Palakkad District
in the southeastern part of the former Malabar district, is one of the 14 districts of the Indian state of Kerala. It is located right in the middle of the state. Whenever I happen to hear about any Civil Station my mind flys to reach the front area of Palakad civil Station where I have spent long hours of duty in connection with various agitations of different political parties. While attending duty here the senior officer has to ensure the functioning of various offices and also the courts. This sometimes fails as the agitators reach the place and encircle the civil Station making a seige of the entire area. This often results in the use force against the agitators. Some of the organizations are cooperative and they obey the directions of the officers. In a very harsh agitation there were huge pelting of stones and many officers sustained injuries and there was use of force against the agitators.
