One of the most awesome place to stay. Courteous staff, Good Food, amazing ambience and scenic location. What more you need when you go for a vacation.

Very beautiful property located at walking distance from edakkal caves.
Staff is very warm and helpful. Special mention to Richard. Also the candlelight dinner in the cave which the property organised is a once in a lifetime experience. The ambience and vibe is beautiful.

We drove over an hour to in the night to witness the candle light dinner, it was truly one of the worst experiences we had when it came to the service of the manager and the food.
We paid the amount only and only for the experience and nothing else.
When we were about to leave the restaurant, the manager hid from us to avoid the confrontation of our horrible experience.
Would suggest this place only if you want to witness the candles in the cave and nothing else cause we dint find it worth it.
A simple apology would have made all this go away but….

I recently had the opportunity to experience a cave candlelight dinner, and it was truly a unique and memorable dining experience
The ambiance of the cave setting was absolutely enchanting. The soft glow of the candles created a warm and intimate atmosphere, and the natural rock formations added a touch of mystery and charm to the surroundings. The flickering candlelight dancing off the cave walls created a magical ambiance that was perfect for a romantic dinner. The service provided while staying and cave dinning time at edakkal hermitage was exceptional the staffs and and manager are so lovely they make our stay and that cave dinning so memorable.
The food served during the candlelight dinner was delectable. The menu featured a variety of gourmet dishes, carefully prepared and beautifully presented. From appetizers to desserts, each course was a culinary delight. The flavors were wellbalanced, and the portions were generous. It was evident that the chefs took great care in creating a memorable dining experience.
Overall am fully satisfied If you're looking for a unique and memorable stay and dining experience, I highly recommend this resort and trying a cave candlelight dinner.

There is a room named c5 where there is no key since 1947, and you will get stories for not giving the key in a daily basis

I never recommend anyone to visit this Place. High attitude owner (Mr. Vinod) and useless manager Shaji. I booked 3 rooms and the check in was at 1pm and we reached place at 2;30 and still rooms were not ready. At last they gave room at 4pm making us wait. Rooms were not clean and no daily from service. Totally service was pathetic. Please don't visit this place

I happen to visit this place on the way to edakkal caves. For some personal emergency went in the hermitage resort. They refused any help on face.

It is not worth the effort that we took to reach the place.

A tiny, spanking new tree house, for a very intimate couple is an easy climb up a bamboo ramp and gives you views out to forever. The terraced premises are exquisitely laid out, with soft grass and veils of Jacquemontia. The hospitality is unobtrusive and there is a home- stay feel to the dining. The jackfruit thoran and morkuzhambu are to die for, and when we get our morning appams we hurry to pour coconut milk over them before they float out of reach.
At night, dinner in a cave is a magical experience. On other nights, we are told, tables are set up under the stars on the stage of the amphitheatre. The same amphitheatre the next morning is ideal for bird watching. The surrounding trees are teeming with golden orioles, red cheeked bulbuls, coppersmiths, drongoes and tiny flitting things that hide in the shrubs. In the infinite distance the hills float on an ocean of mist.
The caves themselves, a vigorous climb from the resort are not to be missed. Apart from the mystery of the inscriptions and Neolithic rock art, the boulders that shape them are astonishing. A deep fissure on the far side gives us a clear view out to Phantom Rock, many miles away. The fissure was caused by an earthquake and reminds us of the fragility of even this massive natural formation and its hard document of the human presence. ”

It's a tough climb to the top. But at the end history awaits the form of inscriptions from the Medieval age

Resort being in cave.they use to it Thier advantage by not providing most of the basic facilities. Thier is not PC and hence they arents even aware of your booking
Checkin 1hour earlier.you are suppose to mke payment based on hours
Rooms are full of cob web and layer of dirt
No telephone in room.own phones you may not have network coverage always
They arrange one person from outside who comes to clean and still leaves the room with bad odour and cleans without even using water
The main manager on the day of checkout was rude instead of being polite despite low maintenance.we are too be blamed not the resort for not doing our research before booking
Do not go by pics.call the hotel check for facilities they provide and then decide
Even hotels with 2-3k per day were way much better. 5k we were charged
Breakfast items 4 only each day.

