Hotel Sahyadri Family Restaurant

Best place to get food from the entire Idukki, the people, the food and the place makes it so special that anyone would love it.

An egg exploded and splashed with the sauce in our face and eyes, since it was pre-boiled and microwaved before serving. It looks like most of the food here is microwaved and the egg probably had steam trapped inside.
Other than the egg incident, the food is mediocre. We had fish fry, chicken biryani and the egg curry, all were just ok.

Had breakfast today morning on the way to Kattappana. This is a medium sized restaurant by the side of Idukki- Kattappana road, near to Idukki. I had Poori as breakfast. There is no Masala Curry served with this dish, as is the practice in Kerala. We have to purchase curry separately and pay for it. Quality of food is not bad. Service is average only. Atmosphere is good.

Good food and Ambience but less hospitality

We accidentally stepped in here due to a sudden downpour during our Idukki Cycling ride.
We had to occupy the empty shelter inorder to save our luggage and chains from getting drenched and losing out on the lube.
We also ordered some ice-creams and took a seat in the adjacent hut.

The downpour continued for more than 2 hours and we did knew that the parking space was occupied by our bikes however the approach of the owner and staff seemed to be a bit hostile.

Looking at their faces we thought it would be better to leave ASAP and left after sipping some hot coffee as well even though it was still drizzling

I ordered vegetarian meals and the side dishes were of below average quality and taste. I tried sambar and avial.

The service guy at this hotel is a little less cooperative with those who don't have anything special with their meal.

Every effort should be made to treat all guests equally while serving
