We had a great getaway! The propritor/host Varun is a very friendly person and gave us good hospitality, and took all the feedback in a very positive manner. They have canoes which can be used by guests, which is used to go to the beach, which was indeed a unique experience!

One of the nicest places we stayed in india.the staff does everything to make your stay great (special thanks to noby, they always had something special for our kid to offer in the restaurant) - enjoyed the pool and the boat ride to the beach a lot.great restaurant!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Flamingo Boutique Hotel.
The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The staff were all very kind and hard working and made us feel very well looked after.
We loved being able to canoe to the local beach which was often completely empty, perfect for relaxing under the palm trees.
The food in the restaurant was very good, would recommend the biriyanis.

The experience was ok. But it was not kid friendly as there was not enough space for them to play. The food was overpriced. I think its more of kind of homestay. It could have been better for the charges they are demanding.

Being a frequent traveller Flamingo is by far the best hotel for me. Excellent location close to the beach and the best thing is the river & the canoe ride to the beach, a unique experience. The resort itself has the best scenic beauty and do give a taste of the Heritage. Rooms are huge with big bathrooms. Breakfast was included and had a very good variety of food. Very friendly and helpful staff specially George and Edison. Special thanks to Varun, the owner and Vichana, the desk lady for all the help and making our vacations remarkable.will definitely recommend this resort on the basis of a 10/10

Heavily overpriced. Not worth 9500 we paid for this experience. Either reduce the room tariff or improve the service offered

-Age old and shabby furnitures in the reception
-Bed linens are old and not so neat
-Torn curtains
-Dust, lizards and dust in the room and balcony
-Room was filled with mosquitoes (they provided mosquito bat & net upon request)
-Bathroom was stinky and had mosses on the floor
- Not peaceful, as the room we got was near the road
- Complimentary breakfast buffet had very limited options. 1 Kerala bf, bread, French toast, Fruits and eggs upon request. Ordered an egg and we didn’t even get it even after we finished our bf. And almost all the dishes were empty whenever we checked, had to request the staff to get food. There were only 2 staffs at the restaurant.

We had a wonderful stay at Flamingo Boutique hotel. The good was amazing (one of the best we had in India) and the staff was friendly, helpful and attentive all the time. The pool, common area and room were very clean and nice. One of our highlights were the canoes of the hotel, with which we could paddle to the beach.

Unfortunately my wife became ill during our stay. On check-out day the manager himself drove us to the hospital and managed that we could stay in the room longer, while we waited for the arranged airport transfer.

All in all the stay was perfect und we can't thank you enough.

A beautiful setting for a hotel. Booked last minute and wasn’t disappointed. Lovely old colonial style property with beautiful rooms and the biggest bathroom I’ve ever had in a hotel. Situated by a river, where you can use the hotels canoes to canoe to the beach. Dinner was excellent. Staff were very kind, courteous and accommodating. We hope to return for a lengthier stay. Definitely recommend!

My trip to Allepey, kerala has been great.it was the best decision to stay at Flamingo Marari Boutique Hotel.an old kerala style Home transformed into a boutique hotel.what can be better than experiencing the authentic interior style of the this place, that too nearby the Marari Beach. Managed so well by the owners themselves.smooth checkin process by
Ms. Vichana, and very attentive to any request made by me.the food was also up to mark. Cleanliness has been taken care of so well. I am sure their upcoming property in allepey will be a successful project. All d best to the entire team

Quite good place we were crazy group with 4 kids.they were patient to take our mess.beautiful heritage place. Excellent place to stay with family, very quiet when we stayed. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great location, good Kerala vibe as well.

We did an impromptu booking at The place, a phone call and we got the booking confirmed. Since it was a last minute booking, we were a bit skeptical as to how the place would be. But once we reached there, we were blown away. It was such a wonderful and beautiful place. It was an old house which has been converted to a boutique hotel. Well kept, pristine, traditional architecture style, too good. The food that was served, whether its dinner or breakfast was all really good. They even have a small canoe which you can use to reach Marari beach.
Totally worth it and recommended!

