Mad about Coco

We were a group of friends and we had 3 rooms for 3 nights. The staff was very attentive and the rooms were clean. However, there were some small details which could be improved such as adding a mirror in the room, a shower curtain or a tool which allows you to dry the bathroom after having a shower. The internet in the rooms was also not working, so if you're planning to stay here and work remote, it's not your place. We had breakfast included in a lovely place nearby called "Sun Francisco". Breakfast was delicious, it had some Indian as well as western options. Overall the hotel was nice, however; considering other places we stayed, we don't think it's good value for money. They also offer drop-in yoga sessions. However, no teacher dropped-in at the session which was supposed to take place at 08: 30. If you're planning to take a yoga session, better confirm with the staff twice before waking up early on purpose for that.

There is no room service available here, but water is provided throughout our stay for free everyday.

We stayed at Mad about Coco for two nights and had a great experience. Short distance from beach and shops, and had everything we needed. The highlight was the amazing staff that went above and beyond to help us have a fun and relaxing time. Great restaurant and good coffee!

Customer service as well as treating staff members is really incredible. Food, rooms as well as overall ambiance is great for a fine vacation

Great stay! Rooms are nothing fancy but has everything basic available which was good enough for me.
Best part - A 1 min walk away from the North cliff. Lots of Restaurants near by.

We stayed in hotel on 22nd of june. Staff was very friendly. I forgot to ask the name of Receptionist but very helpful guy, fluent in Hindi, English & Malyalam. He even gave us upgraded room on account of my birthday.
Mr. Vinod from Jammu, another staff was very courteous too.

Place has laid back vibe which goes with vibe of varkala.
But the rooms were absolutley not good. It had damp, even when i got upgraded room.

Other than that i loved the locationb, espcially there restaurant which is aprox 100 meters away from hotel but has marvelous sea views.

Food was very tasty. Wifi was good.
I would visit again.

1.very bad service.no botheration, they won't care recently I was a guest and they only followed up for collection of room rent, 2. Rooms are very bad, no Mirror, doors are not property lock, cleanings are lacking, no power back up, when enquired very rudely they answer. They should understand they run by customers. Reception won't even talk unless u approach them.
There us lot if other properties in and around beach where u will get service and very good pricing too. Mad About coco charges highest price, gives wrost facilities abd services.i recommend think before booking with them bcz I suffered by selecting they made us MAD

Very close to the cliff, nice and quite place with clean facilities.
Not sure if it value for money as it is quite pricy for the facilities provided, can't complain much as all the properties in Varkala are equally expensive.

It's located on the cliff so it's so easy to access the cliff area, the beach and nearby cafes/shops etc. Very close to varkala railway station. The rooms are not so great though. The A/c was barely running in the room and non-A/c rooms were just adequate for staying. Their free breakfast option can be availed in the sun francisco cafe (probably their own) and they had a separate menu for the free breakfast, which was okayish. If you are not worried about the quality of the room but only the location/accessibility then you can go for this.

We had one bad experience here which spoiled our amazing kerela trip where the AC was not working even after complaining, the manager did not bother much to help us with another option. Plus when we checked in, we were asked to take the luggage on our own to first floor after tiresome journey. Overall the service was not good but room was clean and tidy.

Very bad service! Hotel people charged additional for Air condition room and AC is not working. No one is there to attend your luggage, you have to take your luggage to your room by yourself. Parking is very far and it was very difficult to take our luggage. They charged us 300₹ for breakfast per person and now they are just providing with vouchers of some restaurant and not giving any breakfast or refunding that money back. We wasted almost 2 hours in check in after a long journey still not satisfied.worst experience in our entire Kerala trip.

Good location, suberb breakfast! Also have dinner it that restaurant (Sun Fransisco) as the food and staff is amazing!
We came for 1 night and stayed for 3. Clean, spacious rooms and very kind staff.

Beautiful place, right behind the beach. Good team there. Dogs are v friendly. Nice breakfast.

Perfectly located between a tiny road and the cliff it is a very nice place with basic but very clean and comfortable rooms. The staff is great, very kind, attentive and helpful with everything. Just a few steps away you reach the cliff, bars, and the beach quickly.
So nothing to complain about location, room and service.
Only negative point: although the dogs are very kind, cute, and friendly it sometimes can get very noisy at night due to barking.
Nevertheless, we had a really nice stay.

