Had a truly amazing experience staying at great escapes resort. It is located in one of the scenic area of the Gap road.
The staffs and service are really exceptional and they are at ur service anytime
The compound around the cottage/rooms are quite big enough to enjoy ur privacy i.e doesn't feel congested.

Food and room service are really good. Rooms and surroundings are well maintained.

One of the best places to stay if you want to experience the true vibe of Munnar sightseeing. The morning view from the Resort is splendid and can't be explained in words. The roads from the city centre to the resort also behold the best scenes of Munnar. At night you will feel like living inside a forest covered with mystic fog.

This location is in midst of the nature and scenes are really very beautiful. We had a great stay here so I definitely can say that this place is amazing and can recommend to go for it. They serve a very good breakfast and room services are also very good

Tree houses are a waste of money! Don't stay.
No AC. No Fan.
The resort is located in steep. Need to put a lot of Energy to reach in and walk out.
Locks don't work. You'll have to leave the room unlocked.
Food is tasteless and less quantity.
Don't order. Hotel Boys need to put in a lot of energy to get you food at the location of the rooms in deep steep.
The location of the resort is hard to find. But has some good view.
Overall ok to stay.

Buffet dinner is not so goood, breakfast is okay types but if you want to have a thriller night stay, choose this stay

We stayed in treehouse. The location is amazing. Very calm and beautiful place to get relaxed. However they need to improve their food service.

It was a very nice experience to stay. As this resort is on a hill, one can see the surrounding nature. The evening mist is mesmerizing. Only one thing to note here is that there are no hotels available for eating around.

It was perfect.amazing climate with magnificent view.staff and the people there was very generous and nice.strongly recommended.the tree house suite is the best!

Beautiful views can be seen from the every corner of the property.we will not get a resort with this much ambience at this rate.and yeah the customer service. I will give 5star for that.
As the name says its the great escape to nature.

Place need extensive renovation, the extreme cottage down stairs where we stayed is in horrific condition, whole room smelling, untidy, furniture in ugly state, no tap, hand shower not working. Location, food, reception is excellent for sure.

A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and unwind yourself. Get recharged before you head back. Nestled among the hills of Munnar in the Western Ghats in the State of Kerala, Great Escape Resorts is a home away from home amongst nature. The resort has been built without disturbing the natural trees in the property.

Good Resort. The rates were little high may be because of the season. Bathroom have hot water facility rooms were good. Also the re is a nice walking space outside the cottage. Breakfast was nice. The only issues is to reach the place. It's 14 km away from Munnar town. Also you need to travel down a steep road to reach here

I wanna give 5star coz of the place and maintenance and staff, I had been there with my parents we really liked the hospitality and nature.
As hotel name says great escape it is really great escape from the outside world, no network no phone calls and no disturbance but guys you will get BSNL and Jio works, but I have Airtel thatz good I didn’t get network there, I enjoyed the nature and food I just loved it. Jus go for it don’t keep second thought.

Mr.prabhu, the staff appriciaton.good serivice provided. Wifi network slow in down area.otherwise completely perfect climate mood.

Nice rooms and location is good. Their service is good. Food taste is good but still can be improved.

The property is good for young and energetic persons. We had been with our family. Too tiring to reach the room and climb up to the parking. Not a place if you are with aged persons. The restaurant is not capable to handle the rush and one would be left with very minimal options

Food to eat here - pathetic (As you have to eat here, since no near place to this for food)
Service - Staff has to learn to take feedbacks. End of the day these feedbacks makes a business to thrive.

Overall experience was not good. The Resort is off the town, so you better have a good driving skill or a good off roading vehicle, as the roads are still in construction from the highway to all the way to resort. We left the resort post one days stay as food was very bad and cost too high compared to the food quality.

Lastly staff needs to learn manners and they should learn how to speak to customer and take feedbacks when given.

Try avoid going here as the location is not reachable easily. They charge for food more than a 5star restaurant, and in return the quality is below average.

View is too good, especially in cottages.

But connecting road is not good drive carefully.

Good service and ambient rooms. If the weather is clear, you will get a good view of Bison Valley. Cool and quiet place suitable for couples as well as families. Since the approach road and Highway work is going on, it is better to reach the destination before sunset, if you are on a two wheeler, as the evenings may bring mist and reduce the vision.

Plus: Amazing stay. The people were very couteous. Made us feel so comfortable and at ease. The entire place is serene, neat and clean. You would love to go again.
Minus: Reaching the place is a little challenging but worth it. Also the wifi connectivity can be improved.

Really it was great escape to the heaven. What a lovely place it was. Had a lot of fun. Delicious food and super cool staffs are the highlight. Those days in great escape resort are the most memorable days in our life. Thank you great escape resort for giving such a wonderful treat in the place where the nature dance with dew drops?

Overall I give average it, but they can improve.
We booked tree house here, in which bath tub wasn't working properly, water flow is really slow, shower wasn't working proper.
They charges for food really high, and in return taste also not match with the expectations.

