Had dinner here. Puttu was the only available item. The special cinnamon black tea was good. The wash area was quite unsatisfactory. The dirty water outlet was directly to the backwaters. There was no washroom
A beautiful and decent place to spend time evening time with your near and dears. The main attraction is the ambience, although the arrangements are very simple. Food variety are not much, but all the dishes are local cuisine prepared in very delicious manner. The area needs improvement is the most the main dish served like Kappa, porotta etc were not hot at all. When we asked the staff to hear it, they did. But when we repeated the order the condition was same. Other area is lot of mosquito were disturbing our mood. The staff can think about putting some mosquito repellent considering large number of guests including children visit there.
Overall a worth place to visit. North Indian customers may not like the cuisines much unless you are interested in traditional and local Kerala food.
Ambience is the highlight. Food was also good. It is just a decent setup without much amenities, but enough to attract its customers. There isn't much tables available, we had to wait outside for our turn. Staff were good, they will note the arrival and arrange the tables on availability. Not much variety dishes mostly the local cusines.different types of Puttu, Beef, Chicken, potty etc. Haven't seen a restroom over there and they should consider expanding. There is ambient parking space.
The place is a small shack located alongside beautiful backwaters in kumbalangi. We were first dejected as a lot of the options in the menu were not available especially no vegetarian dishes. But the owner and the staff there were extremely friendly and quickly got things we wanted from nearby market. The food was delicious and inexpensive. We heard from the locals that the place is usually very crowded but we were lucky to have the entire place to ourselves with a great view of backwaters lit with colourful fairy lights. You'd leave the place with a happy heart!
Food and ambience is good, but felt it to be a lil expensive. They are charging 100 rs for chicken puttu. And one bowl of puttu is not sufficient for an adult as u need to buy atleast 2 of it. If the prices are standardised, then it would be a great choice.
Disappointed.this is at my own place.kumbalanghi.it has a Good ambience. The food is also good even if the number of items on the menu is limited.we had actually planned for a candlelight dinner.we also informed the time to the owners of kayaloram before itself.they told us that all the arrangements will be done by them.we went there but no arrangements were set by them.we waited for about 10 minutes for the set up.only 2 plastic chairs and a table with a small candle was provided by them.not even a table cloth, wipes, nor the plain water was provided by them.we ordered only erachi puttu but they charged us ₹610.but when we complained about this, they gave back only ₹60.the cost of setting for candlelight is 500 rs. I think better setting a table in ur balcony and enjoy ur dinner.please don't get trapped in their words. I think please don't go for an option of candlelight when it comes to kayaloram.for normal purpose the place is good.
A simple place with a beautiful view. You can sit there and enjoy the beauty of backwaters and fishing nets for a few minutes after which you cannot bear mosquito bites. The opening time is 7: 30pm. We reached a little earlier and left without having anything. We asked for black tea and they said it'd be ready in 10 minutes. We waited 1 hour and then was asked to wait a few more minutes. They serve puttu, cuppa with non veg preparations.
Kanan kollavunna place.selfie edukaanum post cheyanum patum.fud athyavasyam kollam.oru candle light dinner plan cheythitu veruthu poy.really bad experience.no arrangements were done by them.we waited for about 10minutes even if they were informed earlier by us.there were only 2 plastic chairs and a table with lighted candle.no tissue.no table cloth.and not even the plain water was supplied to us. Very bad experience.
An ideal place to spend a weekend Eve with friends or family.versatile choices of tastes and dishes makes it a must visit place for foodies.everyone who loves to have a nice evening enjoying great food and music with a lake view can choose this beautiful place.
Peaceful atmosphere, good ambience, lovely music, calm water and soothing breeze. They provide good quality beef and sea foods. Friday evening is a perfect time as you can get rid of weekend rush.
We expected crab items but not available in their menu.
We went there after watching the malayalam film Kumbalangi Nights. Very good atmosphere. The light arrangements were awesome. We can relax and eat their delicious foods. Dishes are so good. Especially irachi puttu and vellayappam are very tasteful. Rates are reasonable.
The night ambiance was good with cool breeze and nice songs playing softly. The food was also good with different varieties to try with the puttu and Tea is a must try! Overall Kayaloram is a good place to eat and spend some time with your friends and family.
A really good ambience, a beautiful location and beautifully laid out restaurant, against calm waters with chinese fishing nets on the other side.the service did take some time, but the food (erachi puttu) was great and the black tea even more excellent. The perfect place to go if you are in a hangover of kumbalangi nights: D
Great ambience! Unfortunate that we couldn’t check out the food as we didn’t plan on going here first.couldn’t come back without having anything, so sipped some black tea and it was good hehe! Overall - a fine spot to spend quality time with friends and loved ones in the evening! Oh - and def get some good snaps! Beautiful backdrop with the fishing nets!
Good ambience. Tasty local food. Only con is there's not much variety i the food. Expected sea food from a lakeside restaurant whuch was also absent. But still choice to go for a peaceful eve with ur family or friends
Wonderful place and atmosphere. We can have Kerala traditional food in.a pleasant environment near to the lake. Their menu is not large enough but it's good enough. Good place for family.and with friends.
The only drawback is the delay on getting seats.and food. So consider calling them and book for seats.and food prior to visit.
Beef potty is the best in the menu. All food items are very tasty, except kakka puttu. Kakka puttu was over pepper taste rather than kakka. Black tea also is a must.
Good tasty food for reasonable price. Good ambience and well maintained place. Suitable for family also. They provide good quality and tasty non vegetarian foods. Evening time is mostly crowded. The restaurant is situated near iIllickal junction in Kumbalangi tourism village.
Its a small food joint with a different ambience, serves food from 7.30 pm only. Menu very limited but whatever they serve is really good and reasonable for the price you pay and the staffs are well mannered. The place can accomodate around 35 people at a time and they do arrange events as well rent out on mondays.
The ambiance was great. Simply loved it. The lighting with nothing but the serial lights was awesome. Even the food tasted better. But what I felt can be improved is hospitality. Our group could have spent 500-1000 bucks more if the food has been served in a much better way. There was a deadly waiting for our food, and even when served, those guys messed up. So if they can improve in that sector too, the whole experience will be killer. One of the most peaceful restaurants I have been to. So close to nature. Loved it.
