Good atmosphere and you get to live in close with nature. Perfect setting for families. Great Hospitality from the team. Good homely food and all the services provided are appreciatable. They will arrange a night jeep safari through Chinnar wildlife sanctuary which shouldnot be missed. Overall a highly recommended stay at Marayoor.

What a wonderful place to enjoy your holiday! Serene, quiet and calm place. Stepping inside this mudhouse means stepping into tranquility. I had my best quality sleep over there recently. The kinda privacy at poolside and backyard is awesome. Mr Sunny and team is always ready to cater to a craziest idea of yours. Wonderful place, amenities and hospitality at large.

Earthen Pool VIlla @ Marayoor, Idukki District is a great place to stay. It was the best experience staying in a mudhouse. Location is very beautiful and close to nature. This place is very well maintained. Staff (Mr. Sunny) was extremely friendly. Home cooked food was yummy. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Well maintained private pool. Excellent ambience.

I would highly recommend this place and I would definitely want to come back to this place again.

The best option to spend holidays with your loved ones with nature in its whole essence. The rooms are clean and well furnished with all ameneties. One of the finest mud house I have ever visited.
The entire cottage is build in mud and the art work on the walls are splendid. The host, Shalini & Binu have been so picky while the construction, we can see that on every tiny thing in the mud house which is very unique. The rooms are neat and clean with ambient space. Bathroom is really spacious and neat with all the amenities.

The main attraction of the cottage is the private pool. Majority pool villa's is like, when u open the door it ends in a pool, but here we have ample space, sit & relax and have a dive.

Myself i really loved the way this mud house has been constructed. Sunny took good care of us. The hospitality and entire experience was really nice.

Enjoyed 3 days and 2 nights stay at Earthen: The Mud Villa, Marayoor. Serene atmosphere, yummy homely food, very clean and hygienic, excellent hospitality. Kids enjoyed the private pool, watched star studded sky and the majestic mountains. Special thanks to Jo and family, and Sunny. Aluva to Mud Villa roads are quite good, even ok for senior citizens. Sunny took us for a tour of Marayoor and Kanthalloor and overall, it was a great experience. Hope to visit again. Thank you Shalini for hosting us.

The place is very calm and beautiful. If you are looking for a vacation without in your busy life, this is the right place for you. The host and everyone else associated with this stay are really nice people, especially Sunny and Jo. We went there with our one year old kid and it was one of our best vacation.
They provide homely food and all other facilities you require. Sunny is a good tourist guide too. He helped us to visit few beautiful places nearby and also helped us to get the best things from the local markets including veggies, fruits, tea and Jaggery.
We will visit this place again.

We’ve traveled extensively in Kerala and near by states, and we definitely vouch for this mud house stay.

This stay took us to our ancestors’ era
And yet with all modern amenities including private pool. Our kids enjoyed the pool thoroughly.

Courteous staff and good food is the icing in cake.

The mud house owner, Ms Shalini, had been super helpful throughout the stay. She started guiding us right from the time we started from Kochi. Such kind of care is unheard of.

We reached there by 3-4 pm we had booked pool villa and at a first glance i should say this isnt what we expected
The mud house and pool were of an excellent condition and neatness upto mark …
The mud house were of a bit different experience and it was a worth a stay
Staff behaviour too is awesome
We should clearly mention the staff sunny who helped us throughout the stay

Once we reached there under sunny’s guide ce we got a chance to see the unexplored areas nearby … which involves the lemon grass field of a tribal people, a tree house which put an soothing sunset view and a beautiful sight seeing area above the mountains …and nearby farm fields of variety of fruits and veggies.
Even then they suggested next day plans to visit nearby sight seeing places we wasnt able to get uo for the sunrise view as we have a toddler.we couldnt travel that long by walk

We had dinner and breakfast from ther

Our toddler thoroughly enjoyed the pool area … since the pool area isnt inside any roofs the night view of stars and moon by the pool was beautiful …
At morng too we could enjoy the bit hotness of sun and coldness of water

Disappointed part is scenery were a bit less …than we expected
The local home is just situated by front which destroys a bit of privacy and view of the mud house

OverAll the experience was good and a 4 star ratable place with its own beauty

Last week, me and my friends were on a four day trip and we decided to stay at Marayur on our way back from Parambikulam to Munnar.

The recently set up Earthen Villa caught my attention some time back and I thought this as an opportunity to try out the mud house. Gosh, the experience was surreal. The ambience of this mud house will give you a mix of tradition as well as luxury vibe as soon as you enter the premises. The art works and the handicrafts need a special mention. The one that surprised me was the huge bathroom. It has a separate dry and wet area and the whole set up is well designed. The private pool is pretty well maintained and you can enjoy the clear star-studded night sky from the pool if you are lucky. Overall, the cleanliness and hygiene of the stay is excellent.

The best part of the stay is the hospitality of the staff, especially Sunny and the good homely food they provide. The owner of the property, Shalini, is very helpful and courteous as well. Sunny took us to a nearby stream where we had a good dip in cold water. The next day early morning, we left for sunrise view, and visited the farms and view points in and near Kanthalloor.

If you are looking for a private stay with your family to relax from the hustle and bustle of city life and to experience villages and farms, this is one of the best option you have in Munnar.

Rustic, Beautiful, Nature and Special!
Time of visit: Easter weekend 2022 (2 days)

Had travelled to this discreet new place in marayoor with family. The owner, Ms Shalini has been extremely forthcoming with scheduling and making sure the stay was arranged as per our needs.
The property has been beautifully set up reflecting the local history and culture. The pre arrival expectations based on scenic ambient views of awesome Munnar properties partially fuelled by Instagram had to be kept aside to realise the beauty. This property has been exquisitely built to reflect the heritage of not just the construction of mudhouses but also life and art of unique this unique land and its people.
Special shoutout to the local host (Mr. Johin and family) and guide (Mr. Sunny) who were always around to make sure we had a great time. Mr. Johin had made sure we did not miss out on the easter church gatherings. Mr Sunny was ever at hand to show us around life all around marayoor including all the places to be seen. Sunny's special tea needs a mention here.

Overall, would totally recommend this place to anyone who wants to break away from a busy routine and take some time to feel and warm up to the marayoor lifestyle.
For me there was some amazing birds as well.

Ps: if not for the ambience (which really didn't make a difference in the end), perhaps the no telephone signals beyond Munnar town would be something I would like to mention as somethings that bothered me during the days.

No words to describe about the experience. Uniqueness in every part of the villa even in minute accessories. From the coat to waste basket.from the lamp shade to soap bowl.
Serene atmosphere and cleanliness everywhere. Hospitality in its peak. A place to relax or we compelled to be relaxed because of the entire ambiance
