Ordered 1 fish fry, they pushed for 2 saying 1 won't be enough for two people. And delivered a 2 giant fish fries, which atleast 6-8 people can eat. And charged around 1000 per fish, costing us 2000+ for a lunch of two people. It was very disappointing on how they made the most out of a customer.
Veg Meals is the only thing we can have. Neymeen pollichathu is utter waste. Yesterday they may have cleared all cold storage. Very bad experience with fish items.
Not so great, wash room doesn't have proper ventilation, all the places is stinky. Food is not so great, doesn't have authentic taste of kerala, but bills are very high comparing food quality. Not value for money. U can have kerala food that's all, not with the good taste
Rare restaurant getting Kerala style meals at night 7.00PM to 10.00PM. The fish curry served was tasty but very spicy the fish fry was not fresh. Situated in Kaloor Kadavanthra Road.
Nice place to checkout seafood options. We tried Karimeen pollichath and prawns fry along with veg meals. The Karimeen Pollichath came wrapped inside a banana leaf which was amazing to see and to taste. Veg meals was also delicious and also not mention the payasam (dessert) served along with the meals was enough to make our tummy sumptous. Definitely worth trying
Very good option for sea food dishes, also serve other vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. Good ambience and service. Sea food dishes are normally costly and it is the same here also.
The restaurant is very good with respect to food, ambiance and excellent service. I had veg meals, it is awesome and the sambar is different then other parts of Kerala, and also they provided meals in a big banana leaf and the taste of subji is also superb. The restaurant is famous for its sea foods, I tried squid, the taste is superb
I recently dined at Kettuvallam, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. I opted for their "Fish Curry Meals, " and I was blown away by the flavors. The fish curry was perfectly spiced and had that authentic Kerala taste that I was craving for. The use of local spices and ingredients. The "Neymeen Fry" was a standout. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the frying technique was spot on. It was crispy on the outside while remaining tender and flavorful on the inside. It paired wonderfully with the tangy fish curry.
I don't know what is all the hype about this place. The food was all normal. Just usual. Nothing wow to say about it. We were four of us. We order a meal, a butter chicken, 2 beef roast, porota & appam (8 each) & lime.
I was suprised when I saw the bill. 3000!
If I go to a tooday shop, I can get the same items much cheaper & much tastier.
NB: Forgot to mention. After having our lunch, we did not go home directly as we had to do shopping & thought it'd be also better not to travel 2.5 hrs right after food. So we took our time in Kochi. After a solid 3 hrs, we decided it was time to head back home. On the way, my neice kept vomitting almost half of the trip back home. She did say at the restaurant itself the chicken was too hard & did not taste good.
Kettuvallam is one of the best naadan style restaurant in Kochi which provides tasty food at a very affordable pricing, which would attract the common people. This is not for people who looks for fine dine. Service is also amazing.
Its good for fish items though the rates are like star hotels! Koontal fry is a must try, sravu varutharacha curry was good too. The prawn fry is just an utter waste and they charged 600Rs for a prawn fry! Its too high compared to the taste and quantity, Meals were well and good. The parking is bit difficult here.
