This place could be one of the best chips shops in Kozhikode and even all of Kerala. The prepare it in a very traditional way. They are very consistent in texture and quality. It's right opposite the famed Paragon hotel. They also offer a plethora of other Kerala snacks. They use a big pit to burn coconut husk and deep fry the thinly sliced banana. When In kozhikode, so give this place a visit. Do remember they don't accept any forms of digital payment including UPI. That is very weird considering they have a high amount of sales happening at their outlet. Even when on asking the bill, the person seemed to be very reluctant. That's one of the very weird aspects of their business.
Rude staff. No payment method other than cash. Too much waiting time and staffs are arrogant. Faced several times issues with staff. Few times i had to leave from shop without buying, due to staff's behaviour.
Hot tasty banana chips are made here right in front of your eyes. Apparently this is a very old bakery in Kozhikode located near the famous Paragon restaurant.
Give this place a shot for their banana chips. They even have halwa. Prices are reasonable I feel (360rs/kg). I really liked the banana chips here and finished them in 2-3 days on my own.
I still think this is one of the best places in Calicut to get Banana Chips, the only negative is they still only accept cash or no other mode of payments.
A small shop opposite Paragon hotel, this place is quite easy to miss. They make undoubtedly the best banana chips ever! The chips are made fresh every day and very thin and crispy! Expect a short wait at their busiest times.
Hot banana chips being prepared right in front of us.and selling like hot cakes at 8am. Must try pineapple halwa.another customer who was there to buy some goodies recommended that i must try and it definitely was a great buy.
The most famous fresh banana chips seller in Calicut. Their banana chips are extremely fresh, thin and crispy that you can’t resist eating them. They also have other snacks like halwa, tapioca fry, mixtures etc. The prices are cheap as well. The only issue is that it’s difficult to find a place to park your vehicle. Almost always busy this spot is the place you need to buy your banana chips.
Very crisp and tasty banana chips. They making and selling at an amazing pace. Had to wait 15 minutes to get the chips as they were sold out in minutes. Very friendly people behind the counter. Bought many items including the Halwa and everything tasted wonderful.
Small sweet shop selling traditional kerala sweets and chips with lot of varieties of stuff.banana chips are prepared fresh. Special sweet which I loved was Wheat Halwa. Too juicy, oily and chewy
One of the best and famous place for banana chips. You can also get all kinds of bakery items. They also have many kinds of kozhikode halwa which is tasty and reasonably priced.
Bought mixed nuts halwa and banana halwa. It was overall good but expected the halwa to be more flavoursome. The banana halwa didn't bring out the flavour of plantain
Everyone in Kozhikode love the banana chips from Kumari. It's the best banana chips in Kerala. Love the way they slice the chips, then wash it to bring a nice clean look and then fry it on fire from coconut husk. The consistency in taste and texture is amazing. What is unique, which adds to the taste is the wafer thin slice and crispiness of the chips.
The best banana chips the world can offer. Thinly sliced and fried to perfection. Also right amount of Salt. So that once you chew it, it doesn't become sticky goo unlike other chips from other places. Dry fruit halwa from this shop is also amazing. Tips: 1. Find a parking spot for your car away from shop. Because the road is narrow with heavy traffic. Also the shop is crowded, so you may have to queue up. 2. Carry a sturdy cotton bag/ bags to carry the chip packets. Already creating too much plastic waste by packing all those chips. Also, unless you have a sturdy bag, chip cover may tear by the time you reach your car. 3. Be ready to wait. Especially evenings and weekends. 4. It's worth all your efforts. Simply Do It!
Small place Recommended by a localite. He was right. Halwa good. If you like coconut oil sweet, really good. Some are ghee halwa - for those who don't like coconut oil sweets. Banana chips are very good.
A small shop opposite Paragon hotel, this place is quite easy to miss! They make undoubtedly the best banana chips! Expect a short wait at their busiest times.

The best and the best banana chips available across the whole world. I come here from Bangalore just to buy chips. The bananas are cut very thin and that makes the chips to be crispier and tastier. This place is located 1 km away from Kozhikode (Calicut) railway station and for the first timers, its quite difficult to locate the place since its in a congusted area. Prices are reasonable and is open from 10-6. If you're a chips lover, then don't miss going here buying some chips to satisfy your cravings.
Very tasty and best banana chips. Their chips is very thin and tasty. It is available as hot and fresh. All the items are good especially the fried items and among them banana chips is the best. Kozhikodan Halwa is also available there. It is located under CH railway over bridge and just opposite to paragon at Calicut.
Good freshly made chips, halva. Does not accept any other modes of payment other than CASH. Especially when any item costs over 250 per kg it is advisable to have atleast Paytm if not EDC. Not everybody would carry thousands in cash in the pocket.
We've been customers of this small shop in Calicut through many generations now. They create finely sliced banana chips that are super crispy and tasty. You can't stop at just one bite!
The two stars are for the super thin banana chips, jackfruit chips, and tapioca chips. Awesome taste. No doubt about it. But very very bad Service. They were not able to handle the crowd. Inspite of knowing that we were tourist, were waiting eagerly to buy the chips, the main guys were very rude and not able to understand our orders properly though we spoke the local language. We didn't surely like the attitude. BTW, we came to know of another shop called Sastha chips very close to Tali Shiva temple, which sells awesome chips. Unfortunately it was closed by the time we went. Yeah, we we' ll never go back to Kumari chips again.
Almost all hand made sweets available, skilled baking staffs and traditional selling way. Quality assured baking are differentiate them. Good customer base made their business to next level. They are getting a advantage of famous paragon restaurants which direct infront of this. And parking of CH over Bridge space. Banana chips and kozhikodan halwa is famous here. It is situated near to mananchira, Calicut head post office.
#BananaChips of Kumari are awesome. Perfectly salted. The only drawback of plain salted banana chips is perhaps they are too thin. It needs to be handled with more care than most delicate glass otherwise, you will end up with chips converted to flakes.
The sweet variety perhaps gets extra strength and durability from caramelised coating.