One of the worst and dirty resort I have ever stayed. Rooms, bathrooms even bedsheets are full of dust and found some lizard / rat waste inside the blanket. The photos they posted on website is 10 years before. I have changed the room three times after check in, because of not clean the room. The curtains of the room are covered with spiderweb and bathrooms tiles are covered with algae.
I had plan to stay there for two days, after one day stay, I moved to another resort.
I complained to resort manager Mr.shaji, he apologized and promised me the 20% discount on my payment. While check out, I paid the food bill and he doesn’t have change to give the balance. He collected my bank account details to transfer the amount. After one month, I didn’t even receive the amount.

The place was so nice and enjoyable.make our mind fresh, calm and cool.it is the best place for outing.

I hated it.nothing is there to visit.i suggest not to go. We have to walk so much and climb upto 400 steps.

Nothing is interesting in cave. They could have arranged jeep ride till the steps. It is very difficult to walk and reach steps area for elderly people.

Dissappoinred. There was no enough information available about the hectic walk and climbing up the nearly 500 steps. No Street side shop keepers mentioned about this as they keen about selling more water bottles and soft drinks to the exhausted ones rather than informing the public about the struggle some hiking. Have seen many kids, ladies, and elderly ones struggling to go up and had to stop at many points as they were not aware of it. Cars were stopped a kilometer away but same time locals are using their vehicles till the cave- office. Local government can construct a parking lot nearby and reduce the struggle of tourists, and which would definitely increase footfall.

Ahhh love this property, near to the edakkal Caves. Just 600mts. It is awesome, thanks to staff who took care of their guests specially Vinod and Adarsh. They were very helpful. Only drawback is the bathroom. We found hundreds of small spiders (might be just hatched). And road to resort is too steep, you need to drive carefully. Better you opt for delux rooms where the views are breathtaking.

I didn't see this place, heard from few tourists this place is not worth. I went there for half way and came back.

There are better treks in Waynad than Eddekal caves. If you like historical art then you should visit though there is not much and seems like the caves are preserved well.

It was awsum place. There is one of the best place i have seen, between two rocks there is a smaall gap.people must visit there

Like the Wild side!? This ought to be the place, friendly staff and quaint ambiance of the woods. Food is good, ask for Chicken Tribal Fry, Malabar Chick curry, goes well with Ghee Rice. Cave dinner is an ultimate experience of a life time and is charged but worthwhile. Trekking to pristine peaks are done on one day prior request and do not miss the sunrise trek

Climbing is so easy i was visited here 13 year back it was very adventure to climb, now there are very easy steps

The location of the resort was amazing. After checking a lot of options I had booked this resort as my friend had suggested me. We had booked for cottage rooms for 2 nights 3 days through make my trip for 12500 around for 4 people.

So, once we reached here we found that the way to reach the resort was difficult to drive but manageable. The driver needs to be good for sure. And then, we were given rooms that looked like standard rooms and when we asked the manager there he told us that they had cottage rooms of 2 types and standard rooms were different. So we spent one night in that standard kind of room but the view was great from there.

Also, when we questioned that 3 categories were not mentioned in make my trip Mr. Vinod told us that marketing people have not updated that on the app. And the check in was at 1 pm actually and we were given early check in at 9 am. So he actually started telling us that even we would have to pay for early check in so we left it there.

And the 2nd day after coming back in the evening we were shifted to the cottage rooms that we actually paid for. Those rooms were really amazing.
The whole resort was great but I dint like the fact that they made us stay in standard room for a day and a half.

They have a in house restaurant and the food there was good. Also, I love their breads the most. The toast was great. On the 2nd night they even arranged for a camp fire. And Mr vinod arranged for a visit to the meenmutty heights resort and we dint have to pay anything.

I'd recommend this resort as everything was great. But make sure you re confirm with them regarding your rooms before actually booking and checking in.

Very cool place. The rooms are always clean and neat. The management and staffs are very helpful.

The trekkikg to the cave is not so easy. The steps are very steep. You must carry some water. The no.of visitors are limited to less than 480.

Awesome place. I didnt even trek. Just went some 700 metres and still I enjoyed. There is something in this place. I could not explore wayanad much but I bet you should go here only if you can walk 1.5 kms and then climb some 300 stairs. I went with my parents and obviously didnt expect them to trek. So just clicked some pictures and came back.
