Kerala house boaters

The boat house is great. The boat was squeaky clean, the room is good. It is definitely worthwhile exploring Kumarakom once. Ajil is great with assisting and people on the boat were very welcoming, food was great too. The only downside is High cost during peak season.

Had an amazing ride through the gorgeous Kumarakom backwaters. We booked the stay option. Chek in at 12 noon, ride through the backwaters till 5.30 and they park the boat at the shore we had started the journey. You'll get complimentary breakfast before checkout at 9.
The staff was so friendly and courteous. Accomodated all our requests. The food was made on the boat itself and it was delicious.

Pictures looked better than real life. Our contact was good on communication but should have been more upfrojt about pricing. MAKE SURE to go over all the pricing before hand to avoid surprises. The boat was old and not in the best shape. AC in one room didn't blow cold air.

Food was amazing and tasted great. But definitely recommend Alapuzha instead of Kumarakom for better houseboat experience.

We planned our friends bridal shower + bachelorette party with this group - and it was the best decision ever. We had a lovely time. The staff was kind and helpful. The chef cook was good and the food tasty, made to our preferences and timings. The captain interacted very nicely with our 10-year old child and let her steer the boat for a little while. Room and bathroom were clean and functional. These houseboats are super luxurious, equipped with all the modern day basic amenities, the ones you find in a good hotel room. You have options of one room or multiple rooms (AC n non AC both) depending on your grp size.
Other than the captain, there are 2-3 more staff, including the cook to take care of your needs during your stay.
The food will be cooked from the fresh produce which they stock from the small villages on the way and you get to taste the most amazing finger licking food both in veg n non veg varieties.
So whenever you visit Kerala, do add the houseboat trip to your bucket list, a must have experience.

Food was good, specially the fresh fish, the boat was very nice with good rooms and beautiful architecture.

Had the most amazing time. We went with the non-motorised option from Kodamthuruth rather than the motorised boats in Alleppey. So peaceful and so much wildlife. We stayed overnight and the sunrise was unforgettable. Can’t recommend enough.

Very neat and cleanly maintained boat. Food was good. Speaker system was very useful. Had great fun. And the sunset view by evening is the one you should never miss.

We booked the Keralahouseboaters for two nights for 6 people. It was a wonderful experience right from the beginning, where the owner welcomed us with a refreshing drink and offered us a choice of beverages to take on the boat with us. Once on board, the three-member crew comprising Captain Nishanth, the chef and one staff member made pleasant conversation with us and explained our itinerary.

The meals were mostly traditional Kerala fare - they were sumptuous and filling, and the chef took inputs from us and customized the menu to our liking. The two-day itinerary included endless serene vistas, a village walk, and a visit to an old but fully restored Roman Catholic church.

The rooms were spacious and clean. All bedrooms and the dining room were air conditioned and the sit-out space was open to the elements. Bathrooms were well-equipped too. The water was a little salty, but some fresh water was provided in the common area for washing hands and mouth.

Overall, we felt that the high level of care shown to us by the owner and all the crew members made this an extremely relaxing and satisfying vacation. Would recommend keralahouseboater to anyone who is looking for a getaway from the daily grind.

One of the best experiences in Kerala is cruising around backwaters in a houseboat. The food served on the houseboat is authentic South Indain food. A must experience if you are in Kerala.

The experience was wonderful. Can't forget that very day. Calm soothing refreshing feels on the back waters. The food was amazing, freshly prepared. I would really suggest people to to visit it.

Alappuzha or Alleppey, known more popularly as the ‘Venice of the East’ is blessed with a chain of unique natural water-scapes known as “backwaters”.
Kerala houseboats are the speciality of a Kerala tour & cannot be missed!
Backwater can be defined as a the location where fresh water from rivers meets the Arabian Sea.
My day tour on the houseboat was on the Vembanad lake, which is the largest backwater here. The unique ecosystem of the backwaters adds more excitement to the tour.
My tour to Allepey was during December, & the moderately cooler days made the journey on the houseboat even more pleasant, as the mild sunrays lightly touch you under the vast sky, surrounded by pristine blue waters! Each houseboat here is so uniquely designed, you just can't help admiring them!
As the boat takes you through the backwater canals, you will come across the locals staying there on the banks of the backwaters, & they doing their daily chores. The rural essence there is so unique in itself!
Also we stopped by on a small island, where we enjoyed the sweet coconut water along with a falcon bird that entertained us.
The overall awesome experience in “God's own country” is seriously incomplete without a houseboat tour, which is so so unique in the entire country!
So keep travelling.keep munching.keep “sailing”!

The houseboat is very clean and spacious. And the staff is really kind and helpful to us. The chef is an awesome guy who makes delicious fish curry.
