Ideal Ayurvedic Resort

We had a really pleasant stay at Ideal. It is the best value for money option compared to the rest of the options around. The staff is friendly, specifically Vineeth was always very willing to accommodate us. The breakfast is delicious with many options to choose from. I also tried the massage and face treatment with Usha which was very relaxing! My only suggestion would be an upgrade to the rooms. The beach which is 10 minutes walking is the best we have seen so far in India! I would definitely come back!

It is a good place with, a beautiful garden and swimming pool area, however, the rooms have super strong dampness and mould smell.

An absolutely wonderful hotel. Surprisingly clean, nice staff, wonderful treatments, good and diverse food and a lottery ticket in terms of price. Certainly moneys worth.
Staff is politie, casino and helpfull. They go out of their way to let you feel at home. Have not had this experience thusfar in India, let alone in a fairly cheap place.
My advice: go for the all inclusief ayurvedic treatment for a couple of day's or weeks!

Wonderful place to recover some calm and rediscover how good you can feel with some tlc. Had a totally great experience at this, as someone else said, low key resort. The setting is very relaxed and the rooms simple but comfortable. Food is of a good quality. Treatments are excellent. Every member of the team great you with a friendly smile and are so helpful. The Doctor available on site listens to any concerns you have and acts on them, giving her advice and communicating with the treatment team. The massages are amazing and done in a tranquil setting. Special mention goes to Threcy (Tracy) who was my regular masseuse - the warmth, kindness she emanated and put into her massages was second to none.
The kitchen team- again always willing to go the extra mile, always smiling and helpful - they surprised my husband on his 70th with a birthday cake on a beautifully decorated table and a rendition of Happy Birthday.
There are too many people who make this place special to mention them all by name but rest assured - you get the best if you stay here. Thank you to you all - we will not forget you …

A good place only if you want to have some Ayurveda therapy also, don't expect any spcl comforts otherwise.

Beautiful rooms, very cozy restaurant with an incredibly dedicated operator and delicious dishes. The hotel is small, the service is very personal, the pool is very well maintained, the Ayurvedic treatments are very good and professional. I was here once 10 years ago and the hotel has continued to develop. We recommend. The place is less suitable for someone who wants to have a beach holiday, but the sea is nearby. A nice quiet place with nice shops. Here you can concentrate on your Ayurveda treatment in a relaxed manner.

Resort is good for budget friendly customer. I was booked only for single night. One swimming pool which is well maintained. Staff is helpful & friendly. If anyone wants to be far from crowd can go here. Beautiful trees planted around resort.
Temples, church & beaches are near by.

Been here for a week already. From the first time I got here the services have been excellent. The staff attend to my needs in a timely manner. The staff in the kitchen is out of this world with the great taste in the food. The greets in the restaurant are warming. The customer service in the office is extremely informative of the treatment schedule for the guest. The doctors here are knowledgeable of the treatment that the guest needs to get. The doctors check up on the guests everyday. If there is an issue it's resolved asap. I love the therapist because they are well skilled in their job. They explain everything before they begin the treatment on the customer. The rooms are very clean and have a/c. The cleaning staff are so polite and the rooms are always clean everyday. The rooms are always with fresh towels, soap, shampoo. I have no complaints about this resort. I will be coming again next year to this resort. I highly recommend everyone to try this resort.the resort has taxi service and the driver always on time and very patient with the customer.

Very nice resort that offers a variety of ayurvedic body massages. Rooms are small but bathrooms are quite spacious. The restaurant is also very nicely built.
The swimming pool at the center is big enough for 8-10 people and beautifully surrounded by trees and plants giving off an oasis vibe. You can take great photos around the pool and at the restaurant.
Closest beaches are somatheeram, azhimala and vizhinjam folllowed by kovalam beach which is over 7kms from the resort. Staff seemed friendly and cooperative for making our stay comfortable.

Very nice place to stay! Quiet and calm, really good ajurvedic massages. But few last days there were a lot of smoke from burning the trash.: (

Was looking forward to staying here for our last 2 nights of a 3.5 week trip across South India. Was sadly very dissapointed. Booked two pool view rooms with balconies and AC in August 2022 for January 2023.

Turned up today after a long journey to find one room with AC and the other no AC, filthy bathroom and situated in a separate one story block on its own directly off the main path. The toilet seat was hanging off, mould all over the door, poo on the wall.
The hotel were refunded us but the cost of getting there (time and money) and finding another hotel cannot be recouped.

We stayed in 9 other hotels in India during this trip and this was our only negative experience. Will not be returning and will advise others not to too

Extremely dirty room with creepy crawlies. Unkempt environment. Horrible food with barely any options. Extremely disappointed with the hospitality.

Total ripoff. Room number 104 is nasty, doesn't have a tv, bathroom door doesn't lock and the towels smell like eggs. Charged us 2000Rs for a smelly dilapidated room. Worst experience ever! Boo

This place provides clean room and a well maintained outdoor pool. The breakfast was very good in their restuarant. Overall it provides a budget friendly stay in kovalam.

It's a good place for ayurvedic treatment along with stay with good food at reasonable rate.but we cannot view any scenery from there of the ocean.but the road to the beach is full of shops and boutiques with international standards coming up from beach is like real trekking and beware of hightides

One of the best Ayurvedic resorts in Chowara. Their staff is very professional, friendly and helpful, is neat and clean and the food is tasty.
Highly recommended!

Worst Experience! Never ever book this Ayurvedic Resort. It's a loss of your money.
The staff over here is not cooperative they don't know how to talk to customers.

They provided us pillows which are wet and they Also Dont have Blankets.
They lights in the room stopped working.
And it's just been one hour and a loads of complaints.
No Geysers in Any room. They have some idiotic boiler System.
Staff is unprofessional. It just looks like good from outside but from inside it's worst than a 3rd graded lodge.