One of the most spectacular stays in Munnar. This resort is around 4 hours drive to reach from Cochin Airport.
You can feel the nature and beauty of area once you enter Munnar district parameters from where you need to travel further 13kms upwards to reach the resort.
Be rest assured, once you reach the resort.the hospitality and genuineness of staff will blow your mind. You are treated with a welcome drink to make comfortable from where you are scouted to your room as per your package.
I had booked a honeymoon cottage and a tree house each for one day and the experience was amazing. The cleanliness and hygiene is maintained upto the standards and the food available is delicious.
However, I'm reducing once star for the maintenance of property. This aspect needs to be looked thoroughly as in parts you may feel that this is an old property requiring high maintenance.
You can choose this stay for sure to disconnect from heavy routine city life to enjoy your time off from the pollution and noise around.

Its really a hidden gem @ munnar. The landscape and privacy was the highlight. Food was good. Dont expect too much options on breakfast, just the basic but the food served was good. Overall Its totally worth the money.

Trip to munnar after a decade. This time selected a location away from town as per friends advice and found what i missed in my past visits.

Only slight difficulty faced was a walk to restaurant from our cottage as our cottage was at a corner of the property. But we refused room service to enjoy that walk in the misty climate.

Had a very great experience in tree house of The great escape. It was a real escape from the outside world. The whole resort is well maintained and service was also awesome. There is lot of area to explore in the property. The climate was also great.

We reached there at afternoon on the month of march. We are disappointed because we cant find a fan or ac in our room.
Surprisingly at night it is too cold and we cant Survive without sweaters

1) distance from Munnar city is 13 km, but road is under construction. So it's dangerous to travel.

Great escapes is situated in bison valley gap road, nearly forty minutes drive from Munnar town. Pitched in the gap road valley, The Great Escapes is truly a getaway to nature's lap. The resort blends in to the landscape of the valley with even a natural stream flowing adjacent to the villas. The whole valley is covered by fog most of the time. Their executive villas and honeymoon villas are having balconies. Its quite a nice experience to sit in the balcony soaking in the mist that blankets the whole valley. They even have a tree house and a tent. Go for the executive villas or tree house to truly enjoy the resort experience. The deluxe rooms with no balconies are ok for batchelor groups.

Very good location, facilities, great hospitality and very courteous staff. Availability of some basic medicines will be of help to guests. The indoor games facility needs improvement and the condition of available games to be taken care.

It's a total off beat location very beautiful! They have issues related to payment options, they do not provide you with the option of card payments and claim that as not working due to network problems which is untrue! If mobile network can work then cards payments should also work! Ensure you carry enough cash with you. So that you are ready for the last minute surprises.

Great resort.but d way to reach there is too difficult.bcoz f road construction work is going on.other than the resort is super and calm location.u can hear d hymn of whistling bird that hymm is nice to hear.

If you love to live in a place surrounded with jungle then this is the place. Location is quite far from the city. Food is ok not that great. Rooms are decent with TV and basic amenities available. Kettle is not there. View is awesome from everywhere inside the resort. Campfire option is available on request. Great for photo shoots.

Great place, cordial staff. But you can't ask for more. Tip carry warm clothes and raincoat n umbrella.

The resort was built at scenic mountain side. It's filled with greenery. They won't provide you AC but the temperature is always cool here.

They didn't accept card as it was a hilly region and network was not reliable

Great place. Breathtaking views. Food is average. It's quite far from the main city. When I visited the resort, the road construction work was going on. The road would close in morning and open again only after 7 PM. And according to the locals, that would take around 2 years to complete. Better check/ enquire about roads before booking. Hotel staff would tell you that road is 24 hours open. But that is alternative road. The alternate road is quite dangerous. If you want / love adventure, then you can take that road. But it's very tricky road in monsoon season.

T was awesome experience specially their service and the way they treat. They were always ready to serve if any requirement. If any one wants to make experience of Houseboat these people will be your right choice. Specially driver, cook and in charge of the resort. Food was authentic, both lunch and dinner. They even have arranged for candle light dinner, which was superb. Spending night in houseboat was not that cozy but people who wants to take an experience then they must go for this.

A very lovely experience although would recommend to keep a taxi number as to call them before going anywhere because you're not gonna find any there.

An awesome place to spend a holiday with your family or friends. Well maintained property. Cordial staff requires special mention. Restaurant is situated close to Lake and sea from where you can enjoy sunset with a cup of coffee. Food is tasty as well. Kids will love this place, plenty of play area, two kids pool, games and much more. A short boating trip around the island was just amazing. Looking forward to have further visits.

The name perfectly matches the location, this resort is outside munnar and is a little difficult to reach. The location however is top notch. No or minimal mobile signal at this place. Best to get here when it is still sunny

I traveled on 13/02/2018. Around 15 km from Munnar town, but the road work was in progress. Road was closed from 8 am to 6 pm. It may take more than one year to finish the road work. Alternative road via Bison Valley was difficult to drive, around 30 Km distance, 1 and a half hours drive. Beautiful place to stay. Night temperature was 12 degree. Good atmosphere, good view, good food, good staff.

We group of seven people visited Munnar in Feb2016 & chosen this resort for our stay and its the best evar choice we made! This place has a plenty of floral plants and the plan of the resort is mesmerising it was an amazing experience spending a holiday here In the midst of forest under the roof with no fans. You don’t need an AC at all!

The place is very good. Rooms are clean. The food could have been better. A very good experience. Ayurvedic massages are also offered.
