The most peaceful and beautiful place one can ask for, feels like being in heaven, with lots of green outside and the nearby river. Ratheesh’s hospitality was beyond expectations - every request was answered with a smile and he was always willing to talk and explain about every question we had, we enjoyed every conversation we had with him. He also gave us a tour in his spice garden which is huge and beautiful.

In the middle of a rich and beautiful spice farm and at the end of a river located - East Stavanger Homestays of Ratish, Nito and the cute children Tirta and Dabush!
A welcoming and clean place suitable for families and those looking for peace of mind.
We stayed in a large room with a huge balcony overlooking a mountainous and forested landscape. We woke up to the singing of beautiful birds, which we observed from the room window.
We very much enjoyed the traditional food, wonderfuly cooked by Nito and Ratish. The children were able to taste many dishes cooked at an appropriate level of spiciness for them.
We had an amazing experience with Ratish (a man of the world) and his family, which made us extend our stay by a week and set a date for the next time we come to the area.

East Savanger is the best place to stay! We’ve been traveling around India for two months and this place has been the best one so far. If I could rate more than 5 stars, I’d do it.
Ratheesh, the host, is really nice and helpful. He is from here so he knows the area and he helped us telling us where to visit.
The food was amazing, we had breakfast and dinner there everyday and it was always something different. We tried many Indian food and we enjoyed them all.
The room was really clean and spacious. The terrace is big and with a beautiful view. They have a private waterfall and river, which are perfect to spend the day there.
We really enjoyed our time in East Savenger, with Ratheesh and his beautiful family. We’ll definitely come back someday!

Simply the best place I have ever stayed in India. The surrounding are just magnificent, full of beautiful nature. The room was so clean and confortable. This is a true hidden gem. Not only because it's tucked away in a secluded place in the middle of the "jungle", with the sound of the waterfalls in the background and the birds chirping, but it's a little paradise of peace, quietness and kindness.

The family running it is an amazing group of humans that go to any extent to make you feel at home. Ratheesh is not only knowledgeable (you can tell he is used to "customer service' and goes all the way to make you happy) and kind, but also incredibly helpful, fun and caring.

He was very responsive from the minute I contacted him, even came to fetch us at the bus stop (we never requested it!) and arranged everything when we needed it.

Food (we had b'fast and dinner) was yummy and in good portions. He provided us always with water (sometimes infused with cardamom, which was really nice) and whatever we needed. His plantation is an incredible source of plants, fruits, veggies and spices that they use personally and comercialize.

It's a little paradise to stay. We moved around in public transport (we took the bus to Munnar from the junction) and had no issues. The walk to the main road (about 1km) is so pleasant that we were happy to do it daily.

Loved every bit of our stay (we had 3 nights! Could have stayed longer).

Ideal for a quiet and relaxed holiday.the farm house is spic and span and just like home.the location is peaceful and free from the commercial touches of Munnar. Ratheesh from East Stavanger is very helpful and resourceful. He took us around his farm giving us a detailed tour of the spice and fruit plantation. Looking forward to visiting the place again!

Visited this place a week ago. 20 kms from munnar. One of the best experience. Rathees bro is very kind and nice host. Rooms are very clean. This place is kind of resort surrounded by beautiful spice plantations and other fruits and vegetables. There is a waterfalls nearby this place. We had food - Kerala chicken, chilli chicken, roti, rice and salad which was outstanding. For cooking they are using spices from their own plantation. It makes us to feel the freshness of food while eating. Affordable stay which you cannot get it in munnar main. Visit this place if you need a break from your city life. Overall worth!

Lots of reasons why one should opt for it.
1. Away from busy, congested munnar. If u r looking for a holiday, u need to check this out first.
2. Surrounded by hills, in the middle of virtual forest. Do i say more?
3. Ample options for trekking, hiking. 5 mins walk from a mini waterfall, where u can actually bathe under the falls.
4. Breakfast is delicious. Host, Ratheesh provided ample options for varied taste buds.
5. Host (Ratheesh) is head over heels to help and support the tourists. He arranged anything and everything that we asked for.
6. Do not miss the garden tour that he provides.