My friends and I organised a girls trip in May 2022. We stayed overnight in Flamingo Marari – It was an absolute delight. Right from the beautifully maintained property (which is an ancestral home converted to into a resort), the surroundings, food, and service – Everything is taken care off to the smallest detail. The brothers (Varun and Rahul) who own and run the resort were more than welcoming and went the extra mile to ensure we were well taken care off. Special shout out to the staff (especially Akhil) who were always there to ensure we were well taken care off while also being mindful of our privacy. May is rather humid in Kerala, so we really enjoyed the pool and poolside post sunset.
The beach is just about 400 m away and we accessed it via the backwaters from the resort. They have some-one to ferry you over to the beach or you can try it on your own (which was a lot of fun). The beach is not private however it was nice and quiet. The food was tasty – everything about the place feels very homely. It’s a 4* resort that makes you feel right at home. I recommend it to people visiting Kerala and looking for a peaceful and enjoyable time. I look forward to going back soon:)

Pros:
The boat rowing experience was really a good experience.
Food was not very high priced unlike other resorts.
The staff was very friendly and was very helpful whenever we were in need of anything. We had a 2 year old with us who needed milk often. The staff was always at help whenever we had called them for anything.
Cons:
The space was very less compared to other resorts for the price it charged us which was around 7k
They are charging an additional price if the family has kids above 5 years old.
Pool is extremely small pool. No kids pool.

Hosted my friend's Bachelorette here. Since I was not from here, I took help from the owner to arrange the photographer, backdrop and a few requests. There is not even a single negative about the experience. Here you can just chill and relax. The views? Awesome. Rustic at the same time modern. The restaurant, it's so good. Try the chemeen ularthiyathu. The staff is so nice and hospitality minded, they left such a good impression on my guests from Tamil Nadu. The restaurant staff is also so great, specially George, who has excellent knowledge about wine and wine related terms. The cleaning chechies are so sweet their smiles and attitude. And hats off to Varun, who always "understood the assignment" as our generation would say. So if you have second thoughts about booking here, just go ahead and discard those thoughts and book as soon as possible.

The place is large and well kept. Airy and clean rooms. Traditional furniture and a typical decor helped make the place feel authentic.

The place is right on the back waters and a couple of canoe (which you can use) allow you to explore the back water at your leisure. Bird watching delight.

The food is good and the management personalized it for our preferences - vegetarian and child feiendly.

Fantastic hospitality and a special kudos to Varun and Rahul (the owners) who ensure that the guests feel at home. They also organized a bunch of avtivities including a cultural evening with a performance of Kathakali and traditional martial arts display.

The only down side is that as townies, it takes a little effort getting adjusted to the creepies and crawlies which are part of the experience.

There is not enough that you can say about this place, just 75 km away from cochin international airport lies this beautiful hamlet by the name Mararikulam. A quaint beautiful and unbelievably clean town. And in the midst of this beautiful setting is Flamingo Boutique Hotel, one of the best boutique resorts i have been to. You are warmly welcomed by Mr Varun and Mr Rahul the owners and locals who bring in the family touch to everything they do here. We were here for 3 nights and I cant think of anything that we thought off, and they didn't make it possible for us. We have one of the best welcomes ever, which energized us all. From kite flying to kayaking, from the traditional Sadya to the ancient Kalaripayattu, to the amazing and painstaking efforts of the Kathakali and the team performing for us. We had it all here.

I would recommend it to all those who want to immerse themselves in this amazingly clean and beautiful place, which offers you a chance to slow down and look around!

One thing is certain on the day of your check out, you would feel you should have stayed for an extra day! <3!

Budget boutique hotel with nice ambience, spacious rooms and superb pool. Beach is very near by we can use their fishing boat to beach.

We went in a big group of 6 families to enjoy two relaxing days.
The good part is the rooms are spacious and bathroom too. Its an old styled building so can't be compared to the five star resorts you normally go to. More of a homestay like feel.
The amenity of rowing canoe to the beachside is a good experience but they don't have a private beach and you have to walk or take a car to reach the beach otherwise is the flipside. Swimming pool is ok and staff are well mannered.
The negatives are food is quite expensive and average. Buffet is missable. Barbecue was missable.
Lack of space is evident as soon as you see the gate and parking. Quite congested for a big group. No activities at all for kids. Can be quite boring if you are a single family. No indoor games or activities.

