Chef King

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Chef King Restaurant for breakfast, and while there were some highlights, there were also a few disappointing aspects that need improvement.

Starting with the positives, the food at Chef King Restaurant generally met our expectations. The Appam was cooked to perfection, fluffy and delicate, while the accompanying Egg Roast had a rich and flavorful taste. The Beef Roast and Chicken Sandwich were also satisfying and lived up to their respective descriptions. It is evident that the culinary team possesses skill and expertise in preparing these dishes.

However, the experience took a downturn when it came to the coffee we ordered. Sadly, it was overly sweet to the point that it felt like they were trying to compensate for something. It left a lingering artificial aftertaste that was quite off-putting. It would be beneficial for Chef King Restaurant to reevaluate their coffee preparation methods and adjust the sweetness level to cater to a wider range of preferences.

Another aspect that requires attention is the language proficiency of the service staff. While it is understandable that not all staff members may be fluent in the local language, it would greatly enhance the dining experience if they could communicate effectively with the customers. Clear communication helps in understanding specific dietary requirements and enables guests to make informed choices. It would be advisable for Chef King Restaurant to invest in language training for their staff to bridge this gap.

Additionally, cleanliness was not up to the mark during our visit. A thorough and regular cleaning routine is crucial in maintaining a hygienic environment for guests. Improving cleanliness standards will undoubtedly elevate the overall dining experience and leave a positive impression on patrons.

In conclusion, Chef King Restaurant provides a mixed dining experience. While the food, such as the Appam, Egg Roast, Beef Roast, and Chicken Sandwich, meets expectations and showcases the culinary expertise of the kitchen, there are areas that require improvement. The overly sweet coffee, language proficiency of the service staff, and cleanliness standards all detract from an otherwise pleasant experience. With some attention and refinement in these aspects, Chef King Restaurant has the potential to deliver an even more enjoyable and satisfying dining experience.

After a very long time went here to see how things are and ther was no surprise every old dish which has flavoured my taste buds years ago was intact. Had good food, soup (french onion) one of my favourite here.
The place has been renovated and some new dishes have been added. Did not try any of those just went with the old menu I was familiar.
For a Sunday there was no rush and we sat outside. Service was good. Since it's inside BJN parking was not an issue.

They offer both indoor and outdoor seats,  as well as a separate air-conditioned dining space. Ordered Parotta,  Beef Roast,  and Chicken Hot and Sour Soup; it was alright. Also decent was the service.

In my view this spot is underrated despite been around for 20+ years. The wait time is 15+ minutes but you will appreciate the flavour and freshness of the food when you start eating. For people looking for non-spicy options I'd recommend their sliced beef with vegetables. The premises, although not quite modern, has a unique charm to it in the evenings / late night so dinner time is the best time for a visit.

Worst service ever got in my life from a restaurant. No enough staffs are there to serve. High price compared to the stuff

Had mutton biryani last year it was delicious.so ordered mutton biryani again and it was totally disappointing.

Chef king is located in Bishop Jerome Nagar Shoping complex at Kollam. It is functioning in this location for more than two decades. Recently it was renovated. It is one of the good hotels in Kollam.

Had 2 fried rice (mixed) from there one was Schezwan and one was normal the rice wasn't good and even there weren't much fillings in the the fried rice. Bought one chilly chicken boneless that was as well not worth the deal so altogether the experience was bad. Even the lime water and lime soda didn't taste good

Food served was of good quality & quantity. Soup was tasty. Porotta was good. Tandoori felt average to me. Beef varatiyathu was? Noodles also tasted good & heavy. Porotta with Beef varatiyathu was perfect combination
Good customer service also, but when it comes to dine in experience i would say not to choose upstairs. I chose there new A/c dining area and i felt it as an absolutely boring place to have food with friends or family, so i would recommend choosing there outdoor area.

Worst food. Noodles were ordered but was having no chinese flavour. Red pepper was put all over Schezwan noodles instead of sauces. It took 45 minutes to serve food

In this restaurant food was really good. But customers service is very bad. That food served boy is good behavior. But the cashier lady (thulasi) is not customer friendly.rude behavior. She was speaking like insulting. I am not satisfied with that behavior. But the food was nice.

Chef King is an all time favourite of mine. Many new eateries come and go but Chef King stands high in the middle of town with the same old delicious food and great service.

The new A/C restaurant upstairs is very good for families.

Ambience and all is good. But we had to wait for almost an hour after ordering orange juice a few days back. Now we've ordered two icecream scoops and tea but didn't get it even though we waited so long. We cancelled the order. Slow service and low number of staffs.

Am great fan of their porotta. Their porotta is must try with beef pepper roast.
Chicken fry also too good.
Goos dine in experience.
Havent tried their rice items. Maybe next time. Affordable pricing with good qty

New renovated building with Upstairs. Now spacious. Singapore parotta is still there. Not excited dishes are there.

I have tried noodles and chicken 65.
Both are good and enough quantity. But the cost is on the higher side.

It was one of the worst experiences. The food was not at all good and they are charging exorbitant rate, even was not an ac restuarant

Right now I'm having tea from here n there was no sugar in it. Completely dissatisfied taste of tea. Spoiled it.

Hated restaurant. I ordered two sharjah shake. It is waste one and tastless. And that dump one rate is 250 rs. And their services also very slowly

Food was tasty but quantity compared to the rate was not much. Tried Dragon chicken, Fried rice and porota. Restaurant has been modified in to a better seating area compared to the old days. Separate AC hall available on first floor as well as non AC hall also available on first floor. Ground floor has separate outdoor seatings. Good place for a family dine-in and nice services by the staffs.

It is a nice coffee shop and a restaurant as well. It's spacious enough to serve a good number of people.food quality is good too.

Went for a light bite here. They have renewed the old setup. The new place feels good in ambience. They have outside seating along with inside seating and separate ac dining area as well. Ordered chicken lollipop. It was ok. The chill garlic sauce that accompanied chicken lollipop was really good. The service was also decent. All the options on the menu were not available. Will give another review sometime when I taste more food from here

One of the oldest and best restaurant in Kollam. Their chicken fried rice is a must try one. I remember eating the food of the same taste about 15 years back when I was studying in Kollam
