Hotel Samudra (KTDC)

Just non sense. They don't even have a ramp or wheelchair access.

They got the best location in their hand but bad management and non compliance with rules makes this a bad place.

Attended a wedding reception on 3rd Jan 24. The place and ambience was good. Heard that the view of the sea and beach is excellent. The biggest drawback that I found was lack of direction to this location when coming on the highway. The property should put up sign boards to assist people visiting this excellent location. Also since they promote open garden sea view marriage /reception location, since such an event will definitely include food the property should install a proper hand wash area instead of temporary portable washbasin which reflects bad on the facility of the property.

One of the best properties near the beach. It is well maintained by KTDC. The view from the property is awesome. The sunset view is especially amazing. The restaurant is nice and the staff are very humble and soft spoken.

I am trying to book a room for my visit in December. May i know how can i book? The online portal does not seem to be working

Today morning I went to have breakfast, but the condition of the restaurant is very pathetic especially the service of the staff was un professional, the f and b manager was not in charge, at that time. It was a very bad experience.

We had a great family time at the place. The staff were very polite and welcoming. The hospitality of the hotel, along with it's sea facing gorgeous balcony, gave a relaxed evening time. The food was really good, and so we're the rooms. The warm lit shady pool was a master attraction. We would love to visit the hotel again.

Excellent location, serene and peaceful surroundings, courteous staff, spacious neat rooms, good food.all made our stay memorable. Beautiful landscaping by the seaside with a perfect sunset view gave us a surreal experience. The property has got a well maintained swimming pool.would definitely recommend the hotel for family visit. Renovation works are underway at the hotel. We are definitely planning to visit again soon and hoping that we will be able to enjoy more with the new get up.

Our family went for lunch at Samudra KTC. They had outdoor seating with an amazing view and sea breeze. The chief chef (Simijit) was simply amazing. He brought out an array of pure delight. Tiger prawns wrapped in banana leaf, king fish fry, chicken curry, traditional kodum pulli fish and malabar parota. Every fish was above par and outstanding. I totally recommend wanting to taste some authentic Kerala seafood to visit Samudra.

Room and Location is excellent. Furniture is old, need replacement. Restaurant menu is limited and expensive. Only it is beer and wine parlour and the beer was out of stock. Hospitality was excellent.

Very poor hospitality. If govt is promoting tourism they need some amendments in their in-house policies. It is 21st century. But they are still @ some BC period

A good resort with beautiful sea view. There are a lot of places where the children can enjoy. The restaurant is good and the foods are tasty. The staffs are very cooperative. The pool is currently closed due to covid 19.

Great place to stay. The best part is private beach is available. Well behaved staff and customized everything according to your need. Very clean and friendly environment. Complimentary breakfast was also very good. Variety of dishes are available. They prepare some signatures dishes must try.

Samudra is a good place to stay but the quality of food served is really poor, and it's now time for an renovation as the ambience and property seems to be old now.

Went to KTDC Samudra for Onam Sadhya. Was expecting a taste and decent Sadhya on Onam from KTDC. The food didn’t taste nice at all. There was no salt in Olan Curry.
Only mango Pickle, pineapple pachadi, puliseery and payasam was nice. When you charge 750+ tax for a Sadhya we expect it to be at least a decent one.

Wort service, unprofessional staff is the failure of this hotel. Nice sea view. Staff and attitude very poor. Food way too expensive for quality served. Old bathrooms and toilet poorly maintained.

It was an awesome experience here.its an ideal place to enjoy the beauty of Kovalam. The resort is so peaceful and calm. And the food was so delicious especially thalaserry briyani also paneer masala. A special applause to the chef for delivering such a delicious dishes.

Amazing location with Excellent Seaview.
We stayed in Deluxe room 301, the room has both pool view and Seaview.when you stepped out of your room, there was small sitting area and next step you were in lawn.one side swimming pool and other side lawnfollowedbybeach.
Awesome. When you step out of the room you feel that you are in a different world. You can listen the sounds of waves from your balcony itself.
Beach is in the backyard of the Resort.the beach is almost like a private beach.

Staff were very helpful and friendly.check in and check out were smooth but no welcome drink.
Rooms are clean but the interiors, specially the Furniture looks very old and needs urgent renovation. No continuous hot water in the bathroom.
Food was very average, not upto the mark.if they improve it, KTDC Samudra will be the best in Kovalam.

One of the best place to have a stay or have a function. It's just located above a beach. The is an open lawn which facilitate to have function. We can feel the breeze from the ocean and hear the sound of waves overall the ambiance is spectacular. There is an reasturent near the lawn were we can hav e food. If it's an function the provide us round tables setup in the lawn. If you want to enjoy an holiday then it's a best place to visit.

We were 6 adults, 2 kids and booked 3 rooms. It's a huge property with a nice entrance. Reception is 300 meters from entrance. They were following all the COVID 19 guidelines and proper sanitisation process were followed. This place is just adjacent to Samudra Beach and you heard sea waves inside your rooms. Hotel has lush green campus with palm trees all around and neat & clean rooms. I am little bit disappointed by food quality. We ordered room service and food was not at all hot and chapati was not fully cooked. Breakfast spread also had limited options. Swimming pool was closed due to Covid. Best part was they extended our checkout time upon request. 4 star for property and staff behaviour.

Resort With Superb Location but with very low hospitality especially the restaurant staffs. A man with casual dress in restaurant, he was looking towards the guests very rudely. I think he is the duty manager. If it was a private property it will show the guests what is hospitality. Food is very below average in buffet spread. But price is too high for this spread. Cleanliness is Good. Reception staffs are also very polite in nature. No kids play area. Overall i am not satisfied.

Its really very much attractive with the sea on one side and greenery too. The surroundings are heigenic as well as beautiful with rocks and sandy grounds

Great ambience and sea facing rooms. The beach is literally 3 minutes walk from the property and they have their own gate to reach the beach. Amazing views, well kempt lawn, a nice open restaurant and bar. Breakfast buffet had a lot of variety, combining Kerala breakfast along with chapati, toast, cereals and even pancakes. Chicken biryani for dinner didn't disappoint either. The beach that is accessible from the property don't have any life guards, so they make a ruckus from the other beach if you go swimming here. Speed boat and scuba operators hang around the beach facing gate in hopes of getting business from you, so enthusiasts can spare searching for them.

The right place to enjoy your vacation or a couple of days of staycation. Its absolutely blissful to watch the sunset, walk on the sandy beach and enjoy the waves. I had a very nice experience here. There are other indoor facilities too.
A decent restaurant, though the service is a little slow, the food was quite enjoyable and they have room service as well. The staffs were well behaved but i found most of them quite inactive, as if they lacked energy and enthusiasm. That is quite a negative mark if you are working especially in hospitality sector.

Excellent location. Provides a breathtaking view of beach. Relaxing and Serene atmosphere Clean and well maintained premises. Loved the swimming pool. Great place for family vacation and get together.

The location is spectacular. But the service wasn't that great. We had to wait for more than 20 minutes for just 2-3 bottles of beer and a glass of still water.

Oh! The beach side view, the good food, music, and the friendly stewards. It's the BEST of all.
