A famous restaurant with no contact info to contact authorised management personal. What a tasty restaurant it is? Huge prize to tasty items that can tolerate to upper finacial class. But in Ur local toddy shop, supplies are charging different amount for a single item. Also customers didn't understand why room boys (lottery ticket sellers) are employed, local lottery sellers for services in local Toddy shop? A third class toddy shop runs very better than Ur local toddy shop. Shamefull.
The main reason I visit Kerala is to eat here. The food is superb and truly the taste of "naadan" Kerala food. Highly recommend you try everything but specially recommend having the karimeen polichathu and drinking a nice cold kallu. Eating here has been a family tradition for decades and one we hope to continue if the food stays as good. If possible try to eat in the cool cave room they have for a truly unique experience.
"I recently dined at Karimpin Taste Land, and it was a delightful culinary adventure. We started with poratta and beef, which were a fantastic combination of flavors. The king fish curry was a highlight, and the chicken fry was nothing short of extraordinary.
However, what truly set this dining experience apart was the kallu appam, accompanied by the local delicacy, kallu (toddy). The kallu appam was exceptional, and sipping on fresh toddy added a unique touch to the meal.
Overall, Karimpin Taste Land offers a memorable gastronomic journey with its exceptional dishes and the opportunity to enjoy authentic kallu. If you're in the area, I highly recommend giving it a try. "
Very Poor Service. The Supervisor indirectly hint to eat and vocate the table quickly. I finished the food quickly and when I came back from wash room, my seat was given to another. I have to stand besides to them until the bill settled.
Food: The "shap" food you find here is below average compared to the interior "Kallu shaps" of Kottayam and Alappuzha districts.
Visited the restaurant on 18/07/23 for Lunch @ 1 Good food, ambience and service. Family friendly Food ordered and their review follow
Kappa (Tapioca) -4/5 (Good consistency and flavour, serves 1)
Madhurakallu-4/5 (Fresh and 2-3 glass serving from one small pot)
Normal meals -4/5 (serves 1)
Chatti choru -3.5/5 (moderate quantity of sides like squid roast, muscles, beef roast, chicken fry, anchovy fries, egg omlette, prawns masala was served which was descent-serves 2, normal meals in mud pot, no wow element)
Karimeen polichathu -5/5 (Good masala with grated coconut in it which gave a nice flavour-serves 2)
Manga itta thenga arecha meen curry -3.5/5 (Again nothing wow but good-serves 1)
Lobster -3/5 (Taste was really good but not a great lobster pick for the price paid-serves 1)
Pororta and Appam-4/5
Now the service part -5/5 (very friendly and attentive staff though it was packed) Ambience -5/5 we dined in the cave restaurant which was good Cleanliness -4/5 (clean wash area and washroom but broken hand wash pumps)
Mandatory valet parking which I personally don't prefer.
One of the best Restaurant/ Shaapu in terms of food quantity and Variety. Items every one should try are 1) Chatti choru, which is huge and comes with beef roast, prawns, chicken fry, dried fish, Omlette, natholi fry, tons of vegetarian side dishes and enough rice to serve 2-3 people. 2) Pork roast, definitely one of the best I ever had. 3) Fish curry meals. Which has meen peera, chemmeen chammanthi and vegetarian side dishes along with rice and Fish curry.
Beef fry was good but not mind blowing, better to opt for awesome beef roast which came with chatti choru.
Ambience is dark and gloomy. For someone claustrophobic this might not be the place to go. Service is efficient but during rush hours expect some delay.
Try to reach around 12.30 pm to avoid the lunch rush. Otherwise you may have to wait for a bit before getting a table.
Average food spot. That's all. It was good earlier, but in my last couple of visits, I could see the quality deterioration. Amble parking space available.
Nadan tasty food.good hospitality.family friendly. Awesome please to try Verity kerala traditional food. Keep going. 2023: 9: 06.now a days after a couple of year's. Service and food is very bad.plzz dont vist this place according to my experience.
Delicious food and tasty toddy Staff behavioural was good, but would have been way more better if they could add calling bells in every hut because I faced difficulties to find a bearer
Now I know what’s it all about! Best seafood ever! & we got Mr Kochmon to help he is the best. We had a huge family and he was able to get with everyone. Great guy. We took the A/C room and it was the best.
