Club Mahindra Ashtamudi Resort in Kerala

Fantastic place if you can afford it. But warning right now. Extremely expensive. Make sure you have a budget of at least 60k per person for rooms alone (without food, food extra) for four days! If money is no problem, this is the place for you.

The thing is that I love this place for SiLent end calm environment.
Nothing, nothing, nothing nothing to do outside the resort. Food you can have you inside the resort but. Outside food is not guaranteed. Think that you enjoy will leisure time. Everything in the resort don't go outside

Overall experience was average but they could improve things like multiple A/C remote for one room like in 1Br there were 3 A/C and we just got 1 Remote secondly the food served was mixed up like in buffet area the veg Nonveg and jain food were kept together they could have segregated it into 3 parts and even some service were slow so they could improve those things other than this every thing was kinda good

I visited this place with family, it took me few months to get 1BR FLT reservation, i wanted the experience staying on floating villa. Our experience is wonderful.we enjoyed our stay here. This property is also well maintained and wonderful specially back waters. Food as usual is very delicious and definetly tasty.
To reach this place is also not difficult, we droped at Kollam railway station early morning at 5.00 am. Outside railway station it is very easy to get a Taxi to the resort at just rs. 800/- from railway station to kollam resort.
We will definatly come again to this resort with some guests with us.

We were absolutely enchanted by the resort's picturesque location, with the breathtaking Ashtamudi lake just a stone's throw away from our room. The entire resort team, left us thoroughly impressed with their excellent cooperation.
We also want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the exceptional Chef Sreejith and the supporting staff Ajnas. Their warm and gracious service made our experience truly remarkable. Our family's gratitude knows no bounds. Thank you for creating unforgettable memories for us. One suggestion would be, If you could incorporate more water sports activities it would have been a plus.

We are a member of club mahindra and all the properties are serene. Ashtamudi too was no less. I specifically want to mention one staff’s name who was very rude and hope the head of that resort takes things into consideration!
And his name is LINDO. It so happened that we were having our routine lunch in banquet and my 3 yr old daughter was wandering around after lunch near the mocktail section nd she just touched one of the mocktail nd the staff there was generous enough to give her that drink as a compliment.but the next day during our check out this person named LINDO who was in charge of the buffet was so reluctant and said that we can’t give mocktail as complimentary.we said we pay lakhs of money and join as a member we don’t mind paying 170/- mocktail but it points on your hospitality.how bad it is.he dint budge and was so adamant.but we paid the mocktail amount and told him that we are going to raise a complaint against you.he was least bothered wen we said that and left. Hope this review helps people to identify this person when they visit Ashtamudi bcz such staffs bring the hotel’s reputation down.

Calm & quiet place surrounded with lakes to chill out
Spacious rooms, Lovely food, plenty of walkways.

Awesome property in awesome location. Courteous staff. Stayed in floating house- the sunrise over Ashtamudi lake from the house porch was a bliss. Calm and serene property. Great place to unwind. Sea food restaurant is a must try.
A local dish like puttu or appam in breakfast would have made the stay perfect.

Had a wonderful stay with family here. The food was awesome spread.thanks to Chef Suresh.all the staff are polite, friendly and v helpful.

Resturent sirve was very very good sepical Staff but Resturent head of Sujata is very nice & Ashtamudi Kerala resort is so so not good my experience is give to only 1 star

Resort is in the middle of nowhere. Nothing to do outside, but very nice rooms and good service. Restaurant is ok. Not the best, but really the only option.

Good resort for a few relaxing days. It is touching the Ashtamudi Lake and to get the true back-waters experience, one must stay in their 1BR, a.k. A. Floating Cottage (FC). It actually floats and moves along with the tidal waves! On one side, you have the panaromic view of the lake, and on the other side you have the flora and fauna view, a signature view of most Club Mahindra (CM) Resorts. There is nothing touristy to be done around the resort and this place, Ashtamudi, is not only lesser known but less travelled in the usual Kerala tours organised by tour companies too. However, do visit this resort but only to experience the FC. Couple of improvement areas for the resort: (1) insufficient lighting just outside the FC door (2) response time delay by house keeping staff. Due to the isolated location of the resort, meal packages offered are pricier as compared to the same packages offered by other CM resorts. There are alternatives but one needs to travel minimum 6-7 kms outside to find a restaurant.

Ambience and surrounding very good. Staff friendly and helpful. The only flaw we felt was in the quality and variety of food provided. Also even though names of food mentioned were in english since it was just literal translation of the local language it created confusion of whether the item was veg or non veg as there was no green dot next to the name not was the vegetarian dishes kept in a separate counter from the non veg dishes. There is much needed improvement in this area else the resort was appealing in all other aspects.

Beautiful resort. Stunning view of ashtamudi lake. The best food available in kollam, but more than 15 km away from town. Floating villas and restaurant is amazing.

Stay was pleasant and fun. Games were organised for us in the evening. Transportation is a big headache when it comes to leaving for sight seeing.located in a very remote place. Food is costly but taste wasn't compromised.

Club mahindra's hotel are amazing.experience in floating cottage are also amazing staff also helpful and friendly.i really enjoyed

Good place for Families, Couples. House Boat facilities available, floating restaurant etc.are there. But somehow expensive.

it was a wonderful experience. Ishant Helped us with food Package. Food was very delicious. Great Team we will recommend ths place to everyone

Good location for a resort place. The Restaurant service was good with healthy food served by the waitresses. Can improve upon customer satisfaction. Pricing is a bit on the higher side though.

