Hotel Noorjehan

Used to be one of the best restaurants in Palakkad town. Known for its biriyani and other non vegetarian delicacies. After COVID everything went downhill, the competition became fierce, and it seems the management doesn't care anymore. Still serves one of the best biriyani in town - a spark of the old Noorjehan magic. It is located in a very busy junction and parking can be a problem. A pay and park is nearby, and the hotel reimburses the parking fee if you use it. Large crowd is to be expected on weekends and other holidays, for lunch and dinner. The staff are okay, though many old timers left. Rates are not very high and QR code payments are accepted. Noorjahan has two more branches in the town itself. Food can be ordered online through Zomato.

This was a good restaurant before many years. But now quality is very bad. Had porotta, chicken roast, chicken biriyani, chappathi and paneer butter masala.
Taste was not good. Chicken biriyani was average. Once this place was famous for its chicken biriyani. Porotta was not at all soft. It was like eating rubber. Service and ambience is also pretty bad. Not recommended.

They serve stale food. Yesterday I ordered chicken curry and chapati from here. Stomach pain is unbearable till this time.

Very worst biriyani ever I tried, Don't worth the money. They have just provided one small piece of chicken for 120 rupees biriyani. Taste wise I would not call it as a biriyani. Better you guys take out biriyani from the menu.

The ambiance is not like that of modern cafe but it have good seating and service is good. The food is good and the mist try is biriyani

Enjoyed a lovely fish curry thali. Do try the chilly chicken kebab and fish fry.

Another dish to try Parotta and fish curry.

Delivered stale food. They always had closure by food inspection dept.for the first time and last time ordered food. Had to sleep empty stomach at night.

One of the best restaurant in palakkad earlier. Now not looking so good. Food is ok. The preparation of the Mutton rost was not good. It looks they put mutton pieces in egg roast. Any "rost" in Kerala means the item in a onion gravy.onion also not cooked properly. Malabar porota was ok.

This Hotel is famous for especially Biriyani. Those who love Biriyani more, they should try at least one time. Biriyani available in bucket full & half also. If a group of people come here to eat, they can try bucket Biriyani. Very big parking space available behind the hotel. We tried breakfast & its not up to the mark.

Worst dum biriyani I have ever been.

When I travel from coimbatore to ottappalam.we usually have lunch and go. Wonderful experience always, their bucket biriyani, also fry and arabian cuisines are good. Nothing more to describe.

Price is very high in this restaurant.

Kuzhi mandi rice is very good here.

Budget people cannot try here.

Only people have more money can come here.

One of the oldest restaurants of Palakkad and their Malabar biryani used to be the gold standard back in the day. I’ve some fond memories of the place when we used to dine here during weekends back in the ‘90s when I was a kid. There used to be only one outlet back then, now they’ve expanded and have a few more restaurants in the town.

Noorjehan was known for its Malabar chicken biryani just like Sapphire in Thrissur or Sagar in Calicut. Competition caught up and other outlets have bettered them today. The other downside is they don’t serve an egg in the biryani - other outlets do and this can be a turn-off for some of them.

We’ve been ordering online ever since covid struck so photos don’t really do justice. But the biryani still tastes good. Come on guys, serve an egg too! How hard it can be?

Now a days only take away.we had beef roast, porotta, mutton biryani.very tasty.very good packing. Highly recommended.

Had to wait for 30 minutes or more to get a parcel. I was made to wait unnecessarily even after the parcel was ready since none of the staff at the counter bothered to check.very poor service.

It's a matter of reporting a very negative feedback for your service since we ordered 90 porotas from there in online and usually we do get gravy from any other restaurants but you guys didn't gave it and also the response for the regarding enquiry was rude from your end as well. Very much disappointed with your behaviour more than service.

It's a small restaurant in Palakkad. I was there for a few hours managed to have a bite. I had parotta and beef masala, the food was really yummy. Biryani was good too, Kerala style. Would love to go there next time.

The best hotel in palakkad. Those who want to have biriyani can park their vehicles here. We can have various type of biriyani. This hotel is famous for non vegetarian food. We can always watch a crowd here.

