Lakelands Cruise

We stayed here on 20th Nov 22 in a seven rooms house boat, the food quality was very poor and unhygienic, very old house boat with full mosquito in room at night and we couldn't sleep whole night. Only positive was very friendly and co-operative staff. We will not chhose this Lakeland cruise house boat agency next time there are many others better ones.we fill this was a real waste one day, Not value for money, please avoid this Lakeland cruise house boat.

We booked a private deluxe house boat and it was too dirty. There were lizards everywhere around 20-25 lizards in just 3 rooms and washrooms. Lots of cobwebs in the bedrooms and washrooms.
Furniture was very old and wobbly. The whole boat needs a renovation. The only thing was the food and the staff. Their service was awesome. But the overall experience was very very bad.
I would not recommend this to anyone. Its a waste of money and time and moreover your holiday will be spoiled.

Staff is good. House boat is the worst. Toilet is very bad shape. Not worth for night stay. Owner is making money. I won't recommend this co. There are other good and New boat.

He's mingled with local brokers and give you wrong info and loot money.

Had a good experience of boat stay for a night, had good food for lunch dinner and breakfast.

Not worth for money. It's over rated. Room is full of cockroaches. Not at all hygienic. 18k per night for 3 rooms in a boathouse is way much costlier for this kind of unhygienic room.

Not maintained at all. Please check the boat before booking. If this is what you get for a premium houseboat then better stay at a hotel.

Not worth the experience at all. 12 pm check in and 9 am check out. The house boats were dirty. Didn't seem to have been cleaned for months. Rooms were filled with cobwebs. We actually had to ask them to sweep the room as soon as we arrived. Bathrooms are dirtier. Only cold water is available and the water in the taps is dirty. Depending on the option you choose, use of AC could be restricted. They take you around the river on day 1 till 5: 30 pm and then dock at the start point overnight. Next day they take you on another round of the lake at 8 am and drop off at 9 am. Food served is decent home cooked. TV was there but wasn't working. When docked there were a lot of huge mosquitoes. Staff don't seem to be helpful or empowered.

It was a great. I really loved the boating experience and the staff was also great and they had timely food and drinks facilities on the voyage

Dirty rooms and leaking roof. AC was not functioning in one of the rooms and rain water was dripping in one of the rooms in the middle of the night. We had to wait past 10: 30pm for the dinner to be ready and kids slept without food. Very very bad experience.

It was a Great Trip with Family Member's as Our Vacation Trip, We All Enjoyed the Ride and loved it, The Day was Pleasant and we loved the Alleppey Lake Drive in of 6 Hours from 11.30a.m to 5.30p.m with lots of Fun and Tasty Food Served by the Lakeland Cruises Boat Service of Non-vegetarian food.

The boat we had was deluxe A/c.don't get mistaken, deluxe is the lowest in terms of the luxury. We had a below-standard boat with disfunctioning A/C, low cleanliness and very dirty bathrooms. A/C was only allowed to be used between 9PM -6AM and the temperature never went below 29C. We will not choose this boat agency next time. There are many other better ones. Not value for money. Only positive was that two people on board did their best to serve.

Staying overnight can seem like a hassle as it is parked at a place which is very untidy.so you have mosquitos for company. But the ride in the evening and early morning was worth it. The crew was very accommodating.

It was very bad experience staying at their house boat for a night stay, smelly and unhygienic rooms, unhygienic toilets, untidy towels, not good food.

First time I was trying the House boat and it's (lakeland cruise) a best option we have choosen.

Its a great experience, it's located in main area and easily accessible.

Parking facility is also available.
Food and the Boat ride was great.

Also the rate is less when compared to other house boats.

Around 5.30pm the boat will be stopped and Nearby Alappuzha beach is there evening time we can go and spend some time there.

Went for a day trip with Lakeland cruises in Alleppey with 5 pax.
It is located near the bridge and is easily accessible by car.
The cruise was well maintained with decent rooms and working equipments.
Meals were traditional and included both veg and non veg.
The only downside was the quantity served was less for 5 people and it could have been better.
Weather was good as we visited in January.
The view on the lake is truly mesmerising.
Would love to visit again.

This boat service was just brilliant man! The view was amazing. The food was cooked in front of us, looked delicious and was delicious. Rooms were clean and washroom too. The staff was also friendly!

Worst vacation ever-across all of our vacations over last couple of decades. The houseboat and its experience are far worse than living in a slum in Dharavi, Mumbai. Food was horrible, with absolutely zero quality control. We all suffered from acute food poisoning, spoiling the rest of our vacation. Stay away.

Really a good experience but giving my honest opinion. You can have a better menu and whatever is served please make sure that it is satisfying the guest. We were served tea and coffee twice in the trip but taste sucked when asked the cook was like we are running out of resources, this dialogue did not end here it was repeated throughout the journey and about the air conditioner was not working half the time. Please ensure that you serve a better food and don't make the customer spend a extra penny after boarding cause that will degrade your quality in service.

