One of the best resorts I've ever visited; we stayed in a Tree House with a great view, and it felt like we were living in a deep jungle.

A perfect place to spend your time in Munnar. Excellent service, they help with anything you need. Very pleasant place and nice people. The rooms are very clean and big.

Absolutely lovely place - ambience, food - jain options, staff is very helpful. This is run and managed by Gujarati couple who too are very humble and helpful. The rooms are very spacious, and the environment is quite, best place for getaway, away from hustle - bustle.

I stayed for 7 nights and took an ayurveda&yoga package, though easily I could of stayed for longer. The resort is located in a breahtakingly beautiful location. It is so calm and peacefull there. Services and staff performance were outstanding. Rooms are spacious and clean. Yoga classes were great and the teacher was super professional and had a lot of knowledge. Ayurveda treatments were also good and the girls providing them were super sweet. The food that the restaurant served was 5/5 every time. I strongly recomment this place for anyone wishing to relax, get close to nature and improve their health.

I had the pleasure of staying at the retreat from July 17th until the 27th, and it was a memorable ten days of bliss. The expert care and attention to detail provided by the staff made my stay even more enjoyable.

I must express my gratitude to Anil & Bijith the Ayurveda therapists, who did an exceptional job in guiding me through the treatments. Special words of appreciation to Anil. We stayed there for 2 nights and the rooms were pretty excellent near and well maintained. Amazing location to stay. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants to relax.

From the main road they will take you down to the resort in their own vehicle which is less than a km and too steep and may not be easy for new drivers. They support us on this very much.

A beautiful place with a serene atmosphere. I was warmly welcomed and the owners and staff displayed enormous generosity and kindness. I am forever grateful for the hospitality I received there, and especially for everything I learned from the yoga master Prashant. Thank you!

Healthy vacation with your family - This is the spot. Close to nature, polite and humble staff. You have lot of activities to engage like yoga, meditation, hiking, bird watching. Rooms and ambience are too good. Their wooden rooms are very close to nature and welcomes you with mesmerising views and chirping sounds.
Note: only veg food is available and you cant have booze here. So not a place to chill with your friends.

I highly reccomend this place in the middle of a jungle. The food is delicious, rooms are bug, clean with a magic view. I am on ayurvedic treatment and i can say it is something you should experience here. Massages with Mala and Šemaja, yoga classes with harriah and Prashan, meditation with Harrish, a doctor, everything is better than you expect. There is nothing that I personally see that it could be improved. Maybe they could add some relaxing swinging chairs from the trees on the property:)

This place is blissful! It’s surrounded in nature, early morning you’ll hear the singing of the birds and enjoy the fresh air. There are many activities they offer from yoga, meditation, bird watching, bon fire, free head massage etc. The rooms are spacious, i got the suite room and it was awesome. This room has a bathtub with a jacuzzi. I loved the breakfast, the fruits are so fresh and they also serve puttu, appam and dosa. Believe me the food is just so yum. You definitely feel the home cooked feeling. Most of the guest aren’t noisy, so glad. Made the place very peaceful. The staff are very nice, everyone has a smile on their faces. The person who takes the food order I think his name is Ashish, he always sing.either he enjoyes his job so much or he just loves singing.either way I found the staff very authentic and pleasant. Harish, Anju and Mahesh are very courteous. Harish is very passionate when doing the meditation session, I didn’t feel like I’m going to a “meditation” session. He explained meditation and encouraged us a lot. Winnie who does the massages did an awesome job giving me a head massage and Shirodhara treatment, I fell a sleep. I see so many comments on people staying the road is challenging, yes that’s true but there is always a hotel jeep to take you up to the main road and back. Max you’ll wait 5-10mins if the jeep has taken other passengers but honestly it’s not an issue. Rajendran who takes us in the jeep is so accommodating. Overall I loved this place. I sincerely hope they continue to keep this place like a precious nature and wellness serene!

I stayed seven nights at Kaivalyam and it was a wonderful experience! I did the aryuveda package, the treatments were excellent and the best massages I ever had. The ladies are super caring and will make sure you have a great experience. The food was also excellent, I only had sattvic food but it was so tasty and varied. All the guests I met said food was excellent too. The facilities are nice and clean and you have birds signing in the morning to wake you up (what a treat). The host Harish is super attentive and does great yoga, meditation and tea tasting classes everyday. You have many activities to do in the area - you are in the middle of a spice plantation which is so beautiful. This place is a hidden gem, isolated and quite relaxing.

