Good to see that Kempu is now open that too till 11pm. It was one of my fav family destinations. Even though its really kathy to spend 750rs for 4 ghee roast with coffee, it has a nice ambiance with a bit of peace in the restaurant.
Title: A Flavorful South Indian Experience at BTH Kempu Restaurant
I recently dined at BTH Kempu Restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the delectable South Indian cuisine on offer. The dosas and Chana batura were the highlights of my meal with my family.
The Rava dosa and Ghee roast at BTH Kempu were simply exceptional. Crispy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside, they were served with a variety of flavorful chutneys and sambar.
The batura was fluffy and light. The flavors were well-balanced, but for me I personally prefer spicy food and here it was kinda bland.
The ambiance of the restaurant was comfortable, and the service was prompt and attentive.
One of the oldest and trusted restaurant in and around Kochi. Clean Interiors with nice and simple ambience. Been there lot of times with Family. I loved their Breakfast and would definitely gives the thumbs up!
Everything is extremely over priced and the portions are tiny. Place is kept quite neat and the ambience is very good. The ridiculous pricing will leave you dumbstruck when you get the bill.
A good vegetarian cafe near Durbar Hall. Meals are available only during lunchtime. Snacks, juice and hot beverages are available during rest of the day. Food rates are a bit pricey, but service is good. Seats are limited.
Good ambience, perfectly clean environmnt, but didnot like the taste of food served.it wasjust OK, noting special as such, not worth of the 180/- wich dey charge for a person.
Best option for vegees specially southindian dishes in kochi kempu is coffee shop from BTH for quick bytes only few dishes available here but very tasty one best thing is one little play area for kids must try puttu kadala and chana bathoora, rave dosa
Kempu is a premium vegetarian restaurant owned by BTH. All orders have to be taken as prepaid. Food quality is good, but you will have to pay a double or sometimes 4 times than what you can get here in ordinary restaurants. Actually, this restaurant don't have a parking lot and you will have to share the limited parking area of BTH to park your vehicle. Overall, its not a value for money restaurant.
They serve the best vegetarian food in town! Dosa, idli, poori, batoora, vada, puttu.you name it, they have it. We have been frequenting this place for years!
Superb veg meals. The rate is a little bit high but we will be satisfied after having the meals. It's a coupon service. We should take the coupons at the entry.
Vegetarian snacks, coffee and juices are available. Tasty food. Easy access from one of the main roads namely Durbar Hall Road in Ernakulam city. This eatery is an part of one of the old restaurants cum lodgings.
I suppose the restaurant is known as Subhiksha and Coffee House is Kemp’s. This was the first hotel in Kochi that I have tasted. And I was enchanted by the taste and the ambience of the place. Meal is served on banana leaf. And the taste, I have never tasted such food in Mumbai. This was too good as the first experience of food in Kochi. On that note, Kochi you have some high expectations now ️
Considering its legacy, Kempu restaurant in BTH Hotel, needs to scale up. It's neither Kerala flavour nor Tamil flavour. The filter coffee will not be liked by those used to Tamil style filter coffee. Had dahi vada and the vada had no "uzhunu" (type of Dal) in it, making it too dense and not allowing the cool curd to be absorbed. Food is consistent in quality and still attracts a lot of patrons due to its reputation and location. Prices are reasonable. Toilet upkeep is poor and was smelly.
