Contour Backwaters Hotel Resort & Convention Centre

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING THIS PLACE!
My family used this location for my sisters wedding last week.

Check-in: This process was a complete nightmare. When my mom (Brides mother who is paying for the event) and my aunt who traveled close to 2 hours came in to check in, they would not allow them to do so. Mind you, we had a Rehearsal dinner planned in 2 hours on the same day. Reason - Due to missing identification. A little backstory, a good number of my family who landed in Kerala that week decided to stay at one of our relatives houses until the day of checkin. In fear of losing any important documents or IDs they decided to leave everything at my relatives houses. My family shows up to check in contour declined access to everyone and made us stand in the lobby for about an hour and a half. We asked for their General Manager but they continued to make excuses like "Oh you just missed him" or "he had to leave early bc he's sick". We booked this location over 6 months ahead of time, not once did they send us a list of requirements for the check in. Their response, it is a requirement for all the hotels in Kerala. We asked them for their company policy that states this requirement, they stated "We do not a have a policy". For a group of people who haven't traveled to India in over 10 years you can't assume everyone will know the requirements of your hotel. Finally after few hours of back and forth, they agreed for us to stay the night as long as we produce the documents before midnight. My aunt had to travel 2 hours both ways to go an get the documents so that we could stay the remaining night. Contour needs to update this process immediately! This was very inconvenient.

Rooms - Outdated. Tiles cracked. Bathroom musty and disgusting. Mosquitoes and Small bugs in the room. Bedsheets were dirty.

Food (Nostalgia) - Decent Food.

For a "5 star Hotel" guests expect better customer service. I was very disappointed with this experience.

There is a person called Mr. Vishnu in the service area.
Excellent person for the service he does.everyone working there are best

Best place in Central Travancore for a peaceful stay. The convention centre is also the best for events.

Good ambiemce to host parties and get togethers. Had a wedding shoot here and could click many beautiful pictures of the bride and groom on their beautiful day.

Good parking facilities but it doesn't give a premium look.power goes off frequently, services are good.

It is a very nice place. But it is not suitable for going during rainy seasons. During our visit to this place a out 150 metres of road was submerged in water. We could reach the hotel in our vehicle (which was a tempo traveller).
Otherwise it is a nice place.

Never been to a restaurant so unclean. Dead insects below the table we took. Stinky toilet. Horrible experience. No menu card and unpleasant staff. Nothing good about this place. Dunno who manages the restaurant. He definitely needs some training.

A best 5 star resort (formalities completed) at economy price and the ambiance of the property is very nice. The room and the washroom was neat and clean (well appreciated, not like other 5 star rated hotels). Overall it was amazing experience. This hotel is kids friendly, very helpful staff and thank to the manager.
The food is so delicious and worth it. I recommend their Kerala meals.tasty and yummy.

Visited the place yesterday for having dinner at its restaurant. Food is just OK. Not much variety now. Price is on the higher end. I had gastric issues on the next day after having dinner here which is a disappointing experience for me.

Rooms are well maintained, not too big (deluxe rooms) deluxe rooms bathroom is just average.suite rooms are spacious, they have 3 banquets hall 2 big one and 1 small

Class resort to spend time with your family and slowly enjoy the meal. Best place to spend night and also conduct events

Good place to conduct functions and marriages. Ample parking facility. Very spacious auditorium and dining hall. Beautiful landscape. The place is not at all crowded.
Easily accessible place. Situated at the side of main road itself. Highly recommended.

Have 2 Big halls which can afford Big crowd, had attended a function here.

Backwaters are just visible, cant be accessed
Very near to changannserry hardly 1km.
Alappuzha is 22 kms away.

Posh auditorium, lot of parking area, backwater, Full a, /c.pleanty of space for fir gents and ladies sperately.cute space, very best stage facikities, easy acces fro hoghway.

With great expectation we ordered karimeen pollichathu (a kerala spl dish) but they served a rotten fish which taste bad and not cleaned properly.

