As the name suggests in the Malayalam Language, YOU can probably spot the eponymous Mr Dileep with his signature big black Moustache (meesha) sitting on a bench I'm front of this shop on a fine morning. This place is Only good enough for the kind of hype that it has garnered over the years. Even the atmosphere of this locale ain't that appealing for what it must have looked like. Yet, this is a go-to destination for relishing some authentic Kerala seafood curries of the Alleppey variety.
This is the kind of place that doesn’t need reviews to thrive! A hotspot among the locals and the community around, they serve a variety of fish and the food is delectable!
The fish is absolutely mouth watering and fresh. Prices are super pocket friendly and the hosts are super energetic and friendly.
Overall a definite must try on your visit to Allepey!
I usually take photos of food in testuarant, but this time no photos, it is only because i was hungry i had a meals and podi meen fry half which totally cost only 100 rs taste was awesome, and kondattam pickle was average
Amazing food, a must try for any sea food enthusiast. Had a splendid course including the daily specials like Prawns roast and fish roe fried and man oh man was i in for a treat. Will be definitely hitting up the place the next time i visit the region
Very bad experience. Had to wait a bit to get first course of rice. The lady staffs are not responsible. Fish tasted good at first but some pieces tasted ammonium. There were only a few types of dishes. And very expensive for such a restaurant. This is a lower medium class restaurant with a large Hall without partition. Not air conditioned and limited parking space.wash area is outside the restaurant and limited facilities. But they charge like 5 star hotels. Definitely not worth the money that we pay!
Overpriced for a local setup like that. A medium sizes Varaal fish curry costs Rs. 500/-… very expensive for that cheap place Also very oily and too much red coloured food.
Poor service better avoid this place they have their own priorities on serving food if you can't meet their priority list you can eat plain rice a pickle and go home. It's just bussiness.
If you want to taste fish variety and not considering the amount then it's your destination. Average meals and overpriced tasty fish items. Don't buy fish egg thoran. You will lost your 200 Rs. Better go by group and share the items. Too hot inside the shop because of roof sheet.
A humble roadside restaurant to have freshly prepared fish items. Had Podi meen fry, prawns roast, baraal pollichathu, vatta fry. The best among them was baraal pollichathu
If you are looking for traditional fish dishes, here is the place. Don't look at the ambiance, just enjoy the taste of real fresh varieties. More than that the way the father and son treat customers as family members is awesome! You can simply go through the cooking area and choose what you need!
Best place for "ഊണ്" near cherthala 11th mile. But not on road side. Should take a turn from main road. So if u dnt know exact place.ask someone from 11th mile. Don't miss this.
Small place. Do not expect anything flashy. Dileep Ettan as the host is fondly called will however charm you. Fish is very fresh and not to mention awesome.
Fishes were fresh, so the dish too was tasty.no issues with quantity or quality.side dishes served with lunch was not tht great as they concentrate on people buying sea food dishes
The taste was just ordinary, and I did not feel it to be extraordinary for the price. It is just that they have a different variety of seafood at an exorbitant price.
Visited this place very first time—a small shop with not more than 20 seats, inconveniently placed near a railway cross. It's hectic during the lunch hours, and ques are expected daily. When you arrive, make sure that you are in the queue and always watch your position in it as most people try to get in as quick as they can. Dileepettan and his son (?) are very cheerful and welcoming and very apologetic for keeping the customers waiting for a long time in the queue.
This place specialises in meals with fish in all forms, fry, curry, pollichathu etc. We had kanambu fry, prawns fry, hammur curry, varal pollichathu, chembally curry along with rice.needless to say its very tastey. There are small parking areas near the shop but be very careful to stay away from the oncoming traffic along the road.
Must try place. I haven't eaten such a delicious 'karimeen pollichathu' ever in my life. This place is pretty small and may look below ordinary. But never let that simple outside looks deceive you. It's a taste paradise especially for fish lovers. But consider yourself very lucky if you get to eat from here without waiting in a queue. You will never regret visiting this place.
Very bad experince.food is so average and the fish items are ice cold as if they prepared it long back. At the end when we asked for the bill he took money ffor what we had never ordered.he is utilizzing people come to him. Will never recommend going there.
Best Seafood place in cherthala, reasonably priced fresh seafood. Good vegetarian meals. Had prawns roast fabulous and kalanji fry, fresh fish deep fried was nice
I had some expectations about it from vloggers.but its totally not fair. Overall ambianc is not that much but its ok, Quality of the food is good Quantity of the food bad Service good Taste and enjoying is avarage The price i think. Over price Overall experience was totally waste of time
I visited yesteday and had two meals with pronce and podi meen fry. Very bad ezperinces not tasty. Pronce has some bad taste may be not fresh or nor cooked wel pody meen over coocked and they expecting costomers coming in cars. And for this they charged 450.which is not worthy. Over hyped hotel. Pls avoid and visit small hotels who serve tasty food. I visted with my father to make him. Happy. But disaponted. Two meals+pronce+podimeen =450
Nothing much to say, the hype is real, This is a small hotel which can accommodate max of 20-24 people at a time, only lunch available, we can have a quality lunch along with a large verity of fresh fish dishes. Every one their are just amazing. Go have and enjoy
Very very expensive, only highly rich people can afford.we can find much better place near by cherthala with very" tasty "fish items having minimal price. This is my review, There are more than 500 reviews.there are lot of other views different from above said opinions.
Went there after watching some YouTube videos, it's a small restaurant which can occupy a max of 16-20 people at a time. The excellent hospitality, freshness and taste of the food makes it a must visit spot.
Hi I am from mumbai. So we went here for lunch on a friend recommendation. Food was good. But ambience is zero. It’s like one road side stall. Cost of fried fish is too expensive so ask the price before you order. Our bill was 3500 for 4 of us. This was the most expensive bill in our Kerela trip.
Average taste. Over rate. You can get better food at a cheaper price from other hotels in Alappuzha. At first this shop was reasonably priced. Now that it has become a hit due to media like Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc.they have also increased the price. When I first came here to eat it was the usual price.it was less crowded then.but now the good price is much higher.as well as no old taste. 05/01/2022
Tasty seafood dishes. They are managing very well with their limited space even no parking area. The only suggestion is to consider the prices of dishes, place a board regarding details of dishes prices. That will be good enough for ordinary people to understand how much they will spend.
