Cochin Halwa Centre

Had ordered Pothichor (100/-) along with Fish curry (80/-), fish fry (80/-) and Clams Fry (80/-). Pothichor had sufficient quantity of rice and tasty home style cabbage thoran, mixed veg kootucurry, chamanthi, pickle, fried chilli and omelette along with sambar, rasam, pappad and a jalebi. Fish fry and curry too were delicious. Clams fry was the star of the lunch as it was very delicious. Will definitely order again and highly recommended to anyone whose looking for home style pothichor. Neatly packed with no spillage issues and delivered quickly within schedule time.

If you want to try something different and fresh in Kochi please try CHC. This is one of the place that always maintain their consistency in taste and quality.

Update: tried there mutton biryani best in the town.

Cochin Halwa centre one of the famous spots in Fortkochi. We tried their chicken Biriyani the taste was excellent the flavour was too good and the rice was cooked perfectly chicken pieces were tender a perfect chicken Biriyani. They serves u with a egg, onion raitha pickle and jelabi

The photo we took doesn’t do it justice. The fried beef biryani and the fried chicken biryani were incredible. The owner was real helpful in explaining what was offered and it was fantastic. You must get the cozhi ada, it’s amazing. By the time we took the photo we almost finished the bag. 5/5 great. I hope more tourists see this so they can enjoy too

Ordered the beef pickle and the kallumakaya pickle. The fact that they have smaller quantities ensures you eat it fresh and can order again and try more varieties. Pickles were not over spicy, they were flavourful and delicious. Will be ordering again.

Love from Canada. Ordered Kozhi ada from CHC and it was delivered to Thiruvalla on time. It was delicious and crispy. Packing was perfect, even after long journey it dint crumble. Highly recommend.

Located at amaravathy road, near kokers junction (opp arabian palace fort kochi). Parking is available, but less. Seating area also is less but satisfactory. Area could have been a bit cleaner. Ordered different chaats (bhel puri, samosa chaat, vada pav) and tea. Chaats were very filling and of good quality and taste. Vada pav quantity a bit less. Also tried a piece of their black halwa, but was not happy with the taste. Overall, for decent food at decent prices, this is recommended.

Saw the special making of Kallumakkaya/Mussels pickle and wanted to send it miles across to our family because CHC always brings in special and varieties in food, I had bought 500 two pouches (great packing) and also a 200 gm bottle for us, I should say we all loved it and we would be ordering for more, pickle tooooo good

Very cheap Halwa I found over here. Starts from ₹200 per kg. Many varieties. Polite staff. You can taste snacks like pattice and many bakery items sold here.

We've had the food from the Cochin Halwa centre and it's very good. Love their prawns biriyani, seafood and chicken pothichoru. Chicken fry and prawns roast, both are yum too! Good quantity and great service!
Their Katti rolls are right up there with the katti rolls from Kolkata!

I didn't directly bought from them, because I live in Aluva. But my 1st experience from my sister's home near CHC kochi. Their Biriyani was so nice especially the sides they providing with the biriyani. That increases the flavour of whole biriyani. They meet they are using is nice quality and also the rice. Rice was very flavorful. There is no strong flavour of masala. Everyone should like this.
Then i heard about their CRAB BIRIYANI. I brought that biriyani with the help of my sister. Last week I tried that one. What I say. It is soo tasty and worth the money. Crab is very fresh. Also the crab meat taste soo tender. Loved the flavour. And going to order the crab biriyani on next Sunday for a family meet-up. Also they serving foods and snacks with affordable prices than all places in kochi.

Halwa centre is one of the best places to get all your snacks from. When ever I travel to another state or abroad I always buy from here. They make it fresh. From Halwa to gartia and all the different types of chips and mixtures to north Indian sweets, all these eatables are really good. They have friendly staff. The only issue I have with this place is that they don't cover their samosas, cutlets etc. So flies and god knows what else will falls on it. They need to maintain some hygiene to attract more crowds. Come on Halwa centre. You can do it! You can make the place cleaner.