We spent Christmas eve 2021 in Flamingo resorts and had the whole place to ourselves booked for the entire family. The stay was fantastic with the property being so scenic and well maintained. The view is Fantastic and it's an amazing place to sit around and enjoy with loved ones. The staff were friendly and helpful and the host/ owner always made sure everything is fine. The food was also yummy and had something for everyone s palate without being too spicy or greasy. Rooms are spacious and luxurious for for a family of four. Overall it was a fabulous stay and would recommend it over any star hotels in city!

The hotel has free canoeing which my family loved. Everything was amazing. The stay was peaceful. And it’s very much near the beach. The beach is one of the most beautiful ones I have visited. And the staffs were very kind and helpful. The price we paid was worth it.

Had a great stay at Flamingo. Tastefully decorated large rooms, helpful staff and great breakfast. Canoeing from the back of the resort along the canal to the beach was the highlight. We'll visit again.

Cozy, well maintained space best suited for a weekend with family or friends. Staff was very courteous and attentive. The breakfast spread was good too. There is the provision to use a canoe to row towards the beach or to walk 400m. But the beach is not private and used by locals for sanitation.

A very well maintained resort perfect for a weekend getaway. We went there with our 2 kids (1 and 4). We had a great time and really enjoyed the stay. The room was so elegant, the food was amazing and the staffs were really helpful. Our kids had their first pool experience and they really enjoyed it.
We went to the nearby beach, but there were lot of dogs and they were barking at us.the kids got terrified and we didn't had a good time at the beach

The staff is exemplary - courteous, warm and ever smiling. They accommodated us so well during this time with limited resources. The promoters engage with the guests personally and give you great insights into how the hotel came up to the shape it is in now. Family members casually check on the guests as they move thru the premises to check on the staff and the upkeep.

This is an amazing place to stay with friends and family. We were there for a weekend with family and cousins. The food was really tasty. The pool was perfect and we loved the canoe experience. The beach was just 2 mins by drive or you could canoe to the beach. Also loved the hospitality of the staff. The chechys there always had a smile on their face. The restaurant staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Looking forward to visiting again.

It was an amazing experience we felt at Flamingo marari boutique hotel mararikulam. Everything was perfect from the check in time to the checkout time. The location was Excellent. This resor is well maintained and The owner and Staffs are very cooperative and friendly. Food is also good. The little canoe rowing through the nearby canal to the beach is awesome. If you don’t know rowing, the staff will do it upon request. The beach is neat and clean with slow tides, we can swim and play there without fear. The view of sunset is beautiful. The pool is clean and perfectly maintained. We will visit here again.

We stumbled upon this beautiful property quite by chance when another booking went wrong. We were a group of 4 families with children of all ages (3-17) and it's safe to say that we all had a wonderful stay. We especially loved the decor.so aesthetically done. Also, the rooms and bathrooms were spacious and super comfortable. We will definitely visit again!

Where should I start. The stay was so much more than we expected. From the rooms, to the ambience, to the detailing of the furniture and the exceptional architecture! I cannot begin to stress on the food! From even noticing small details like the guest likes mashed potatoes to delivering that as a gesture, to the complete need we had for our baby on board! The passage to the beach through a canal in a vanji was another experience! Let me sum it up for you, Book!

Our gang had a great weekend at Flamingo, Marari. The resort and its location was a perfect hangout spot. Though it was a last minute plan, Mr. Varun could help us out with booking and made the timings flexible. Kudos to the host and the staffs for making it a memorable stay. Thanking everyone at flamingo and would definitely recommend it.

I have stayed in many of the resorts. But this is the best in terms of food, hospitality amd customer service. We feel really satisfied by the way they took care of the guests. Not even one complaint. We got everything we wanted. I could even witness the owners themselves serving guests. That was really overwhelming. The boat ride is one which my husband loved and its indeed a great experience. The food was really tasty. Thank you so much. Planning to visit the place any time soon.

A beautiful property with unique artifacts in every nook and corner of the property. Also has a restaurant with excellent food and service to make the stay comfortable while traveling with kids and family. To top it up it offers an unique option to use a small row boat for a short travel to a semi-private beach using the back waters

The best resort in Alleppey Kerala. If you haven't been here.just do that immediately! The hosts are simply the best I have ever seen! The food is crazy good and much to anyone's surprise very reasonably priced! Just had the best possible way to end the worst possible year! Thanks to the flamingo marari staff.