A lovely experience to wind down, hear the birds chirp and experience nature amidst luxury. Mr. Harish and his team are professional and they run the resort without ever being seen. The property is located amidst a cardamom estate and the clouds say hello to you each evening. The food is healthy and delicious. The rooms are spacious, clean and ooze warmth during the cold Munnar nights. For anybody looking to disconnect from the pressures of this world, Kaivalyam is a wonderful recharge option. Highly recommend this lovely boutique hotel.

This place is unbelievably awesome. Anybody else providing this type of facilities would have charged thrice the rate. The hygiene, views, quality, staff behavior everything is perfect. Ashish who heads the kitchen is very helpful. Mahesh who sits at the reception helped book a cab to kolukkumalai at 3 in the morning when we confirmed just the previous night. Harishji who owns the place has done a PHENOMENAL job. Don't miss the estate walk, morning yoga sessions and tree houses. I'm coming back next year.

A piece of heaven in the midst of nature. Location is amazing with balcony opening to a real jungle with tall trees in a mountain back drop. In the evening time, you would literally walk through clouds. Staff is extremely courteous and speak multiple languages. Awesome breakfast spread. The 2 hours complimentary guided trekking through spice gardens is a memorable experience. You will cherish your stay for a long time to come. Went with kids and each of us had a great experience. Highly recommended.

Had an awesome experience staying there, the tree house is wonderful with amazing tea garden views, overall resort is very clean and lot of Greenery in around the resort. The complimentary breakfast is delicious, though they have limited menu for lunch and dinner still the food is very tasty. They provide pure vegetarian food.

Spectacular! This place is worth every penny. The peaceful vibes, warm hosts, the spa workers, guided hikes, serene spots and the list goes on. It was so peaceful throughout our stay. Unmatchable experience. Their yoga sessions early mornings are already good, but get even better when the sun rays gently touch you. Those moments are priceless and emotional. Amazing place, the rooms are outstanding, very clean and the staff is super helpful, the food is delicious. You are in the middle of the cardamom plantation among other wonderful spices:) Enjoy the morning yoga and evening meditation in the beautiful shala. Go watch the birds of munnar and enjoy a nice cup of fresh tea in the afternoon.

# While the property is a little old, it has been very well maintained and kept spotlessly clean. The rooms are spacious and provide a wonderful view.
# The owner and support staff are very courteous and super helpful.
# The food was excellent - the quality was great and the quantity (for a la carte dishes) was large enough for a family of 3.
# Complimentory activities are well planned and interesting.
# While overall location (Pullivasal) is a great location, the list-mile approach road to the property does need pro-driving skills. In case you are not an experienced driver esp.in hilly areas then strongly recommend taking help from the Kaivalyam Retreat for the last mile road. They do provide all the help so going down and coming up is not a big issue as such!

This is a wellness resort.they have suites cottages and tree house option available for stay I visited on my wedding anniversary had a very comfortable stay. This place is 7km way form munnar town.staff is really co-operative and so is the staff.they have e meditation hall yoga available ke at the resort and many indoor activities curated very well according to the need of the visitors like bird watching, spice garden tour, nearby theater watching, sunset point etc. Food is superb.overall a very good experience. Will visit again

Kaivalyam is easily one of the best places to stay in Munnar! It deserves the 5 stars and more. Spread across a very large area, beautiful clean rooms with the best views from the balcony. The service is quick and Ashish and Govind are always ready to help out! They have many on premises activities and they even offer a complimentary head massage.
The food is tasty and reasonably priced, however, it's pure Veg. They have paneer and Chinese options as well!
Manish at the front desk is also very helpful when it comes to arranging cabs in and around town.
The road to Kaivalyam is in good condition except the last 1km, but for that you can call Harish (manager) and he'll arrange to help you out!

It’s an amazing place to getaway in the nature. Wonderful placement and great service, best place to relax. Only small remark is that the last off-road bit (like 750 m) is a damn steep narrow road. However the staff and the owner were always ready to get your car up and down to/from the road traffic, if you’re not sure to drive.

We really had a wonderful experience staying at this place, amazing ambience, and exceptional staffs especially Mahesh at front desk. I must mention that the best thing was the delicious breakfast served!

The best place to relax and enjoy amidst nature. People here amazing and will make you feel at home with great service, freshly prepared food and relaxing activities which includes yoga, meditation, bird watching and spice garden tour. I highly recommend this place if you are going with your family, with your partner or even as a solo traveller.