Okay saw a lot of reviews and a video showcasing their pothichoru before ordering it and got it today after driving down from kakkanad to pick it up to avoid the Rs250.00 delivery charge on top of the Rs. 550.00 cost of the pothichoru. I am an avid foodie and a passionate home cook and would definitely not recommend the pothichoru i have no problem paying the price as long as the food is authentic in taste but when it lacks that and on top of that the quantity of items set out in their menu are served in tea spoon quantity it becomes outrageous. I had to search for the prawns and after digging around found 4 tiny prawns tucked away in the rice my sincere request is please be honest in what you do

Ordered kochikkaran pothichoru and prawns roast, for a seafood lover the pothichoru is a treat. Kakka irachi, prawns fry, crab roast were awesome.quality and quantity was too good. They are very much customer friendly.

Great combination of masla chai with bread pakoda. Local savories and north Indian dishes are good as well.

A very close friend of mine who lives in Nairobi, Kenya had recently placed an online order for a variety of sweets/halwas from your store, to be couriered to Dharwad, Karnataka. I'd like to mention that everything was very neatly packed and well labelled. The halwas (black halwa and Mumbai halwa) were amazingly fresh, rich in flavour and perfect in texture too and so were the other sweets (butterscotch barfi and the sugarless barfi). Amazing food! Hard to find Mumbai style street food anywhere in Kochi but there are so many options ti choose from here! Also the Owner Arsh is so kind, he made sure he made vegan food for us! Highly recommend

They have been serving really fresh and tasty bakery items for a long time. They have milk halwa, one of my fav. Recently they have upgraded their store and slightly relocated. In new avatar, they have introduced tea (ordinary, lemon etc) with snacks, chaats, rolls and batura (veg and non veg). Try it if u are in fortkochi

Absolutely must try. Fantastic food the sweets are amazing and cooked fresh. The only problem is there is no seating and you have to eat standing up. The prices are fairly reasonable, you can say cheap even but they don't sacrifice on quality. Just try the Batura you'll love it

There mava jalebi is very delicious and they have many varieties of chips, namkeen and many things.

Cochin halwa centre has been one of my staple places since childhood. Now they've moved and the new store has some new varieties which is a must try. Their halwa will always been my favourite. The new dishes which includes the kebabs, channa batura and other evening snacks are not to be missed

Good to see this place back with North Indian dishes added to their menu. Only drawback is they do not have a seating arrangement. When the food is good you don't have to worry about a seat.
The pav bhaji and the rolls the top favorite followed by chats.

It's a small place roadside with no seating arrangements. Car parking is not available. Food is average. Read some reviews raving about their Vadapav and Kachori.not matching to the typical taste. If you look forward to same taste which you get at Mumbai, you may get disappointed.

A family run business that values its customers, spends time to take their feedback and implement it. Now that’s what I call service. They have come a long way from that small roughly stacked store I remember visiting when I was a child. Now they have some exciting new snacks that you can munch on while waiting for your other fresh orders to be packed. Their chicken shami kababs are delicious with just the right amount of spices. Their mango juice is pure heaven with only fresh cold mango pulp puréed into a rich thick smoothie. No added sugar, milk or water and they make it to order. Their chicken momos are absolutely scrumptious. Steamed or pan fried as per your choice. I had the steamed ones that just simply melted in my mouth. All this while waiting for them to pack my freshly fried banana and chili tapioca chips along with their infamous sticky black halwa. And oh! Can’t forget the yummy desert I spotted just before paying the bill; some warm and crispy jalebi that was sinful. I did a takeaway on some tawa fried chicken masala which was also tasty but could use some extra seasoning with salt and spices.
I’m definitely visiting them again whenever I visit Kochi.

I happen to visit the new Cochin halwa centre and I used to visit this place from long back but to my wonder the new and expanded shop is loaded with so much new items, pure ghee indian sweets, juices, tea, snacks, Chaat, fruit creams, faloods and So on,
And I must say everything was damn good,
They have kept there standards on each and every new items as how it used to be since 1986

Recently this shop was shifted to a new building opposite to kokkers theatre.

New shop has more space and variety of North Indian snacks, chats, sweets, Halwa, chips, juices are available now.

Good hygienic preparations in front of us makes us more comfortable.

Take out available, tables available for dining but without chairs.