We were travelling from Bangalore and was at this restaurant (Sultanpet area, Palakkad) by about 2.00 pm. Feeling very hungry. One veg and one half veg and the last full blown NV. We ordered 3 simple items - veg fried rice, Chicken Biriyani and prawns masala. Must say every item was very tasty. We were more than satisfied. Of course pure veg fellas would find it a bit unstomachable because of the aroma from all the taste bud tickling curries! Would rate a 4 star for food and 2.5 for ambience!

I ate biriyani from this restaurant it was quite good. I prefer this restaurant.

Famous for chicken biriyani, tasty chicken biriyani is the highlight of the hotel, have variety dishes like porotta and beef. Daily spls too a part, seafood are spls maximum. Can enjoy. Always rush. Previously it was displayed that no ajinomotto is used. Now display not seen. Quality litle bit gone down. Have to keep up the name and image. Good one

The renowned NoorJahan chicken biriyani was just awesome. Nice place to eat, nice staff. Chicken 65 was horrible and overpriced.

Hotel Noorjehan is In Palakkad, a famous Hotel. You can find out this place in normal traffic. Good quality + Quantity meals in reasonable price is available.

An average place for breakfast and lunch in Palakkad. It is not for vegetarians as they do not find their usual items. Their service is highly appreciated.

A biriyani after long from Noorjehan has really disappointed me. I would say that it has lost the taste that it had earlier. May be I expected so much. Anyways I feel a bit sad.

It was one of the famous restraunts in palakkad.i went ther on 2017.but sadly their quality was a let down for me.i ordered biriyani.the chicken was too dry ther.and the biriyani was not at all hot also.hop that they woud rectify their mistakes wen i go ther th nect tym

One of the best places to get chicken biriyani in palakkad. Old restaurant which serves good food, the only downside being the lack of parking space.

Good and experienced hotel in Palakkad where we can get very good biriyani and ghee rice as well as the verity of dishes like chicken mutton beef etc. With veriety of food item. Well managing employees and very good behavior, and the special is very neat and clean.

Not a good choice previously in the old times their biriyani was a masterpiece now it became a disaster! Had a biriyani and some other dishes from open grill last week it has become worse! A very good hotel on GB road PALAKKAD. Around 300 m from PALAKKAD town Rly station, Municipal Bus stand and 500m from town Bus stand. Delicious veg and non veg dishes available here at reasonable rates. First floor of the hotel is air conditioned to relieve from hot climates of PALAKKAD.

The food was good.but the ceiling fell of and there was water all over the place.could be a one time occurrence.but not likely to go there again

The godfather of Palakkadan restaurants is a bit older these days in terms of spicy food. Hope things go back as they were once!

Once a great place but have lost its charm and taste along with its low service. Still their ghee rice and beef fry do win 3 star:)

This hotel became famous through their glorious chicken biriyani. Still they are maintaining that tasty. Earlier the customer service was utra poor. Now the service of serving staffs are improved, but the customer service of staffs who is taking order are very poor. No parking area, can park a maximum of four bikes.

I had buffet dinner. Wanted to post the pictures. Most of the items in the menu were not there. It's not worth to go for a buffet dinner.

Good things: Reasonably tasty food. Eat as much as you can, Have family space, AC & Non AC.

Bad things: No parking space, very arrogant staff, expensive as compared to similar restaurants, Poor hygiene, avoid going during closing hours, No easy access to old noor jahan. New noorjahan near Fort / ground is totally waste. Don't even bother to go.

Noorjahan is tasty and yummy foods available like arabian, Seafood. I prefer from palakkad only noorjahan.that's secure to eat.but expensive.

Food is tasty, but don't expect too much variety. If you are looking for a variety of foods go for their nearby outlet Noor Jahan open grill. Parking facility is poor. It's too crowded at lunchtime. Customer service needs to improve a lot. I always go here for dinner with my family, I feel like it's too congested. The washroom is tiny.

Please don't buy egg biryani here and expect only egg to be in it. They use the common masala for both chicken and egg biryani. So you will find pieces of chicken in your rice! When I asked for an explanation they told me it was such a surprising thing that someone who would eat egg won't eat chicken!

Their chicken rice was pretty good, like I enjoyed it. My friend who was vegetarian did not enjoy the gobi Manchurian, which was sweet it seems.

At 8: 30 pm onwards there isn't too much of rush, you should be able to find seats. The ambience is nothing special.
