Great place, awesome and very helpful people. I went on a solo travel and on off season and the staff and other members and even guests never made me feel alone. Nice common room and play area and a sweet doggu named Maria. She is such a sweetheart. I had a great time there.

A bustling hostel with good ambience and good people with well maintained dorms for cheap.

Took a bed in the non ac shared dorm. The room was clean and well maintained. The hosts were very friendly and great to chat with. Hostel itself is centrally located, with many points of interest within walking distance.

I personally n our group we felt like a home n staffs were like homies.and that day we reached hostel in mid night @12 we asked them to arrange dinner they din't said no or will see like that they just arranged us that in that night.thank you for that.we planned for a day but mngr NIKHIL suggested us to extend.and we extend for another day.n that whole day we stayed in hostel and we all just enjoyed the vibe.that hostel vibes are extremely good.and places are walkable.n once again I thank Mr. NIKHIL for giving homely vibes n being v.friendly companion n proving us staffs can also be friendly with guests.over all I thank my friend for suggesting KOCHI n mngr NIKHIL for giving that homely n friendly vibe.

Santa Maria. The best hostel I'll say. All the popular places are at walkable distance. Rooms are clean and the best thing is their locker is quite big compares to other hostels. They even serve the hot breakfast everyday. Manager is so friendly. The common area's vibe is so good. They have so many games to play. I actually dropped my mob in water and the manager and his friends helped me so much even took me to the local shop and bargained it for me. The best hostel I'll say.

Very friendly people, they made sure my stay was safe and comfortable. It's also close to the boat jetty and the bus stand, so it's very accessible and easy to go to other places from here. Also, the beach is just a 5 minute walk from the hostel. Highly recommended if you are visiting Kochi for the Biennale.

I have stayed here twice. Once in 2023 and once in 2018. Little has changed.
It has the best location if you are going there for the Biennale. Even if not. It's great. It's cheap. There is a cafe type situation which may be helpful.

That sort of ends the positives.
Negative:
They only take payment in cash. The cleanliness could definitely use help. There is no hot water.

They ask you to remove footwear outside but then the floor all over the building is dusty (I am not sure that can be helped, but the footwear thing is not thought through) and thus unpleasant to walk around. The bathrooms should also be a lot cleaner.

AC nice and staff lovely, but a bit run down, bathroom not cleaned often, lock on door was broken, and dark rooms

The people were so friendly and we had lots of fun!
The accomodation is very nice and comfortable and the location is great.
They serve good breakfast and the rooftop is really cool to hhave some parties there ;)

Had a lovely experience at Santa Maria. The host and the staff are friendly and will go out of their way to make their guests feel comfortable. Highly recommend.

One of the best hostels in Fort Kochi. Stayed here for a week and absolutely loved the hostel. Clean rooms, comfy beds, relaxed roof space for spending some good time in the evenings. The best thing about the hostel was they treat all their guests like long lost friends. They ensured that I had a comfortable stay while I was there. Team Santa Maria - you are doing a Good Job! It's a place where really nice and also we get affordable price for staying. For solo traveler and group traveler. Really a good place.
People who are there really friendly to everyone.
Nice rooftop. Nice parking place. Nice dine area. Good view of morning, near bustop and also 24/7 available of food and also good transportation.

Probably, everything that you can think of if you are the Traveller type. I got to meet some really great people, Easy-Go vibe types. Needless to say excellent customer service and value for money. Rooms were reasonably decently good (can't expect 5-star facilities, apparently). Well connected to the major spots around Fort Cochin, affordable and friendly atmosphere. Would like to visit again, sometime soon.

One of the best hostel to spend time. All the staff are nice and well behaved personality. Location is equally important and this fits amazing in that criteria as well. The beach is at walkable distance of around 1 km and ferry station is just 100-200 m away.

Place is full of fun if you are coming with your friends. Visit this hostel to get some of the good memories and vibes.

The only good thing about staying here were the kind and helpful staff. The hostel is very run down; there is damp in the rooms and it is very dirty. There is a serious mosquito problem and there were cockroaches in room and bathroom!

We were expecting the hostel to be amazing from the other reviews but they must have been in a different place to us! We ended our stay early because we were uncomfortable and badly bitten.

It was my first ever solo trip and i checked out for places to stay before booking tickets to kochi and i came across Santa Maria hostel online and gave a chill vibe to stay and it was very affordable.fast forward, it was way more amazing than i expected.it was really a cool place to stay and the people who manage the place was very hospitable and i had one of my best time ever there at the hostel.they've opened a cafe and i had the opportunity to have some amazing food there.if anyone is looking for an affordable and cool place to stay and socialize with new people, this is definitely the place for you.thank you Jenny, Krishna and santhosh for being very hospitable.you guys are amazing️

Really nice hostel in a great area. Staff here were so warm, welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help us. We reached out to this hostel when another hotel let us down in the middle of the night - staff were really helpful and welcomed us with open arms. Good common area to chill in, both dorms and private rooms available. Good location for exploring Kochi, lots of shops and coffee shops around which was great. Can’t recommend enough!:)

Budget hostel. Value for money paid. One star less for unhygienic washrooms, dust on bed and pet dogs barking.

Day to day. Dogs bark. No peace as they are keeping dogs inside
And hygiene is not even close.

We stayed for two nights at Santa Maria hostel. The location is really good, right in the centre of fort kotchi. The staff was not particularly friendly but not unfriendly though. However, the cleanliness of the rooms and, in particular, the common areas has room for improvement to say the least. We found the place surprisingly dirty.

Super thrilled with the professional and polite service at this hostel! They helped mediate during a dispute with a local taxi driver and handled the situation with grace and courtesy. This is better service than I would expect in America, I was very pleased with their performance. I'll be coming back in the future and I hope you come check it out!

This was my second visit to Santa Maria after a year. Loads of things are changed for good.

Rooms are clean.
The common area is filled with healthy discussion.
Breakfast is the most authentic.
Santosh, Andrew and Nikhil are always helping. I'll definitely come back.

Best place for budget stay, comfortable and u get to travel through the ferry along with your car/bike to reach this place. And that was pretty amazing

Very good hostel. Location is very nice. Just near to tourist attractions. Staffs here are very nice and they make you feel like home. Free tea and coffee available at Common kitchen but the cutleries are not clean.

It's a very cute hostel, great price. We took a private room and it was basic but served all our needs. Shower pressure is good which often isn't the case at budget places. Nice that breakfast is included. Most of all the staff is great, even when we had to visit a hospital nearby at night Santosh walked us there so we didn't get lost. Plus they are just very welcoming and helpful with good suggestions etc. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a no frills stay option in Fort Kochi. Oh and great location!

Good hostel. The most important factor of this hostel is that it offers free kitchen. You can cook your food here.
The staffs are nice and well behaved.

It is a good place. Those who wants familarity can plan to stay here. Breakfast facility is available here. Many visitable places are available here.

Hostel is in the heart of fort Cochin. Nice and hygienic hostel.service by Santosh & Santosh was great. Everything is nearby no need to spend money on taxies. That is the biggest advantage. Must stay hostel in Cochin if u are a bagpacker.

A nice cozy place for backpackers. They have a beautifully lighted attic, for entertainment and socializing.

Spent a week here relaxing and recovering, lots of room to chill. Santosh and Santosh made me very welcome and feel at home!

Nice location, very near to the Aspinwall wall.
Chilled place.
Home cooked breakfast was very nice, that too on the house.

The only negative aspect was that the AC was not working well, in summer that was a big drawback.
