner, breakfast was included). We initially planned to eat outside, but after reaching there we realized there is not much good options as the place is a bit remote.
2. For a 4 bedroom house, we were surprised that there is no living room.
3. Though the staff were friendly, the arranged Jeep trip was a bit oversold. First we could have gone in our vehicle, second the view from the trip was not much different from the home itself, third the strawberry farm didn't have any strawberries.
4. The hot water supply didn't have any pressure and was very slow to the extent that shower doesn't work with hot water.

Please note that the place is more than an hour from the munnar town. Thought it didn't affect us much, fourth bedroom is in a different building with kitchen and dining area from the main building which houses three bedrooms.

The house and the view from the house was excellent!

No parking facility available. Parking is on road at own risk.

We had a bad experiance due to the car parked on road side. Aftr vecating when we came down to the car, the wiper was damaged by someone.

Also we need to pay extra for kitchen facilities and music system.

Nice place for a trip of 10people, cost is reasonable, nic hospitality.
Ambiance is very good.
Camp fire and grilling facility is avialable.
