Estuary Sarovar Portico, Poovar Island

They have very big compound, good quality resturant and nice amenities. However Estuary view room we booked wasnt cozy and corridors were poorly maintained. Housekeeping service definitely needs to be improved

They need little more experienced staff at least in reception
Waited me more than 30 minutes for check in even not at rush time

Superb property, very good service, good food, pool weren't clean (probably bcoz of Covid-19), few doors knobs etc weren't working. Otherwise a great place to stay!

Its Beach front Property. Rooms were good nd food was tasty and served beautifully.
The view was mesmerizing. Service was good. The only bad was high tea snacks.

This property might have some history, but the way it's being managed currently is worst. Food quality is reduced, HK staff will be around you one hour earlier than checkout time, forcing you to leave.

Nice rooms stayed there from 28th to 40th Dec, North Indian food is not proper and way too expensive according to the richness, I ordered Gulab Jamun and it was bad than any local sweet shop in north india, checkout the pic, but the stay and the property are well maintained.pool was closed due to covid.more time shud be provided to guest to stay at the beach.it should be more like an on call service.so that they can come and pick us whenever we want to.

Beautiful property. Good service from staffs from all the departments from the reception to restaurants and housekeeping. It was really a surprise to see the special table you arranged for our anniversary. Thankyou Justin and his team.thankyou for making us feel comfortable.

The only star that I am giving is for the cleanliness of the rooms and the not so bad looking property. The food was below average for a 5 star rated property. Dessert options were pathetic. Starter item of the afternoon menu (gobi manchurian dry) was there for the dinner buffet under a different name (peaking cauliflower). How lame is that! Even after being a 5 star property, they don't provide the guests with the basic amenities in the room, like dental kit, laundry bag, hangers, hair dryer, sewing kit, earbuds, restaurant menu etc. Mini bar was vacant. The shower in the bathroom wasn't working properly. The drain gets clogged while bathing for a minute or two. The bed was very old, affecting the posture of person lying on it. While checking out, they didn't even ask for the feedback from the side of the guest, which clearly indicates their lack of interest in quality management. They provide a complimentary ferry service to the other side of the beach, which runs only for a very limited time, during which when we asked for trip, they were reluctant to do so. The guy said that they wound up the service, even though it wasn't actually the deadline time. Will never recommend this to anyone planning for a vacation. Not coming back down there.

Beautifully crafted to fit with the nature, one of the most elegant and perfectly designed resorts in and around poovar. Estuary as the word says, the river-mouth at poovar cannot have a perfect view nowhere other than sarovar portico. The pool villa is one of the best in its kind and kids really enjoyed being in the private pool and the spacious room and living area. We will visit the place again, but next time it will be minimum of two days, the river-mouth view round the clock is too ravishing. The staff, service and the food is best of its kind. Folks, if you ever visit trivandrum extend your stay for atleast a day and find time to be at this paradise @Gods Own Country.

Very Good ambience: very poor service. Basic items not available in the rooms. Unnecessary delays for check in. Water availablity is poor. No vehicles provided for check out, like they say, don't come back.

I want their like 3 month as a senior associate f&b. I want to suggest them one thing.take care your associate they will take care of your guest.this feedback for GM.

Its an amazing experience to stay at this hotel resort. You will get all the 5 star amenities and service. The rooms are pretty big and clean. The beach view you get from this resort is mind blowing and the best place for photo shoot We were for a honeymoon trip and got a complimentary upgrade to Estuary View Room. They do arrange candle light dinner as well. I would recommend to stay here at least for a day, if anyone visiting Kovalam.

One of the best blackwater resort in Poovar, Kovalam. Good and friendly staff. Well maintained rooms and resort. Lots of free space for activities like fishing, cycling, sports, etc. Swimming pool is very clean and the seenary is very beautiful. Private pool resorts are vailable. Full resort is well maintained. Tasty food but the rate is not affordable for the normal people's.

Located right on the estuary, it's a vast luxury resort with lot of greenery within the property. The resort has lot of places to chill around or just take a romantic stroll around the property. They offer complimentary boat rides to the beach in the morning and afternoon. To reach the beach you need to cross the estuary for which you need the boat. Please check the timings once you reach there. About the beach, it's very steep towards the sea, so unsafe and the lifeguards there won't allow you to go into the sea. Just sit on the sand and relax. They also offer few activities like boat ride through the back waters (chargeable), which was a superb experience.

Stayed for 2 days in the estuary view room and what a view it had of the estuary from the balcony, perfectly splendid! You can enjoy a beautiful sunset from the balcony itself. Room was quite spacious and beautifully organized. It was our anniversary so the hotel staff did a sweet surprise decoration of the room for us with in inhouse flowers.

Restaurant: 4/5
The restaurant present right besides the esturay has a nice ambience and cordial staff. Food was good, but the menu options are less. Tried few north indian dishes, which wasn't upto the mark. But loved the Chinese food. Breakfast spread was superb, lots of options and nicely prepared. Alcohol is not served within the property due to govt.regulations.

Covid precautions: 5/5
Bags of the guests are sanitized at the reception on reaching the resort. Santizers are placed at all vital areas. We didn't find a single staff without mask. You will feel totally safe in the resort.