Excellent resort had a comfortable stay at Backwaters. Suites are worth staying in. Room service, laundry services requires a + special mention. Great team work by all.
Service was always with a smile

If your booking any convention center please add atleast 200 person extra for food. People from out side will enter to participate in buffet. It cost me 1.6L for the rent of main auditorium and these people hosted another wedding attached to this hall. The other hall function's music was too loud and disturbing

Very good restaurant for a quick bite and equally receptive and attentive staff.definitely a good place to stop on a long drive for family

A great convention centre, well equipped for weddings and functions, decent food. The attitude of the support staff was great, wanting to take care of the guest request.

The banquet they have outsourced food, the parking here is a hassle.
The security guards are very rash and they confuse us with their parking senses.
There are 3halls here, make sure you go to the right function as it becomes to tricky.
There is a lot of pot holes in the drive and walkway, elders beware of this.

Its a good convention centre with lot of amenities.ample car parking is available with natures serenity

Had a calm and relaxing stay at contours. Peaceful ambience, efficient staff and transport facilities too.

Great stay and a nice experience. We were two and the room was specious. There sf a restaurant bar, pool and a convention centre. Pool was under maintanence and unusable. Hell with mosquitoes if we open the doors or windows. The service was very nice and room is also very good.

A best place to refresh your holidays and weekends they have best hospitality and parking they serves delicious food and you can conduct conferences wedding reception etc and it's easy to find the location too.

5-star Rating for the restaurant here. Very courteous, kind and excellent people in hospitality. Timely serving of food and well arranged area. Food was awesome. Mixed fried rice is a dish to try. Prawns masala was a little under-cooked. Nice cleanliness and well-maintained washroom. Cleanliness is next to godliness. Appreciating the house-keeping.

Situated very near to alapuzha changanassery Road. Accessibility is good. Looks nature friendly but is a concrete jungle.

Beautiful, serene located in the heart of backwaters of kuttanad, Kerala. The place is peaceful and nature friendly. It has convenience for conferences, meetings, dining and stay facility available.

1. The room was nice and free wifi was fast
2. The overall look and greenery was good
3. The complimentary breakfast was not so good. Eggs-to-order took time and the food did not taste very good
4. The bathroom of the room I stayed in smelled very bad when I got the room itself. House keeping had not been done properly, so we had to call the authorities to check. They said it was our fault and there wasn't any problem on their side. Later they agreed to clean.
5. The water, both in the bathroom and the restaurant washes had a nasty smell and tasted bad.
6. There were too many insects and we were instructed not to keep the door open by the authorities.

Wide ac auditorium with seperate wide ac food court.
Overall posh looking environment.
Can handle high capacity crowd.

A wonderful area covering the beautiful scenic landscape of "kuttanadan" back-waters the pride of central travancore and the beautiful landscape covers the Contour to a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
There are two main halls the "Contour Convention Hall" which can accommodate easily 1000+ pax and the latter a bit smaller auditorium called the "Green court Hall" can also accommodate close to 1000 members.gives a spacious nature to accommodate large events or functions.
Ample amount of car parking facility creates a wonderful experience for hosting big functions.

The beds were good, thank god. The balcony was pointless, and it was weird how the rooms were in the middle of the parking, well the C-type rooms anyway. The bad parts were the tap, odour issues. The tap (maybe only in my room, C-5) would frequently alternate between hot and cold even if the tap is positioned in the middle. Usually, you'd expect the water temperature to be normal, but for some reason, the water temperature would fluctuate which was irritating. The bathroom would stink after first use and the odour would never leave, this was also irritating. When I called house keeping, no one picked up, so I called the front desk. They picked up but sometimes they wouldn't which was irritating

Visited for a marriage function. It was grand and enormous. Centralized AC's. The staff are very friendly and great in dealings. Very grandiose with peaceful environment. Easy parking access and marvelous rooms.
