Khanan Beach Resort

Stayed there for 3 nights, it is pleasent and beautiful place to stay for family. Kids are gonna love the pool.
Staff is courteous.
Sea is rough at few places but there are few other stretches where one can get in and enjoy

We have stayed at Kanan beach resort twice - a beach resort is an experience I look forward to when visiting my parents from the U. S once a year - and I really wanted to give them 5 stars.

However the hospitality can benefit from serious improvements. We were hassled from the night before departure (while trying to have a relaxed dinner) to the morning of departure with questions about what time we were going to check out. The front desk even called my father’s cellphone! (when we were trying to enjoy the serenity of nature), asking us when we were going to check out. These were rude and unprofessional interruptions to an otherwise peaceful experience. When presented with this feedback, the lady at the front desk tried to explain this by saying that she wanted to make sure the bill was going to be settled appropriately. What kind of reputable establishment doesn’t trust their guests to settle their bill during the regular checkout process and instead hassles them during their stay - did they think we were going to swim into the ocean to avoid the bill or climb the gate out? Pretty bizarre and annoying.

While checking out, the lady at the front desk tried my credit card and immediately said that it doesn’t have enough money on it or doesn’t work. A strange allegation, for it took me less than 5 seconds of looking at their credit card machine to notice that all that needed to be done was the pressing of a Continue button and a signature to get through the transaction. Her lack of effort and knowledge on how to operate the machine for American credit cards was perhaps excusable but the way she handled it was not, instead of asking her management for assistance or apologizing claiming it was the customers fault. It was again unprofessional for a resort of such caliber.

No other complaints. A beautiful resort and apart from these kinds of minor insults/annoyances you will have a lovely experience. We are on the fence about returning back (will update this review if we visit again) but we wish Kanan the very best, they have great potential and a good thing going.

This is such a lovely resort, I won't be able to describe in words. The cottages are great, clean. Have sitting area with a nice kitchenette. Locker facility is available. The bedroom is cozy. Bathroom is big and nice with rain shower.

The restaurant have a nice sea view. Food is decent and portion size is generous.

Coming to the most important thing the people. They are kind and always ready to help.

You will feel relaxed and safe. And you will fall in love with this resort.

Wonderful place for a relaxed vacation!
We visited as a family with our 5 month old baby and the whole team at Kanan Beach Resort were so nice and helpful and accompanied all our requests we had because of our baby. The resort is well maintained and in a beautiful surrounding, lush green garden, palm trees, pool with a view on the lovely beach. There are several sun beds to relax. The rooms are very spacious, with an open living room concept, and a veranda to sit outside and enjoy the view. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant every day which was excellent, definitely try the pancakes for breakfast! Finally I also want to highlight the lovely staff, who were so nice with our baby and generally welcoming. We will definitely come back.

Very nice stay at Kanan Beach resort for new year eve and a few extra days. Beautiful resort, nice staff, fantasttic Theyyam celebrations. Congrats to tge team for organizing so nice new year eve gala party, music band great and magik fireworks on tbe beach.

Super good place
Food was excellent and hospitality outstanding. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff Mr sakesh Ji and Maneger and all staff they were super good friendly, polite and the restaurant is very flexible. The best part is the beach view and swimming pool. Overall our stay was amazing and I'd highly recommend a visit if what you're looking for is a memorable trip. Without any doubt one of the best resort in Nileshwar Kerala

May last week pre-monsoon season i stayed with family - welcoming weather and resort

Got a cottage sea facing. With coconut trees around, good privacy and excellent sea breeze. As we enter we get a welcome with tender coconut. A walk through to our cottage was pleasure. So many different trees and birds. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 are facing the sea. Lunch was sumptuous, quantity was great. Excellent service and request for spice and deep frying was managed well. There is a swimming pool, it's clean and 1.2 to 1.5 meters depth. Patrons need to care for their children as there are no pool attendants. They have a spa and massage also. With just 10 cottages it's a quiet place and excellent for relaxation.

