Elephant Pass Ayurveda and Yoga Retreat Resort Kerala

Great property from a value for money perspective, clean rooms, friendly staff, the ayurvedic treatment was good experience, most massieurs were committed and sincere, the one observation though was that for the same treatment, different massieurs follow different steps, the ayurveda doctor on sight spend substantial amount of time per patient to understand issue history before suggesting the treatment that would have the most impact depending on the days you plan to stay, the food was simple and tasty, the menu was set, wish we had some more options like local seasonal fruits, traditional kerala deserts etc and also the option for food to be made available as per request rather than stipulated 3times i.e breakfast, lunch & dinner with specific timing. Will definitely like to make more visits to elephant Pass

Less crowded (few rich people) town with good river side property. Even though its not a 5 star resort.it definitely has all the basic amenities and a really quite place to spend time with family and friends. Perfect place to find ayurvedic and yoga therapy.
A must visit if you do not like places with high foot fall of tourists.
Service was apt with manager abhishek meeting all requirements. Staffs were also very good.
Rooms were decent enough and bathrooms tidy.
Vegetarian food at affordable price.

Location was really spectacular. Rooms and service was very poor! They don’t have even basic amenities such as bed sheets, food on site, proper functioning ACs. Will not recommend to anyone unfortunately

We spent 10 days in the resort in February and had an incredible time. We booked a package with full board and two treatments per day. The treatments were brilliant and the ayurvedic food absolutely outstanding. The resort is very well maintained and located directly on the river, with a beatiful view and stunning sunsets. We came to recharge, relax, sleep and eat healthy and managed to do all of that.
Yoga sessions must be booked and paid for separately.
The staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive.
Several excursions are possible from the retreat - staff will help with booking. Our advice would be to first spend a few days in Kochi and do all the explorations from there, and then go to the retreat. The elephant resort moved away several years ago and is now about 10 mins away by taxi.

Location is riverside, very beautiful, food was authentic kerala food, they also offer ayurvedic massage which we didn't experience, staff is very friendly, only thing some improvement in rooms infrastructure can be done.overall stay is memorable.

Good stay at a good location. Neatly maintained property. Friendly staffs. No food available for dinner. But they will arrange it from outside restaurant.

Excellent location as it is close to the river Periyar. The view of sunset is magnificent from this location. The resort is appealing to everyone.

Okay place with good view. No much options for food. There was no power when we visited and hence no AC and hot water.

It was actually a let down!

Overall the resort is good, ambience was perfect. It is a riverside resort with peaceful surroundings. They have river facing swings and seating arrangement to unwind and relax. They have massage options. We got full body massage done. It was good for 1800/-

but no dinner or evening snacks were made available. They said they don’t serve dinner. They were ready to order but veg options were limited so we made ourselves maggi for dinner.

Tv was not working. Hot water was not available.

Overall Ok for the price

Visited this resort two weeks back along with my family. Had a nice experience. The location is excellent. The resort is located on the banks of the Periyar river. The place is very near to Malayattoor Pilgrimage. The weather was perfect. There is a lush green meadow with a small garden, where we can sit and relax listening to the ripples of the river and the murmuring sound of the bamboos.

Three types of rooms are available here.
Cottage room - 3k, A/c room - 2.5k, Non A/c room- 2k. Cottages were already full. We got a Cottage and an A/c room. The cottage room was fine, but the room amenities were not that great. The bedsheets and pillow covers seemed a bit worn out. The A/c and the Heater in the A/c room were not functioning. It was a bit frustrating but we adjusted. We didn't want to spoil the holiday mood.

The service was great. The staff tried their best to keep us happy. The restaurant is available, but not operational. Food was served from some outside hotel. It was good and not at all expensive. Breakfast was complimentary and tasted very nice. Ayurveda, Spa facilities are also available here. We didn't avail any, as we were running out of time. The staff was very helpful. As the A/c was not functioning, he gave a discount on room rents also.

Parking space available for 3-4 cars maximum. Don't worry, cars can be parked outside also. The road to the resort seemed like an off-road trip. Overall we had a nice experience and our family loved the trip.

I stayed with my fam in elephant passage for 2 days and it was such a memorable one, the facilities, food, ambience everything was so pleasant.
We had an entertainment session with suresh which was amazing.
Rooms were very clean and will recommend for families.

Their service is great and Vipin is a fantastic masseuse. All the staff treated me with the most respect. The food was very good as well

This place is a bliss to stay for. Such amazing views from every room, wonderful stay along the banks of Periyar River.
Only minus is that there's no restaurant. But when you ask for food the caretaker gets food from a homemade place nearby and that tastes amazingly awesome.
It's a perfect place for relaxation everyday waking up to the birds chirping, mild Breeze, the calmness around is so good you can hear the river flow. Such a serene atmosphere.

Both my ageing parents wanted to spend some time at an Ayurvedic resort for Kerala Ayurvedic treatments. I book an appointment at Elephant Pass Ayurveda and Yoga Retreat, Kerala. It's a small riverfront ayurvedic resort but after the 7 day ayurveda rejuvenation treatments thay had a great experience and I was so glad to hear that! They also liked the amazing ambience at the resort as well as the food served. Thanks a lot to the Elephant Pass Ayurveda management and the whole team.

Hidden gem of a place by the side of the periyar River. All rooms are River facing and they have AC as well as non ac rooms at reasonable rates. They also have two cottages for families. An ayurvedic doctor on prior appointment and an ayurvedic massage room with separate well trained male and female therapist adds to the facility of the place. (A 45 min full body massage costs 1500) Rooms are neat and well maintained and so is the outdoor area. Food is served in the indoor Cafe as well as the garden if intimated in advance. The only issue is that their on-premise kitchen only serves tea, coffee and juice while the meals are ordered from a restaurant nearby. The caretaker Mr Purshottam is a man Friday and prepared piping hot tea for us at 5.30 in the morning and having that in the garden looking at the river and hearing the chirping birds was a once in a lifetime experience. For those interested in bathing in the River, there's a location close to the resort

No people Monday through Friday. On Weakend some people came. Food is brought from local restaurants. Restaurant closed inside resort. Nice quiet place. Very relaxing. Staff are good.

Good place for a getaway far from the city life. Located at the bank of the kodanadu River, the grassy lawn and bench with swing arranged at the river bank gives a relaxing feeling during evenings.
Kitchen needs big time improvement coz there isn't much options than tea/coffee/lime juice.

Small rooms and food was not s great. The way towards the resort is very small and congested. The view from the rooms are marvelous

The place has beautiful scenic views of periyar river and the surroundings are the best to sit back and relax. The place is bit interior, still there is proper road access to the property. Rooms are of middle category. There was an elephant training camp nearby, and the elephants are taken to the river in front of the resort. Hence the name elephant pass. But now the training center has shifted to some other place.

Right in the lap of mother nature. A great place to go if you're looking for Refuge from city life.

Silent place, nice garden, it could be boring because outside is nothing good to walk.but you can visit elefants

While the place has obvious potential we did not enjoy the level expected for the price. Wi fi and Tv not working, bad smell in the room, dirty sheets and no hot water in one of the 2 rooms we had. When we realize around 8pmall above we could not find anybody at the reception to try to fix it. Luckily it was just one night. The food was fresh and tasty and the staff very attentive As we were the only guests there. I a writting not just to warn others but in the hope the management will take note and address those problems. In short greatly overpriced for what we got As oppossed to what was described in their info.

Really enjoyed my stay at Elephant Pass Retreat - excellent venue to relax and rejuvenate. Amazingly helpful and attentive staff, the doctor, yoga teacher, and massage therapists are outstanding. Highly recommended!
