It was a homely place to stay, very clean pool, well maintained garden and surroundings, beautiful view of the ocean. Loved the stay.

Awesome place to hang out with. A quick update.the drive ur scooty wearing helmet if the. Camera caught. Or else u would have a chalan or a police officer in front of your hotel or home

The place is a great place to stay with your friends and family and it's quite good and budget friendly and you can have a great view on the opposite so you can watch amazing sunsets from there

We can expect a decent stay with sea View rooms and nice pool. I suggest bachelor's who likes to enjoy a day here. Sea view is like gem and pool is well maintained. Food was average and not warm enough when we received it at rooms.

Best in class and price at resort with a descent pool and at a good location. Local delicacies are very near and enjoy the stunning view of the buch from ur balcony

We wanted to visit Cherai Beach, since it was a 3 day stay we also wanted to stay nearby we selected this resort and are more than happy to have stayed here to be more precise we were satisfied we chose this resort out of many. This residency is just on the Cherai Beach road. They had a focus light towards the beach so the area opposite this resort is lighted even in the night till 10 pm so we were spending time playing till then. It is normal that the public will also visit (only during daytime) so it is advisable to stay and enjoy the stay during weekdays if it is season time (only to avoid the crowd). The beach and the resort is safe. We were a group of 6 ; 2 kids included. There's a restaurant by the name Lilliput which was pretty good, but way costly, walkable from the resort (we just wanted to try the food here), otherwise the homemade food they served in the resort was light for the stomach also tastier. We should definitely thank the hosts (the couple who run the resort) they were understanding and helpful ; they made our stay even more happier and a memorable one with their smile and the way they treated and greeted us. To speak of the rooms, bathroom and the pool, they were super neat taking into account the beach sand that comes in with us. Over all we just had our time there.

OMG! This Cherai Beach Residency has all my heart! I love the people, the view, the food, the ambience and the service everything is just perfect. There are so many resorts but never like this cherai beach residency. Anyone looking for family time and in privacy i can tell you this is 100% worth. Rooms are super clean and maintained well. If you are taking your kids, you have a small play area which is so cute. We had 2 day night stay and enjoyed to the fullest. Also when we vacated i forgot my tripod there and Mr & Mrs. Poly were so sweet they called me and informed that i forgot my tripod and asked for my address to courier it, we are so thankful to them. I totally recommend this place. Worth for the price and its reasonable.

Rooms are comfortable for 2 people. We can get one extra bed if required.

Beach is easily accessible and private kind of, can spend time in beach without other outside tourist.

I stayed in Cherai Beach Residency for a night, the evening spent there would remain in my heart forever. The hotel is beach facing and having basic facilities but they always try to serve the guest with every effort possible, though they do not have a restaurant facility but they arrange food if ordered before time. I absolutely loved their commitment towards their work. They have sea view rooms and the beach area in the front has private shacks which acts as a cherry on the cake. If you want a relaxing stay at Cherai Beach. You can definately opt for this one.

My extended family (7 of us) booked 3 rooms at Cherai Beach Residency (not to be confused with Cherai Beach Resort down the road) for 3 days right after Christmas 2019. My husband and I have been to almost 30 countries and have stayed at a wide variety of places, but this is up there with the top 5 just because of the sheer warmth and hospitality of the hosts, Jessy & Poly. First off, Cherai Beach Residency is a small place, more like a large house than a hotel, and it is immaculately maintained. The rooms (air-conditioned) and large bathrooms are pristinely clean and comfortable. The staff are very attentive and obliging. That made this place instantly stand out to us. The compound sits across the road from the beach with easy access to the beach. There's a retaining wall that has been built between beach and road but right where this place is, the wall is very low so the beach is much more accessible than from some of the other resorts. [Edit: 2022 - they had to build a higher retaining wall so you do have to climb steps to get to the beach and the sea is visible only from the top floor balconies. ]They also put out beach chairs for guests unlike the other resorts. The beach, btw, is one of the cleanest beaches we've been to. Not crowded either. In the afternoons we were the only people there! We hosted a lunch for 14 people the day we arrived, having made arrangements with Poly ahead of time via email. It was well-executed and the food (Kerala food) was very good. For the remainder of our stay, we had almost all meals at the resort (breakfasts are included with the room). We just had to tell them a couple of hours in advance what we wanted off their menu. I highly recommend their Kerala fish dishes - they buy fish fresh off the fishermen's boats. More than the rooms, the food, the beach access, etc, it is their hospitality that stood out to us. We felt like we were at a relative's home the entire time because Poly and Jessy were so easy-going and flexible, extremely accommodating, and would even join our conversations when they weren't too busy. When Poly saw me filming a toddy tapper in the backyard, he arranged for us to have a taste of the toddy taken from his coconut trees. When we specified the type of fish we would like to eat, Jessy managed to get it. Tea or coffee was made whenever we wanted. When we needed to arrange for a taxi or autorickshaw, they'd do it promptly. When I mentioned that I couldn't handle long car rides for sight-seeing, Poly immediately brainstormed and came up with the idea of a boat tour and arranged for all the tickets within minutes. My 82-year-old mother was so impressed with Cherai Beach Residency that she immediately booked two rooms for January for my sister's visit. I asked my sister yesterday what to write in this review and she said, "Just write a rave review! " Clearly their service is consistent. Their resort is small enough for them to manage beautifully (just 6 or 7 rooms, I think) and it's evident that Poly and Jessy absolutely love what they do. They love meeting people from around the world, and they equally love meeting people who (like my mom and aunt) live in Kerala. Cherai Beach Residency was the best possible choice for a family get-together but my husband and I are equally certain that we will return for a stay by ourselves. We cannot recommend it highly enough! [Edit: I returned in March 2022. Nothing to change this review except that there is now a lovely swimming pool on the premises. Their service is above and beyond. They actually call my mother occasionally to just chat. Amazing. I have booked my third visit already! ]