Beautiful place right at the beach. Prakash and his team go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Food is very good. Pool and rooms are kept clean and tidy. Will keep visiting this place in future as well.

1. There can be a Kids pool section with 2/3 feet depth.
2. BreakFast items can be posted somewhere in the restaurant.

I believe most of the viewers are here to see the difference between Malabar n Kanan, so let me add some points as I experienced both.

Ambience - Both are good
Rooms - Both are good
Room service/ House Keeping- Kanan is far better than Malabar. - Rooms are clean, Towels are new and good
Staff at Reception - Without any doubt Kanan

Food - Complimentary BF is buffet in Malabar, but it is a kind of Ala-carte in Kanan. Quality & Taste is better in Kanan.
Pool - Pool design and safety is good in Malabar. Pool in Kanan is not safe for kids.

All other items are almost same.

We stayed in a family cittage with sea view. The stay was excellent. Kids really enjoyed the beach and pool. The property was well maintained.
Cons: Items can be added in the breakfast menu.

Bit expensive for a middle class family point of view. But its worth spending for your leisure time without outside disturbances and for the ambience.

Food - Breakfast is good. Other food we ordered is decent and quantity is good.
You can't take outside food to the resort.

Activities - Swimming pool is common but clean.
The management should include few more activities like badminton court, table tennis, etc should be thought about.

Beach: its very deep and waves are strong should be very careful specially if you are planning to take a swim. Quite and calm beach

We visited here on 25th sep. Didnt stay overnite but a day full spent here. Lovely place to be with your kith n kin. Beautiful ambience alongside the beach. Neat and well maintained property. Enjoyed. (would be an understatement). The stay at Kanan beach resort. Very clean, very calm.fantastic cottage.can accommodate 6-8 people easily.though the authorities allow only about 4 or 5 max I would assume. Very friendly staff.good food.and to top it all off a great, clean, private beach.that does not let you leave its side.a must experience nature stay.

Excellent property with private beach. Well kept. Not too crowded, have around 10 cottages. We stayed in the family cottage. The food was also good both veg and non veg. Nice staff aswell.

This is hidden gem on the pristine beaches of kerela. Located 20kms from bekal, this property is so calm and peaceful, you just wish to stay more. A very clean private beach, beautiful kerela style cottages and amazing hospitality. The place will leave you mesmerized. Must visit and stay if you come down to thisbpart of India.

Calm and relaxing ambience. Best place to enjoy the sunset.it will be wonderful lying on a pool-side lawn, sipping our favourite drink and watching the sun setting in to the horizon of Arabian sea.

Dieses Restaurant muss man einfach lieben, obwohl die Anfahrt nicht unbedingt einladend wirkt. Kaum ist man durch das Eingangstor gefahren, empfängt einem eine herrliche südländische Atmosphäre mit Palmen Strand und dem Meer. Die kleinen Häuschen sind mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht, noch dazu sehr einfallsreich und liebevoll. In einem Freiluftrestaurant, bekommt man gutes Essen in einer wunderschönen Umgebung.

Excellent beach resort. If u are looking for a serene place, this is a place to visit. Being a resort in Kerala, I didn't had high hope on food. But excellent food as well. Beach is hardly 100 metre away. You can hear the wave sound.

The ambience and the location is simply awesome.it is right on the beach. Chef is great and in general the food is great.what is missing is a good bar at the place.

Perfect for a holiday. Extremely quite. However food is pathetic. Spoils your holiday and even management after repeated complaints have not paid any heed.

Beautiful property with an almost private beach but the staff are not managing well. Food is super expensive and not worth for it. Clean pool. Went with our kids and they thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Had a bad experience though, ordered khichdi for our 2 year old kid and it had many broken plastic pieces. Watch out for what you eat!

Had an amazing stay with family at Kanan Beach resort. This place has a pristine beach and the rooms are very clean and comfortable as well. The only part that was sub standard and disappointing was the food.

Beautiful location and set up, gorgeous food and super friendly and professional staff. You feel warmly welcome as soon as you arrive, definitely would recommend.