Best Houseboat experience. Food was so delicious that even now I am have that aftertaste it is so damn best

If you are visiting Alleppey you must go for Back waters Boating. You have different kinds of boats according to your budget. You also have a option of day cruise or 1 night stay in House boat. You will enjoy the experience and House boat staff are very humble and they cook food according to your taste (need to give prior notice for specific menu).

You can reach here by public transportation and obviously by Cab. There is an ample space for waiting too.

Oh very fine boat house. We can enjoy very nice atmosphere nature's beauty good lovely food will be served with nice smiling face staff.

Had a great day cruise on the houseboat they provided. The food was wonderful and the tour was organized by Grass root holidays Ernakulam. Cruise started from Pallathuruthy and went up to 5 pm.

Good things first
1. The backwaters are amazing.
2. The ride they take through the waters are lifetime worth of drooling picturesque moments.
3. Food is tasty
Not so good things
1. For the money we paid for premium boat, there is nothing premium about. You are allowed AC for 24hrs.
2. The boat itself has old rickety dusty furniture, unironed tapestry and bedsheets gives you a feeling that you have entered an old house.no opulence.
3. Choice of food is limited, we agreed to the terms.no complaints. But didn't expect QUANTITY to be limited. 6 fish for 6 people.we laughed!
4. Our verdict 5 stars for backwaters and 3 stars for the boat.average 4

The workers who accompany us in the boat are rude and using harrassing words for mistakes they will make. They will make you stressed.

My 2nd trip with Lakelands. Enjoyed a lot. Expirienced backwaters at its best. Superb food and friendly staff.

Not worth spending money.we went for a premium booking though upper rooms were not clean.they stay at their office only at night so lot of other boats surrounding you n lot of noise, no privacy at all.i wont suggest to stay for night else the ride is just awesome.and dont go for buying a fish in the lake it is a lot costlier.

Food is total disaster, If your tour operator going with Lakelands then must ask for proper food or change it.
Houseboat is OK but staff is not supporting and not professional.

Better to Avoid it.

I am not talking about this company in particular but any houseboat experience in general as all houseboats are more or less same.

(1) Food quality is very bad (specially for veg)

(2) Very Very High priced (facilities and experience point of view.). In this price range, one can book a 5 star resort in Alleppey and have much more greater experience.

(2) After 05: 30 pm they dont sail so if by mistake your room door or window is open, there will be lot of insects in the room

(3) Becomes very boring as time passes as there is no any other activity.

But still if you are so eager to have this experience, take care of the following points

(1) Book houseboat with 24 hour AC access as its really hot in the day time during summer and monsoon

(2) Don’t book for full day. Just take 5 to 6 hours package. (I will recommend not to book at all to my friends and family)

(3) Dont forget to close your Rooms’s window and door when you are not in

Unsatisfied. Was very boring. Food was not good. No entertainment. AC and fan was not working. Not worth spending 24 hours package. Better for 5 to 6 hours till evening.

Best house boat tourist Agency@alappy. They own 15 luxurious house boats. The provide their own waiting rooms and food.

Since I had used a local boat last time.this experience was completely different and I enjoyed every minute of the stay. They are professional from the word go. No delays anywhere. We drift, dock for lunch and start again. Dock again for buying fish and stopover at around 5 pm. It does get boring after a while. But if you are one to enjoy the peace and quiet and the changing faces of all round you.the sky, water, sun.then it beats boredom. Morning after is only 15 mins away from where we started.

Food was amazing. Room closest to the engine smells of fumes. And one piece of advice - choose a boat with an enclosed sitting area. That saves you a lot of trouble with insects and also heat during summer.

Though you can't make major modifications to the menu, they accommodated my request for another variety of rice and also provided food for the children early.

Heavy place to visit. Good customer services. Good food. Good boat. But if we want AC we should use special permission.

Nice to ride but not to stay at night in house boat. We been there in March 2016. Overall Kerla experience awesome can't express in words. House boats in backwater is really nice concept. But risks are there if you want to stay. It is better to wait for 3-4 hours at noon. Basically, people try to cheat here in terms of asking buy fish, at high cost and really not very testy. Try to ask you to buy massage again costly and they try to get commission on that. And to stay in house boat is very idea. It is stinky. Another issue is of security and safety.

We took one night house board from Lakelands Cruise and very much satisfied with the services it has provided. This company has got about 19 house boats of different sizes varying from 2 to 10 rooms. Check-in was smooth and the lady officer was polite and helping. However, language was an issue. Staff on board were courteous, soft spoken and ready to provide requisite information. Lakelands Cruise has ample parking space. We are totally satisfied and would like to board again. Till such time, good by. Thanks for life time memory. Food served on board was reasonably good. Every bit of information was provided in writing. Both Room and Toilets were small but neat and clean. Overall nothing to complaint but compliments for a well managed night stay.