Room was small and ok. Restroom was nice and clean. Private beach for this property, pool everything was well maintained.

A pleasant, quiet seaside stay with personalized service, just a short walk from the main area of Cherai Beach's boardwalk and restaurants. Very clean and well maintained with a variety of plants adding to the serenity. The pool was beautiful and refreshing. Staff was very helpful in arranging transportation to Fort Kochi and the airport, letting us know the various options from a full tour to taking an auto to the ferry. The owners speak excellent English.

A really great little hotel with clean rooms, with helpful staff and a great location. The pool is also in excellent condition and if you have any questions you will be helped immediately. Not to mention the food, which is also excellent. Clear recommendation.

We had a great time. The location is perfect for those who look for a beach side stay with decent amenities. The beach view from the balcony and Roof top graden is wonderful. Pool is maintained properly and my kid enjoyed the same to a great extent. Special thanks to the Chef who prepared a great dinner for us. Soups, Karimeen pollichathu, Porotta were Superb. We are extremely happy with the service provided by the owners, manager and service persons. Thanks alot for making our stay a memorable one.

Don't miss the walk around the back waters: Take to your left from the lodge, walk about 400 meters and take the road to your left opposite the bullock cart statue and enjoy the walk and sunrise!

Easy access to the beach, resort is very comfortable to stay. Breeze especially in the evening is awesome. Food is excellent and staff are friendly.

A super cool stay with an amazing beach view. So relaxing from this work life. Hygiene and service is at its peak. Food was better. Only matter noticed is, need someone there in front office of the new building to attend the emergencies… because, I went to the old building 2 times, coz no one was there to contact.but overall its good. I will visit again️

My husband and I really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Cheral Beach Residency, particularly because of the way the hosts Poly and Jessy along with the other employees Sameer, Rinku and Prasanna, interact with the guests. They definitely give a new meaning to service with a smile. What is really unique about this place is you are treated like a family member, rather than just a customer/guest. Some highlights were 1) the inventive ways they took to accommodate us when fully booked at the weekend, 2) the willingness of Jessy and Prasanna in making specific dishes from the Kerala cuisine we love (and were NOT on their regular menu), 3) quick response in fixing any issues we had, and most of all 4) Jessy's humorous personal anecdotes. If you want to enjoy hospitality with a personal touch, this is the place to choose.

A nice place to stay very close to the beach, you need to cross a small road to access the beach.

Rooms on 1st floor are with sea view. Breakfast served was home cooked and tasty. There are quite a lot of restaurants and Ayurvedic spas near the property.

The ground floor room was quite a small one but was clean and neat.

They have a neatly maintained swimming pool.
The staffs and owner are humble and helped us with activities like boating in manjaly.

Only disappointment was that we had to wait for an hour for the room to get ready as the earlier guests checked out late. And tv was not working on our room.

Good place to stay at the Cherai beach side. A homely place run by a very friendly elderly couple. Rooms are clean and simple. A clean swimming pool is maintained here.
Breakfast and dinner are available. The view from the rooms is of the beach and they arrange beach chairs and serve tea/ coffee etc on the beach if requested.
Overall, humble place to spend a relaxed time near the beach with family and friends.

