Also you can get tea&snacks form the shop from the outside of the palace. You can also come here for morning or evening walk. Also so many exhibitions and festivals make this place more famous and interesting.

Magnificent palace on a small hill, with stepped gardens and walkways. A place of solitude, contemplation and peace. They are inviting for all, young and old, desolate loners and lovers, groups of people passionately discussing current affairs.
The elegant, tall flag mast was missing its huge Tri colour flag this time.
There are a lot of shade trees and enough stone benches for e everybody.

Nice place to hang out. Good for evening and morning walks. There is a cafe inside the premises. Parking is limited as vehicles are not allowed inside the gates.

Not well maintained now a days. The historical place is maintained well where people can see. Back side is just messy

As on Nov 2021, it is open but you are not allowed to enter the palace permices. Work in progress. You can walk around the pathway.

Place is really cool since there is lot of trees. Meadows was maintained properly and they are caring the plants very well.

Most peaceful place inside the city for a good evening walk. Kanaukunnu has developed so much over the years. Used to come here as a child. Only place in tvm that hasn't degraded over the decades, like shankumukham beach etc.

Kanakakunnu Palace is one of the most beautiful and historically important palaces in Kerala and is located in the heart of the city, due to which it is easily accessible. It is said to have been built during the rule of Sri Moolam Thirunal, who was the then king of the Trivandrum region, in the 19th century. However, if you are looking forward to avoiding the hot sun and the humidity of Trivandrum, then the best time to visit is from October until the end of March, as during this period the humidity level is at a mean level and the weather is cool and pleasant.

Very good place. Really huge palace. It's in the heart of the city.you can get direct bus bus from east fort bus stand.it was closed due to the pandemic situation. But you can roam around the palace arena. Very peaceful place.loved it.

Located near Napier Museum in the heart of Trivandrum City. The palace is an architectural wonder built during the reign of Travancore King HH Sreemoolam Thirunal. The inside of the palace is decorated with beautiful crystal chandeliers and furnished with exquisite pieces of furniture. Nishagandhi Auditorium in the premises hosts various cultural programmes and meets. The important one is Nisgandhi Dance festival conducted annually under the auspices of Department of Tourists, Govt.of Kerala. A very beautiful garden is also maintained here. The city dwellers utilise the premises for morning/evening joggings.

Giving five stars and feeling proud that it is part of trivandrum city and also was thinking if trivandrum royal family was not there, this place also could have been abode to high rise apartments n crowd. Our governments should focus on more parks/ play areas etc for public use.

A nice place to have a walk, sit down and chat. Museum and Zoo is nearby. Most of the time there will be some cultural programs. Nishagandhi open theater is also inside this compound.

The place essentially is an old palace for the royal family to have meetings with the British. Now it's one of the beacons of festivities in Trivandrum. Best place yo hangout. U have benches here to sit and chill. There is no roof over where u sit so avoid noon hours and rainy days.

The palace was built by Sree Moolam Thirunal. Travancore dynasty had used this palace as a guest house. Now it provide cam and beautiful atmosphere to every visitor's