Absolutely awesome place to visit, beautiful cozy cottage. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the Owner (Mr. Ratheesh & Family). They were very friendly and helpful. Served delicious home cooked food. Would come back any time, so peaceful that you can hear nature singing all the time. There are many places to explore around. I would recommend people who love to stay amidst Nature can visit this place. Worth the money.

I have recently visited east Stavanger and stayed there for 2 days with my family. It was a pleasant experience. Clean and tidy room, beautiful and greeny atmosphere, very quite place. Mr Ratheesh was very helpful, foods he served us was very tasty.

We happened to stay at this place by sheer coincidence, and we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. The stay is amidst lush greenery and is adjacent to a stream, and it felt like it was straight out of a beautiful painting.

Our host, Ratish and his family were so welcoming and warm that we felt at home. The home-cooked food they served was the best we had on the trip. He was also gracious enough to give us a tour of their spice garden. If you plan to visit Munnar, you should try this place. Although it was a little away from Munnar, I would still consider staying here the next time I visit Munnar. It is totally worth it!

This is the best place I have ever been privileged enough to stay at. The owner of the property Mr. Ratheesh is an amazing person. I want to appreciate his hospitality and his kindness for making every need of mine.
East Stavanger is a wonderful place filled with greenary and privacy. Nature lovers will definitely like this place. The cost is affordable and food is also decent with complementary breakfast. We planned the trip for two days and extended upto four days because of this beautiful place and sweet owner. We travelled with our pet and the owner was very friendly and took real good care of us. The hospitality by them made us feel like it was our home. Overall it is a great place to stay and we highly recommend this stay for family and friends. Once again thanks to East Stavanger for making our stay so comfortable and pleasant! Next time if we visit Munnar this place will be our only choice.

Thanks to Ratheesh for being the best host. This is 3.5 acres property with very few rooms. Ratheesh showed us all the plantations in the property.

We went to nearby lake for swimming. Vegetarian food is excellent. I will strongly recommend anyone visiting munnar to stay in this hotel while it is still affordable. 2-3 hours day time is needed to roam around and swim in nearby lake.

It was sooo nice to stay here! It is very clean, cozy and quiet place. The waterfall is just 10 minutes of slow walking. Ratheesh was very helpful. Thank you for all the droppings up to the hill and for a nice ride to the mountain view point. Special thanks to Neethu - she is the best cook in India!

We cannot reduce even half points in the review. Really Natural ambience. Best place if u want to relax and spend some time in nature. Breath fresh air, swim in fresh water. Live with nature. More over no tourist or public disturbance. Ratheesh and family gave the feeling of such a host who made us forget that we are in a homestay. Felt like being in our own home. So truthful sincere and dedicated. And the spice garden around the house gave new learning experiences too. I enjoyed my morning yoga and dance practice very comfortably in the natural ambience

Outstanding location and host!
Located in the outskirts yet very close to Munnar, East Stavenger offers a tranquil, serene, extremely comfortable and ultra-relaxing stay amidst the breathtaking view of the Munnar Hills, and the sounds of chirping birds and the gushing waterfall nearby. Adding to that, what makes this place even more special is the amazing hospitality and warmth the host and owner Ratheesh showers you. He left no stone unturned to ensure I had the perfectly relaxing stay here. He arranged for a spacious sedan cab and driver Vishnu to pick me up from Kochi, for local sightseeing as well as for my onward journey at comparable rates.

Upon reaching, I was greeted by Ratheesh, his wife Neethu and their two adorable kids with a welcome drink. They followed all COVID protocols and proper levels of sanitization. Luckily i was the only guest for the week. The room was quite big equipped with a king-size bed, a dining cum study table, a fan and had an attached spacious washroom with hot-water. Apart from the scrumptious breakfast which is included with the stay, they also provide with Lunch, dinner and hi-tea at a very reasonable cost and Neethu's delicacies are worth relishing! On the first day, Ratheesh took me to a tour of his own surrounding plantation of spices, coffee, cocoa and many other fruits. He also arranged and took me to a nice Ayurvedic Massage centre and on the last day of my stay, took me on a tour of the local viewpoints! East Stavenger has totally won my heart! Will highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a relaxing holiday in Munnar.