Cherai beach residency is a perfect place for family stay in Cherai which satisfy almost all you expect from a beach resort with homely touch. Has all facilities like beach side beds &chairs, pool etc. Main advantage is the location and beach view from the Rooms.
Food tough they have less options they try their best to satisfy our needs and requests.
Hosts both Uncle and Aunty are so humble and helpful. Both are always engaged to make their guests stay comfortable. Very nice service staff. Thank you for the good time.

Excellent stay. Me and my friend had a good experience. The view from the first floor balcony is amazing. In the night we can hear the sound of waves throughout. The owner's and the support staff are very helpful. They provide Beach Lounge chair to relax and have a good sunset view. The pool in the resort is very clean and properly maintained. Very happy with the stay and will definitely love to comeback later with family and friends.

The location was very near to the beach and was very clean.
Rooms were very clean and good. Services was a little slow as they were understaffed. Complimentary breakfast was alright but lunch and dinner could be better (options were also less).
Overall had a good experience there, would surely recomend this place for family and couples.

Jessy aunty and Poly Poulo uncle is lovable and caring, they treat us with love and care. Food is awesome it will be like homemade food and hygienic as well. We are really happy about our stay. Even staffs are very good Thanks uncle and aunty?

If you are looking for a quiet getaway with family or friends, you have sea view rooms welcoming you. Beach is just across the road probably 40 metres away. Breakfast is complementary and the rest of your meals are cooked by the host itself. A very neat pool where you can enjoy with family, not full size but big enough. Thanks to Mr n Mrs Polly for the arrangements. Samir deserves special mention. Food cost are a bit on the higher side but you have the option of eating out from nearby locations.

Nothing special to mention. An ordinary beach hotel very close to the beach. They provide resting coaches on the beach for the guests.

It's located right next to Cherai Beach and Ambedkar Beach but not too close to sea which gives a sense of security too. There's a road and sea wall between the two star hotel. The rooms were clean, rooms nicely furnished. There's construction works of a swimming pool going on here so there will be a bit of noise at day time.
The room with sea facing balcony is worth the money. The hosts are courteous. Staff are helpful.

Parking space is a bit limited. You can park in the compound. Please keep in mind that this is a comfy two star hotel and not a huge resort. Choose here only if you want some calm sea breeze and serentiy.

No words to say. I was surprised to see a swimming pool. Nice ambiance. Front side beach view and back side pool view. Food is also good. And I had a nice roof top break fast experience.

We went there with our dog Scooby. Even though the place doesn't advertise itself as pet friendly the owner Mr. Pauly was very accommodative. The Bamboo rooms are recommended if you dig the boat house vibe, the beach side rooms have great sea breeze. They put beach chairs on the rocky beach and you can get tea and coffee delivered there. They have 24 hour checkout policy - which was very helpful since we had a flight in the evening. The hotel staff are very polite and helpful. The food that we ordered at the restaurant was very good - but orders need to given in advance

Cherai Beach Residency stay was very good, enjoyable and relaxing. Location of property is really good as beach is just 4 steps away. This is a very simple property where you will find personal touch by the owner of this property who is husband and wife and very generous and helpful to their guests. Rooms are little small but if you are a beach lover that does not matter.
Food is Ok and mainly delivered by nearby local restaurant as this Hotel does not have its own restaurant. Recommended for people who are searching for good location, awesome beach and peaceful place.

Needs tidying up. Restaurants weren't open even at 8 am! Administration and also the local business needs to act immediately to attract tourists.

Very good Hotel located in front of Cherai beach. Room was neat and tidy. Morning View from Balcony is Excellent. Breakfast Kerala style was very good and yummy too. Recommended to everyone.

But the support Polly has given me is so awesome. I called him on the situation of not being able to make it for the trip because of bad weather conditions, he immediately transferred the money to my account which is really amazing. Such a nice person he is. Definitely when ever I visit Kochi in the future I will choose this residency

Great location across a small street from the beach. Short walk to numerous restaurants. Super nice and efficient staff, especially the young man who has been there for five years and is from Darjeeling (sorry I cannot recall his name). They anticipate what you need! It was our last few days in Kerala and it was great.

The Cherai Beach Residency is situated adjacent to the Cherai Beach road on the opposite side of the sea but provides very beautiful, attractive, and panoramic view of the sea. I had visited this place to meet one of my friend and family who had stayed here. During my visit they informed me that the stay at this place was very comfortable and convenient. They also told me that during the next season also they like to stay here itself.