Good atmosphere. Traditional looks. Rooms good. Open air bathroom was a new experience. Not very spacious premises. Food was good but slightly on the expensive side. Staff very cordial. Breakfast could have more variety with continental food also.

Excellent Indian food. No beer / wine rights but they solve this discreetly anyway.

Located 500m from the beach and you can borrow canoe or bike / walk.
Marari beach: long, long sandy beach with very little people. A few hotels / accommodation invisible from the beach. 15km south is Alappuzha beach, here it can be packed with Indians, not the same undisturbed environment.

What we liked:

- The helpful staff

What could be better:
- More umbrellas by the pool to provide shade.
- Better bedside lamps (reading lights)
- Electricity socket on both beds for charging the mobile phone

This small but cozy hotel is very beautiful, and has lots to do. There are little paddle boats you can borrow so you can explore the backwaters that lead out to the beach.

There is also a pool, its not very large and most of the sun chairs are taken if u get there too late. But after a hot day in the sun it's very nice taking a dip in it.

The food is great, there are lots of choices. But it does take a while for the food to arrive. Depending on that you order it can take from 10 min to an hour. It's the same menu for both lunch and dinner. And the breakfast is buffet but with things you can order on the side like eggs your way, sausage, so on. Only thing with the food, is that it's very inconsistent, like the coffee, sometimes it's very strong, sometimes it's not, and this goes for most foods.

There is also a spa I haven't tried it or been in there so I don't know if it's good or not.

The rooms are very cozy. We booked 2 rooms, They were both different. One was a bit larger. Both of them has a double bed with white curtains, a ceiling fan and AC. The smaller room has an open ceiling shower and bathroom. The larger one had a little table with cups, glasses and a water boiler. All rooms are supplied with a bottle of water after every time it gets cleaned.

It has easy access to the beach, it takes about 5 min to paddle there in the backwaters, or about 15 if you walk. It's kinda close to the city/town called alappuzha, it's about 1 metric mile away from the hotel and if you take a tuktuk/taxi it takes about 30 min I've been told.

That's about it, I enjoyed the hotel, and its recommended you come here.

Fabulous food. A lovely canoe trip to the beach at sunset and sunrise. Very tranquil. Good sized pool. This was amazing value for money. The room was very comfortable. The hotel is surrounded by homestays and much more expensive hotels. But it really did have the feeling of an up market boutique establishment. Enjoy the sunsets at the beach and see the fishermen bringing in the catch of the day.

This is a lovely 11 room true boutique hotel built in and around the family villa of the two gracious brothers who run it. The hotel is a short walk from the beach. Food was excellent with a fine selection for a small place. The hotel is located on the main beach road and there is some traffic noise. This is apparently an issue only to very sensitive people like ourselves as it's hardly ever mentioned in other reviews. The owners are planning to install better windows soon. Service was attentive throughout and it's a pleasure to be in a hotel small enough where the whole staff knows you in your first hour there. There's a two year old addition with very large, well appointed rooms.

Stayed at this beautiful place during October 2019. And it won't be wrong to say that there's no other place like Flamingo in terms of hospitality, beauty, facilities and inclusions. Probably the best part about my stay were the inclusions of cycles, beach mats, umbrellas and a extremely beautiful ride to the beach on a canoe which you can take anytime you want. The rooms were super spacious and what sets Flamingo apart is its use of space with modern and innovative touches like that of Open to Air Washrooms.

Overall a stay beyond perfection. I'd love to visit again!

Flamingo Marari is absolutely an amazing boutique hotel that I visited last weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. This is where I realised that we do not need acres and acres of land and so many activities in a resort to enjoy our stay. Flamingo is a small property extremely well maintained and I felt like I should have stayed a little longer. Calmness and so much of positivity around.
Must visit place. Highly recommended!

We came to the restaurant fro lunch. Surprisingly the entire restaurant was empty at 1.30pm. That struck a doubt in our mind. Seeing the menu card it was very clear.

The prices are exorbitant. Its neither a 5-star category hotel nor it is located at some remote place. The entire menu is very overpriced. We had to leave the restaurant without eating. If you have a lot of money to waste go there else there are a lot of nice places in and around alleppy.

We had an amazing stay at flamingo hotel. The amenities rooms and food were all excellent. The staff were very friendly n hospitable. Enjoyed our stay thoroughly and will certainly return. Definitely recommend this place.