Negatives:
On our 2nd day of stay, most of the guests had vacated the resort. So, to save on some operating cost, most of the lights in the resort common areas were switched off which made it too dark in the night and a bit scary. Even the lights in the corridors were switched off. I had to switch on the corridor lights in front of my room. This is not acceptable in a 5 star resort. This is the only reason I'm giving a 4 star rating.

A good place to spend time with family, friends. Resort overlooks the Poovar Beach, Rooms are spacious and it is so pleasant and calm.
This resort has acres of area which is very good and lot of greenery. The way they arranged each building is good. It has a very good parking space. Landscaping is very good and scenic. Families can enjoy with kids.
They provide free boat service for the beach as well. Staff are very courteous, Breakfast was good and dinner was spendid but expensive.

Great place to spend a day relaxing with the amazing beach side view at Poovar. The food is excellent especially the buffet. Good spread of dishes with top quality for affordable prices. Different varieties of rooms to choose from if you decide to stay the night. Decent selection of outdoor and indoor games like shuttle cork, basket ball, snookers, chess, table tennis. Good place for a gathering of family and friends, even alone just to relax.

Very D-rated ambience.especially garden view rooms are very old type furniture and tiles looking very dirty and feels like a dormantory

Beautiful location managed by few folks who doesn't know how to manage it. They claim to be a 5 star property, but the facilities are not even equalling a 2 star one. The rooms are overpriced and doesn't even have basic cleanliness and doesn't have things like dental, shaving kits provided. Disappointed to have spent so much on nothing

The resort - I believe the 5 stars of a resort are awarded considering the facilities available, not on how well they are maintained. Rooms are okay not excellent. Furniture and decor looks old and tired. Wash basin had cracks. Bidet was leaking. Wood and trim require a coat of fresh stain.

We were having an office day outing. Best palce to have many fun activities. We spend a whole day. Swimming pool was great. Also there r boat service.

We had lunch buffet. Food was nice. Not much choice for veg.

I am planning to stay agin with my family. Kids will love this place for sure.

The reaort is very nice. Good location. But the food is not so good. Its overpriced and not too good. Food options are also not much. As the resort is far from any nearby place going out to dine is also not an option. Would recommend that you take some eatables with you so that you have some thing to munch on. Masala peanuts for 300 bucks is too mych

Boat ride was just awesome, even better than Periyar boat ride.

We did not enjoy our stay at the estuary island. We initially had to change rooms because of the musty old room we were allocated which had spiders. The new room we got was almost as bad, the lift made us feel like we were going to prison. It was old and very poorly maintained.
Then we had a whole series of bad experiences, including getting someone to repair the tv, housekeeping barging in without knocking several times etc.
Two stars for the property which is beautiful and overlooks the backwaters. Food at the restaurant, especially breakfast was just about okay. Definitely not worth the money we paid.
Do not recommend staying here until they renevote the property!

A blissful resort, a must visit when you are in Kerala. Lovely property, clean and well maintained. Cheerful and polite staff. Resort offers many things to do like spa, swimming, trampolines, hammocks, boat rides, etc. Food is delicious and the spread is good. Overall, a wonderful place to stay!

Great place to stay for a day. The pools are clean and well lit, there's a sandy beach like area near the estuary and breakfast is brilliant. Though dinner service may find you asking for more. They have a boat service which will sell you at the beach and a small area for kids to play around in.

It's such a beautiful place to spend a vacation with family. The view from the property is mind blowing. We loved the property.

Loved the location. Hospitality was also not a problem. But my child got sick after swimming in their pool. The chemical they use to clean their pool water gave my child severe stomach infection. The staff is aware about the issues their pool water has. Hopefully they do something about this issue.

Good place, interesting boating in the back water but expensive.boating charges is very high 5 person at rs 4500/- for 90 minutes

Lovely & perfect getaway place, comfortable rooms, amazing service & staff, delicious food with lots of variety in cuisines. Located in the backwaters it serves awesome view and an easy access to enjoy the beach. Pools, bar and the resort amenities adds to the luxury this resort provides.

Another backwater.smaller relative to aleppy. Boat service is there.with Mangrove experience. You would spot a large number of water birds there.

They have raised cost too much.and show nothing.but gold sand beach is good.but not as worthed as they cost.bargaining reduces the amount 5-6 times lower.but the tourists who are new amd don't know about this bargaining are misleaded.

Excellent place to relax. From the parking lot you are taken to the reception in a golf cart. They welcome you with sandhanam and welcome drink. We booked the garden cottage and rooms were excellent. In room dining price is higher so please make sure you goto the ripples restaurant near the waters. Restaurant staffs are really caring. I would like to specially thank Sujeesh who is one of the managers in the restaurant, Prince a wonderful chef who cooker specifically to our needs wilfully and Jibin who made sure we enjoyed the comfort during our meal. Reception staffs and house keeping staffs response are amazing and cater to very small needs of us quickly with a smile always. Swimming pools, trampoline, boat ride across to beach, indoor games, their relaxing rope swings overseeing the sea, scenic places in resort for beautiful pics with family. My family enjoyed throughly and will surely visit again and recommend this place to others.
