So sorry that I visited. Went to look for a "pattu pavada" for my daughter. The sales girl was so arrogant and non-willing to show options that I felt I was doing something against the shop

Visited today. Sales staff not at all interested in making sales. She was not ready to show options.very much disappointed

It's bad that they don't replace things.seems not a middle class choice nowadays

Want to let you know that I had ordered and got a set Mundu for my daughter for her wedding in 1989 at your place in Trivandrum. I had given my own design. It was beautifully done. I would like to inform you that the Kasavu is just as good and so is the set Mundu. The qualiy is excellent! - Even after34 years!

Now I am looking at a Kasavu Saree for the next generation at your shop in Thrissur. I am at Kochi now. Hope to find a good one matching that quality.

Karalkada brand used to be really famous in Trivandrum, and even across Kerala. However, it's current lackluster state is understandable through its poor customer service. First of all there are two shops now, of the two, the bigger one doesn't have proper lighting itself. In the smaller shop, the lady executive who assisted us today was disinterested, arrogant and rude. She made us uncomfortable by sharing her disinterest to show us more products and made verbal comments whenever she was asked to show more products.

We had planned to take few setu mund for family members, but due to the arrogant and inappropriate attitude of the staff, we decided to purchase only minimum from there. Will not be visiting this place again.

Customer service needs improvement, not competent enough with the other clothing outlets in the city.

Traditional attires and garments are available. Dresses are a little on the costlier side. Selections are less though. No returns or exchanges. Car parking available.

A store, mainly for the famous Kerala sarees and mundus (dhoti) also known as Kasavu. The Kasavu garments are very expensive but they had a nice collection of lovely sarees at much more reasonable prices.

The best place to buy handloom clothes. They guarantee that they will not falter on their quality because they have their own looms and factories

Have you ever heard a showroom sales person asking the customer to check the price tag themselves when you ask for the price of the product. This happened to me during my recent visit to Karalkada. The sales woman who attended us did not look very pleased when we walked in; may be because of our looks. We had gone to buy a wedding saree and selected a piece. I had forgotten to take my glasses and could not read the price tag. It was then that I asked for the price and got the shocking reply to check it myself. I remembered those times when respectable old men used to display as many saris as we wish, with smiling faces, at the same shop.
Dear owners of Karalkada (siblings of the great Rajendran, my friend), please give your sales team a crash course on public relations urgently, otherwise your establishment will become a normal handloom shop like what we see at Balaramapuram roadside. To add, the saree we bought costed more than 30K. This made at least the cashier give us a thanking gesture.

Great and authentic collection, but they are quite old school, and is very expensive. A kasavu mind would cost anywhere between 4000 to 10000. If you are looking for pure handloom, go ahead.

Karalkada is one of the oldest handwoven shop in the city with legacy over than 170 years. They are the Manufacturers, stockist and also the retailors in this sector. They weave the handwoven materials to Travancore Kingdom in past. The old and their new shop is situated near passport office kaithamukku Thiruvananthapuram. They retain the old shop as it is. It is one of the heritage building in city. Parking space is available on new building.

Few weeks ago I shopped at this store. Used to be one of my favorite stores to buy dhotis and sets, that surpasses quality and price. But now, it’s a big rip off. Their price is super high and will never shop at this store again.

One of the best stores on Kerala for authentic Kerala wear, this place is no more taking new stock and the shelves which once were brimming with options are now almost empty. Still give this place a 5 star just coz it's a fav of mine, and am sure, of many others too.

Karalkada used to be first shopping destination for Thiruvananthapuram Citizens, who buy the traditional Kerala Wear for the traditional Hindu weddings. It is said that Karalkada was started to address the traditional wear requirements of the Travancore Royalty. The Balaramapuram Handlooms initially gained global popularity through Karalkada. Ahead the most popular wedding seasons, the shop used to be overflowing with Customers. The offerings have been slightly pricey.

In recent years, the Karalkada has lost its earlier popularity, with an internal family split, causing two shops with the same name to function side by side. Also, numerous other shops have come up all over the Capital City, offering wide variety of traditional Kerala Wear.

Decent collection and wide variety of saress. A bit expensive but you can get good quality sarees even at affordable prices. Worth visiting.

Once upon Karalkada was good. Now it lost the credibility. No quality products, poor management with a Lady manager who doesn't know how to deal with the customer. High price of items but without quality. They refuse any guarantees after single wash.

The dhothi here is of the best quality in kerala. The dhothies are worth the price and my father has been purchasing dhothies from karalkada since like 20 years. If you want to get the best dhothi go for it.

Traditional Best Quality hand woven dhothis anfd fabrucs were sold at this outlet. They were known throught the State of Kerala. Karalkada still has some of the best collections. However as the demand is falling the best days seem to be behind them.

Renovated showroom beside old passport office. Similar one is also present immediately next building having the same name but that is run by another management. Good collection of sarees and dhotis available. Prices are on the higher side but quality is very good.
