Dharmadam Beach Park, once a haven for locals and tourists alike, now lies in a state of disrepair, its former glory overshadowed by rampant neglect. The park's deterioration is evident in every corner, from its crumbling walkways and overgrown foliage to its littered grounds and stagnant water bodies.
The once-thriving park now bears the scars of apathy. The walkways, once smooth and inviting, are now riddled with cracks and uneven surfaces, posing a hazard to visitors. The lush greenery that once adorned the park has been overtaken by a tangle of overgrown weeds and shrubs, obscuring the natural beauty that once drew visitors in.
The park's grounds are littered with an assortment of waste, from discarded plastic bottles and food wrappers to broken glass and debris. This unsightly accumulation of trash not only detracts from the park's aesthetic appeal but also poses a threat to wildlife and the environment.
The stagnant water bodies, once teeming with life, now stand as breeding grounds for mosquitoes and other pests. The once-crystal-clear waters are now murky and foul-smelling, a far cry from their former state.
The park's facilities, once well-maintained and functional, now lie in a state of disrepair. The restrooms are often dirty and unusable, lacking basic amenities like running water and toilet paper. The play equipment, once a source of joy for children, is now rusty and broken, posing a safety hazard.
The park's transformation from a vibrant oasis to a neglected wasteland is a testament to the lack of care and attention it has received. The authorities responsible for its upkeep have failed to fulfill their duty, leaving the park to deteriorate into a shadow of its former self.
The sad state of Dharmadam Beach Park serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of neglect. It is a call to action for the authorities to take immediate action to restore the park to its former glory and ensure that it remains a source of pride and enjoyment for the community.
The beach is good but the park near to that beach is poorly maintained. The park has got a entry fee which is worthless. The beach has got scenic view.
It was a very good spot for relaxing and play stations for kids but trust me day by day it getting worst, management has to do something. All equipments are so old and unsafe for kids
There is no maintenance in the kids' playing area, it's a beautiful location with the beach side. If kerala Tourism authorities can look at the area and do the necessary maintenance to attract more visitors to the park. At the same time, please set some food stalls.
Beautiful, neat and calm beach in Thalassery, which is ideal for family and kids. Snacks and beverages are also available inside the park. For adults tickets costs 15 rs and for children 5 rs
Dharmadom Island located near Thalassery in Kannur has turned into favourite for tourists seeking a secluded and tranquil atmosphere. This stunning island is covered with a canopy of coconut palms and dense bushes, surrounded by rivers on three sides and the sea on the other. The place gives a brilliant view of the confluence of the Anjarakandy and Thalassery rivers.
I enjoyed the Place, Park and People at this spot. Kids will definitely love and enjoy this place. Boating, Beach games and Kayak are there. Very beautiful and wide sandy beach will give you unforgettable space and time of joy. Nice place to relax during evening time.
A good place for family. It has children park and a decent beach. Avoid during high tide. Boating not worth. A must try place if you want an adventure walking inside water towards the island.
It's a simple place to go in the afternoon. We can walk and sit in the rocks. There is a park for children to play. The washroom is not good for both. Tickets charge for adult is Rs20 and for children is Rs5.
Maintenance is the main issue, better visit before park becomes so old, the items once broken are broken, no replacement as of now, still good in cleaning
If someone asked me right now, "which is the best beach in kerala you've been to? ", I would say darmadom beach! It is absolutely beautiful! The clean and well maintained sandy shores, the calm and beautiful waters, the greenery surrounding the beach, the birds flocking to the Island just off the coast, everything just makes you not wanting to leave. Beach football matches, kite flying, or simply running around, a must visit if you are ever in the Kannur district of kerala (or even if you are in Kozhikode).
Again an another beautiful beach in Kerala. You will have to pay entry fee of 10 bucks per person to enter the park area of the beach. It has got beautiful corners which are quite photogenic. Also it is couple friendly. You will see many couples in the park. Inside restaurant is also there, I haven’t tried though.
One of best beach park at Kannur. Pelnty of walking area, open stage for performances, kids playing equipments like seasaw.slide.swing etc. Kayaking services, good reach to muzhapilangad island.
A very good place to relax and enjoy the calmness of the river and the beauty of the sea. There is boating facility here. But the highlight is the little island or thuruthu, which you can walk across when the tide is low. But you should make sure that you come back to the main land before high tide.
Missed it till date and only when daughter's school picnic was arranged, came to know about the place. Nicely maintained. Good views. Beach is superb. The river and seas joining gives a sight for pleasure. Boating also available. Heard that at low tide we can take walk into isle 100m in the sea. Waiting for that.