One of the best family friendly toddy shap I ever visited with an awesome ambience. They have very good parking spaces along with private huts and hall. One of the major attraction of the shap was their cave facility. Wow! Such a creativity. Hats off to the idea creator. Now coming to the food we had. We ordered karimeen roast, pork fry, squid roast, thala curry, appam and poratta. Karimeen made my taste buds burst with flavours. Uff! I still remember the first piece I had with appam. Appam I have no words to say.just go there and try it. Poratta was also good. Pork fry and squid roast simply marvelous I would say. Thala curry I just had tasted the curry only because I don't like fish thala. And now about toddy I had "kick odu kick" powli sanam. I really loved the chilled palm wine (Kallu) or toddy they served. Another major appreciation should be given to the staff behaviour, they come and ask about our opinions and if we were satisfied with the food we ordered. With all this factors I give them 4 stars, I rarely find all aspects of a restaurants that fulfills me and I found it here in karimpin taste land. Thank you for your great service ️ Sorry for the lengthy convo
Ampeience is not good, and the food taste was average. If you like to drink toddy with your family, this is the place for, they ac and non ac dining. Food quantity and quality should improve more.
Good for seafood, they have tasty kerala style food, Good ambience to sit over there, like huts inside even few sittings are like caves inside rocks. It was wonderful experience and delicious food with packing space.
One of the best family friendly toddy shop i preferred it. The food is good and tasty bt cannot be ranked extraordinary. We can taste veritys of naddan south indian dishes. And the most super thing I notice was staffs behaviour for customer satisfaction.they are doing good i will give 5 star for ther service. Having private huts providing us good privacy. Toddy are available in all huts, caves and halls. Toddy they serviced were clilled. I like it an am not sure that was the best quality. Because I don't have toddy much more!
YUMMYYYY. BEST PLACE FOR FAMILY REFRESHMENT. Kerala dishes were the best.karimeen polichathu adipwoli, delicious dishes for reasonable price. Chilled toddy. The taste of Kerala
Here we can experience the real "naadan" taste. The Karimeen pollichathe is one of the best dish. Also, the Appam and Kappa is nice too. The combination of Karimeen Pollichathe and Kallappam is one of the best combination which you can try here, this combo with a Kodam of Madhurakalle will be awesome. The rate is not so high but not so low either, it is somewhat in-between. The service here is also good.
Wanted to try local authentic Kerala food and this hotel was recommended. The interiors are very interesting with a cave like finish and look. Good variety of sea food. Tried the tiger prawns which were good but not really tiger size and fried in too much Masala. Masala prawns were tasty the full fried fish was also good. Worth a visit. Karimeen pollichath is super
I'm from Tamilnadu i went to kerala for first time. I'm was able to find a good restaurant for food is karimpin. Food is too Delicious. I could really taste the favour of kerala dishes. I would suggest all with your family can try this restaurant and all spicy lover must try the marimeen fry once in yours lifetime it awesome.
There wasnt a single negative remark about this restaurent.everything saw wonderful they provide delicious kerala dishes the hospitality and services was very good.highly recomended!
The ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant is awesome ️Menu consists of various categories of dishes which enhance your taste buds. Cool place to hangout with your friends and family.totally its a cool exoerience you will never regret
Hai friends myself Rahul. From Mavelikara. The Quality of the food served in Karimpin Taste Land was really awesome. Especially we friends go there for our get-togethers. My personal opinions are, APPAM, MEENCHUTTY CURRY, KAPPA.big Prawns are available here personally i suggest don't go for it. Also the fried items are much oily.
Good good. Good service and plenty of dishes to choose from. Along with chilled yoddy in clay jugs. This place has two serving areas. One is at the front, 4-5 non A/C Bamboo huts other one is inside modelled like the interior of a cave which also has air-conditioning. You can reserve your seats via phone also
If you are visiting Kottayam and you are a foodie, you must definitely visit Karimpin Taste Land, aka Karimpinkala Restaurant & Toddy Shop. It is in the outskirts of Kottayam town, easily accessible via road. They offers a parking facility for the customers. For family their is a seperate section of building renovated with awesome interiors resembling a Cave. They offer a wide variety of traditional "Shap" cuisines, and famed for the combination of tapioca, fish curry combo. The thali meals also worth mentioning here in additional to the friendly staffs there. This place is truely awesome for get together, family Lunch etc.
If you want to enjoy good karimeen prepared in the traditional kottayam style and sip a little toddy to add to the taste, this is the place to go. My usuals here are the kappa and matinee pollichathu. The costs are little above the normal levels, but the quality of food and service is good.
Fabulous place! Went inside and not in one of those huts. The selection in terms of Kerala food was amazing; However selection of any sort of Chinese of British food selections were none.
