Previously this restaurant wa s run by Indian Coffee house. A restaurant chain run by a workers co operative society. Now it is run by a private party using the name Coffee house in order to misguide the people and to visit there by Mistake thinking it is Indian Coffee house. This hotel also uses Photos of AKG and EMS in front of Cash Counter to misguide people. Food items are not worth for the value of the money we pay pay.
It has the shadow of the original Indian coffee house.only the shadow! Food, taste, quality service.all are substandard compared to the former one. But nowadays no other choice for people.
Billing is messed up, biller doesn't know what are available in kitchen. So when we bill an item (which is not available) and submit the receipt to waiter the waiter goes to kitchen and check if it is available, if it is not available we have the make another bill again.
Reasonably priced no nonsense tasty Kerala dishes. Love it that the restaurant is on the highway. It makes for an excellent option to plan food at this restaurant during travels.
This hotel is under Calicut University co-operate store and run by Le Kanchees catering service. It is not Indian Coffee House. New price list from Dec 2022 is attached for reference.
We went there at around 9 am and they had only two dishes on their menu. Moreover the food they served was cold. The place is not really clean and i wouldn't recommend this place. There's a Vanitha hotel nearby. Might as well give that a try.
Not an Indian coffee house! Don't get confused. Staffs are not friendly. Food tastes average. Easily accessible from highway. No dedicated parking space.
It would be wiser to forgo eating here than to purchase food. The unhygienic conditions and the awful staffs are their biggest attraction. Just to find out the menu, I waited more than 15 minutes. It took an additional 20 minutes to serve the food, which is of terrible quality and taste. Most of them still hold on to the misconception that it is a "Indian Coffee House. " however, the team changed a few years ago. The new management have absolutely no interest in listening to the complaints and fixing the problems. They are only kept afloat by the lack of competing restaurants nearby.
Good food. Humble service and budget friendly. The food is tasty and all the kerala ethnic food is available in the coffee house. Famous for their cheap cutlets and reddish Masala Dosa. But we ordered a pair of porotta and beef curry. The porotta and beef curry was good and the quantity of the beef curry is very low. No wheelchair accessible entrance No parking space
Bad behaviour from staff. The plates were not washed neatly.stale food is cooked according to customer order. In between supplying the food the supplier went for cleaning the toilet. When we complaint about this matter, the staff behaved very rudely and used bad words against us. In total it was a very bad experience and one of the worst restaurant in Kerala.
Earlier it was ICF and now renamed as 'Coffee House' & run by Calicut University cooperative store. Budget friendly, neat & clean an OK hotel. Inside it is not as good looking as seen from outside. Had Meals and it was ok with 2 side dishes, pickle, Pappadam, Sambar, Fish curry & Rasam and costs Just Rs. 50. A neat Toilet is provided aside wash area. Couldn't find any other better hotel near by. Better try University canteen (Of it is open)
I got an opportunity to visit this hotel which is adjacent to the Calicut University campus as part of my journey from Mangalore to Guruvayur. It was a very hot summer and stopped to quench my thirst and hunger. Discovered that the staff working over there was too polite to say the least. The hospitality offered by all the employees was much appreciated. Ordered masala dosa and tea and some other stuffs. It ignited my taste buds to a different level which was reminiscent of the one which I had from a hotel in Udupi many years back. It was not at all taxing on my pocket as well. Keep up the good work!
Modifications had done in the Indian coffee house. Now its Coffee house staffs are good. Variety of dishes has provided now. Even non vegetarian options are available.