Though the activities are limited.the surroundings are just WOW! Their floating 1 bedroom cottages are a must try.with beautiful interiors and a balcony facing the ashtamudi backwater

Beautiful experience.great hospitality. Staff very cooperative, caring and felt very much comfortable. Special thanks to Sujata, Maya Rani, Sudeesh, tanveer, ishaan, Devendra, prince, pravin, feroz for their personal care and the life guard in the swimming area. Food was awesome. Chef and the staff took care of our each and every wish. Cannot forget Sebin for making our evenings happenings. Want to visit again. Felt 3 nights was not sufficient. Thanks a lot guys

Bad experience the rooms are fine but food is extremely bad along with the service.rooms are spacious and process of food are higher than other club Mahindra gourmet express the chefs aren't very good thus look for food options outside although that may get tough as the resort is at a very bad location where there are no shops and restaurants nearby.had a tough stay here. 1 BR room were very good and hotel unit too wasn't that bad but the floating cottages were better we enjoyed the place but please improve with the food

The floating cottages are an amazing experience. The lake is enormous and fill your heart with its expanse. Very friendly staff, F n B manager Krishnan and the Chef are friendly and always present at your command.

Wonderful location - right on the water front. There are hammocks and benches placed close to the waters edge so it's very pleasant sitting in the shade of the coconut trees and the pretty orchids and stare out at the backwaters with the sound of the water lapping at your feet.
Beautiful, clean swimming pool. There's music playing and the pool is open until 7 in the evening.
Delightful little chalet rooms.
A kids play area with puzzles and games. Bikes which can be hired.
The floating restaurant has great food. Generous portions.

Everything was fine about the resort. The check in, transfer to our beautiful floating cottages, the ambience, the layout, food, service. All good. Except one big issue, who charges for bicycle rides within the resort premises? That was cheap of them to do it & it was not cheap at all. A good starting charge for any ride was obscene.
Otherwise a really fantastic resort to spend some great time with friends and family

Very bad service. Low staff and slow. No knowledge of how the club mahindra people have to serve and no reponse of repeatedly reminding for room service also.

Amazing resort. But stay in one BR and not hotel units. Floating cottages (1 BR) not only have amazing view but also amazing interiors and very well maintained.

Awsome place to hangout at the banks of Ashtamudi Kayal. Silent and green place with river water view. Floating restaurant, fun zone, swimming pool, house boats, speed boat rides are adding more thrill to the place. Food is delicious. Staffs are with cool behaviour. Stay is comfortable gor families, couples as well as singles for taking a break from hectic life routines.

We had our Family Get together at the resort on 23rd of August 2018. The payment was made as per initial terms and no bargain was done.
We were totally dissatisfied by the Quality of food provided by them during the day, starting from Welcome Drink to Tea/Coffee. How can they brew coffee so unprofessionally! The lunch buffet menu was pre-ordered. The dishes including chicken and fish were so tasteless and below par. Even Fried Rice was so substandard.
Better keep away from dining at the resort.

Cottages over the waterfront, boat rides with amazing view & rare Dolphin sighting. A complete family experience as with other Mahindra resorts.

Good for max 2 nights only as resort is completely cut off and nothing much to do other than boating in back waters. Food and service is okay. Would not suggest stay in hotel unit rooms if you are a large family or have more luggage. These are pigeon hole sized rooms, very small. Many hotel unit rooms are technically lake facing but get completely covered by the floating cottages in front of them. Club Mahindra Poovar is a far better resort and location on all fronts - quality and size of rooms, size of resort, food, staff, sightseeing near by options etc.

VERY HIGH TAXI FARE

Club Mahindra resorts taking high taxi rates on resorts. Therefore, the tourists of the club Mahindra will have to depend on other taxi services. However, taxis from outsiders are not allowing to access the resort or make customer service by group of taxi drivers who working only for club mahindra. In many cases, violence has taken place. Either Club Mahindra have to stop taking high taxi charges from their costomers nor the police take responsibility of outside taxi drivers & Passangers. Costomer have freedom to choose there service. Please take necessary actions.

Its a very good resort located on ashtamudi lake. I advice you to stay in the floating cottages as they give you the best view and experience.

It's a beautiful resort by the lake. The best part of the resort is the floating cottages. The interiors are all wooden and beautifully done. The view from the cottage is stunning. The entire team there ensures that you have a pleasant stay. They keep engaging you in conversations and try to understand if everything is going fine. There's a floating restaurant too. Having food by the lake side is even more satisfying. Cost of food is a bit on the higher side and you won't get anything outside leaving you no choice but to eat in the restaurant. But then they have interesting meal packages which are relatively easy on your pocket. The quantity served in À la carte menu is quite a lot (which they mention even in the menu). Even the combos have a quantity good enough for three people. The restaurant staff is amazing. They are expanding the resort but on the land side. Cottages will remain the same in number. The fun zone isn't very exciting and they need to work on that. There is no gym, no bar. Wifi is available in the fun zone/ reception area but I found it very slow. The house boat ride is very relaxing. They have speed boat rides as well. Overall it's a very memorable holiday.

We were very happy with the warmth of the staff. Our flight back was cancelled and they did everything to help us book further travel arrangements. Very very thankful for the care

Though not a huge resort. Definitely a peaceful place. Ideal for a family holiday. Speedboat trip to the dolphin's point is a must