Found this hidden gem after much research on the internet last year when we made an unplanned trip to Munnar!

The place: The place is located at the peak of the Munnar, amid thick plantations and tall trees.
It is heaven for those who appreciate nature. The rooms are well maintained, simple yet elegant. The place is run by an amazingly lovely couple, make sure you thank them before leaving the place.

The food: is included in the package, so it is unlimited and the fresh delicious home food is prepared and served, so make sure that you give them enough time.

The service: Again 10/10, the cook, driver, receptionist and the other helping staff are such nice people, you would love to interact with them.

Bottom Line: If you want to retreat from your hustle bustle city life to Nature, this is the place.

If you're looking for paradise, search no further! This retreat is a real gem, we loved absolutely EVERYTHING. The staff, the food, yoga classes every morning and meditation in the evening, birdwatching and tea tasting - that all was included, and we enjoyed it so much.
We want to thank everybody in the hotel, if I could I'd give 10 stars and come back immediately.

A memory of our stay here two years ago reminded me of the beautiful time spent at this retreat. Splendid views, amazing food and service and there is so much detail the helpful staff put into everything they do to make your stay superb.

A touching experience. The owners and the staff take personal pride in providing an experience that is rejuvenating. A lot of the staff has been working almost since the place opened more than a decade ago. A testament to the environment of the place, when even the staff is happy being there.

The place exceeded expectations at a lot of levels but most importantly the food. The food is vegetarian and is made to order. The preparation is fresh and the recipes delicious. You can see that they are really putting their hearts into serving you nutritious, tasty and fresh meals. I found the food to be very reasonably priced too for the quality.

There were additional things included in the room rate that other resorts charge steep prices for.

A must visit!

Though the retreat center only caters to veg food, trust me, you will love it. We didn't for a single meal missed not having non-veg.

We stayed in the property for 3 nights. It was an awesome and fantastic experience we had over the stay. The suite rooms were so classy and cosy. Very calm and peaceful environment with birds chirping all over your day. Coming to the food, it was so good and we had yummy tummy experience all the times.
Mr Harish & family, who are owning this property were so humble and took care of everything from the check in till the check out. It’s a must visit place when you visit Munnar. Awaiting for our next stay over there.

Okay tbh when I came from Kochi Airport directly to this place, I was having headache aa I took long flight nd then kerala hilly road helped me ro get good headache.so after 1 km driver came to pick us up.we were welcomed with amazing refreshing juice.we had paneer in dinner as this place is vegetarian.but omg what an scrumptious foods they provide, amd service of every staffs was phenomenal, large varities of breakfast they had from paratahas to bread to dosas etc. Ambience is worth each and every penny of your stay.beautiful place with mind blastic view, if you want to relax you can stay here for weeks or so. 5 star to this place.

The hospitality, service, food, cleanliness, ambience everything. Absolute perfection. Honestly for me, it beats staying at Taj also. Superb resort, Peaceful atmosphere, Hospitality, cleanliness. Its one of the resort in affordable price that is well suitable for family. The person who owns the resort directly manages it. He is very nice person in treating people. It's also has head massage therapy, safari, yoga, activities like bird watching, spice plantation hike, fire camp with music which comes as part of package. Full body massage is something you have to pay from your pocket. I highly recommend this hotel for family and people not into partying along with smokes or liquors.

Location: 7 km from Munnar town, free pickup from main road with hotel pickup since it is very steep. Cardamom and black pepper plantation on the grounds.

Rooms: Very clean and peaceful rooms with everything that you might need, large in size and comfortable beds

Food: Really fresh organic vegetarian food that all tasted deliciously home made. We are not vegetarians normally but felt actually very good. Great introduction into the Kerala cuisine as there is loads of variety, especially recommend the smoked eggplant mash and the pineapple pullisery. I would come here just for the food!

Activities: great range of activities (honestly didn't leave the resort in 3 days except for the tea walk). Especially liked the spice walk and cooking class - very uncommercial and authentic. Also got the 1 hour massage + 30 min Steam bath. Very nice with four hand massage and really a value deal! The spa girls were sweet and professional.

Service / team: very nice team that made us feel at ease in a genuine way e.g. The young restaurant manager gave good personalized food recommendations and the spice walk guide were very pleasant.

All in all, Kaivalayam was a great place to stay and we hope more guests come to enjoy this beautiful place!