East Stavanger is THE BEST place I visited and any person will fall in love with this place. This homestay truly deserves a five star rating. Mr. Ratheesh is a very humble person. He will help you to make your stay really good and he personally gives you a tour to his personal spice farm which is way better than many spice gardens. The food he serves is really good it is simple but tasty and you should not forget to visit the waterfalls near his place which are at just 2 min walking distance.

Best place ever been to. Me and my husband Sharath had been here on 17th January 2020. Mr. Balakrishanan & his wife were amazing hosts. This stay in between the lush greens was very neat n very well maintained. They gave us a healthy breakfast which was damn yummy and also having it watching the sunrise was even more pleasant. You can find pepper, nutmeg, garlic plants around their house. We had a great time here. The hospitality given by Mr. Balakrishnan will always make you want to come back. He's also a good guide. Thank you so much for having us Mr. Balakrishnan.

Hospitality was the best. The couple take care of you very well. The location is perfect. Rooms are spacious. Very clean and neat rooms. Bathroom also very nicely maintained. Balcony area is so nice to sit and watch the birds and forest. Very near a power generating station. You will always hear the water being released from the power station. There is a waterfall nearby. Beautiful to see. Season for waterfall in full capacity would be June to Oct. There is a way to even reach the river and enjoy some time feeling the water. Located 2 to 3kms from main road, need to go into interiors of forest. Very quiet place. Rateesh was very helpful in giving advice on which roads to take and what to see around the homestay. On the whole a very good experience.

Very polite and down to earth owner with helping attitude. We enjoyed our stay with tasty veg foods. It is an authentic natural place completely surrounded by hills plus his own estate with many spices plants. Overall a nice experience.

You wake up in the morning and the view in front of you is mesmerizing, you cant ask for anything better. <br/>The sound of water and the Birds just makes your morning unforgettable and on top of that the fresh tea served by the Host is just another plus. <br/>Host gives a tour to his own spice garden and believe me, that's worth the time and walk. Don't miss it for anything. <br/>Next thing is breakfast, which he serves as per demand and host has got a lot of options and taste is too yum! <br/>we had dinner at our home-stay which is reasonably charged and he prepares whatever you wish in veg and non veg, subject to you tell him in advance to procure the raw material.and my suggestion is to have dinner at home-stay only rather than outside, Neethu, is wonderful cook and makes you so used to of her cooked food in couple of days that you will surely miss it for entire trip once you leave his place.you will get authentic Kerala style food with home grown spices and freshness at its best. <br/>Ratheesh gave us tour to the nearby waterfall as well, which is very beautiful and kind of private to nearby home-stays as no one else is allowed to come and its saved as natural as it can be by avoiding the tourists. <br/>Ratheesh is very helpful in all the way and always there for any kind of support or suggestions.he kept helping us even after the stay and till we finished other places in Kerala. <br/>He suggested us the taxi person and that came out as best thing happened to us on the tour. East Stavenger is the best place to stay if you are really willing to spend some time in the lap of nature. The hosts Ratheesh and Neethu are just wonderful. Neethu is a wonderful cook I will miss her food. The hosts will seem to be at your service anytime. They are willing to arrange almost everything for you. Munnar is a little far from here but staying in Munnar is not advisable. The host arranged a taxi for me to go around and visit places and believe me Vishnu, the taxi owner is super sweet guy. He also helped me a lot.
If you decide to stay here you should carry enough supplies off your medicines and toiletries as this place is far off the market place. Although the hosts will offer their help but I don’t think you would like to bother them unnecessarily

East Stavenger is the best place to stay if you are really willing to spend some time in the middle amidst forest. The hosts Ratheesh and Neethu are just wonderful. Great hospitality. This really is an amazing place to stay: the hospitality and service from the hosts is incredible (they really cannot do enough to make sure you're comfortable), the food is great, and the location is perfect for relaxing for a few days. There's a even a waterfall about 5 mins from the house. Having stayed in Munnar a few times, this is one of the best guesthouses I've come across in the area.

Staying in east stavanger was one of the best things we did in our trip to Kerala. The rooms are newly built, very clean, bed is super-comfortable and there’s hot shower all day long. 5 minutes walk from the room there’s an amazing waterfall point to just sit and chill for hours. Rateesh, the host, is unbelievably nice and welcoming. He really guided us on where to go in Munnar and the area. Would definitely come again sometime!