Comfortable, peaceful, uninterrupted. Would love to stay there again. Would have given 5 stars but we had two suggestions.
1. If only they vould install a mirror in the bedroom.
2. If the non ac 1st floor rooms had one extra doormat, or it got really sandy.
Everything else has been perfect. Happy staffs, happy doggos at the cafe. All along, had been a commendable retreat.

Absolutely lovely place wit amazing staff and an owner who really goes above and beyond to make your trip unforgettable. The rooms are basic, but definitely enough and exactly as advertised. The breakfast was great (exceptional coffee).
Highlight for us was that Anita, the owner, helped us plan and organise the rest of our trip in Kerala. She organised an exceptional driver (this is Nias, her driver - he is an absolute gem. I usually get travel sick, but he drives so well and safely that we had no problems) and let us hire her car for an entire week. Absolute transparent and fair price (we checked around) and super uncomplicated. Thank you again for all your help - we can't recommend Mad about Coco and the lovely people who work there enough!

We were happy with our stay with Anitha and her very nice team. So nice we got to see the opening of the restaurant Sun Fransisco also. Had yoga on the roof top which was convenient and good.

Simply awesome, the peaceful atmosphere, service, music, food and the vibe too. They provide delicious food. They even provided pillows to keep our baby on the bench. Loved everything they have

Please don't choose this resort.
There's no electricity when we checked in.
When we asked for hot water for bathing they said Solar panel is not working.
Restaurant closes at 6PM.
No Room service

Literally the coolest place to stay in varkala, smooth check in, really clean rooms and bathrooms, the ambience is exceptional, the host anita is a very good person

The stay was very awful. The room is much smaller than the pictures suggest. On entering, there was a weird smell. The host and manager are incredibly unhelpful and hostile. When we requested them to keep 3 beer cans in their fridge, not only did they flatly refuse, we were also told that we might land up in jail for drinking beer outside of a bar. She seemed to be threatening us, even though her claims were false. When we found a lizard in the room, the host told us that we should be used to lizards because we are indians. She called us around midnight to take pictures of our IDs.

To top things off, the host's dog bit one of us. Far from apologising, she seemed to be least concerned about the matter.

We have been to many Airbnbs but this was by far the worst experience we have ever had. So awful was the stay that we left after only one night despite losing a significant amount of money.

Lovely hostel run by lovely people. Rooms are as expected for the price range but totally adequate. Best part was the service. The staff were so helpful in arranging taxis, surf lessons, yoga classes, packaging mail to send home and massage sessions. Even giving us a drying rack so we could do our laundry.

Location is perfect, one minute from the cliff. As well as a nearby restaurant run by the same people which was very good.

Highly recommend, give them a call and talk about rates if you're planning to stay in Varkala.

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was very delicious & yoga classes were amazing. I highly recommend this Mad about Coco for anyone visiting varkala.

Value for money, no complains about the price. The breakfast is very good and the location is perfect. Book this place if you are on a budget travel and expect to spend more time sightseeing but if you are looking for more basic amenities and luxury please choose another property. Do not expect a hotel like accommodation or service. The overall vibes are good and the stay was pleasant.

It is a wonderful space with great ambience alongside the beach. The rooms were clean and comfy. The services were great. The people were very sweet and kind.

This place has a very special place in my heart. It was my first all-girls trip and damn this entire place felt home. The stay was just amazing. There are dogs and cats and the outdoor ambiance is wow. Attached to it is a lovely cafe with a gorgeous sea view and a cliff. Thumbs up to the host!

Booked for two weeks, stayed for two months! Enough said, right?
Location is fantastic, restaurant adjoined also fantastic. Everything you need is here, clean and comfortable rooms for a very reasonable price.

Anita, Samuel and team will go out of their way to help you with whatever you need.

The place was so calm with boho ambience and with an easy access to the cliff. The manager is gem of a person. Really enjoyed the stay.

Wonderful place to stay in the North cliff. This place is so calming, remote and beautiful. It is looked after pretty well and the ambience is just as pleasant as it can be.

The beach is literally just a minute's walk from the resort. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops nearby.

Overall my experience here at Mad about Coco net all my expectations and it was nothing but perfect.

I would recommend solo and couple stays here rather than with friends.

The ambience of the hotel was well complimented along with the beach. This place is very suitable for working remotely, helps to clear all the stress. Calm area with cute dogs? Ease access to cliff and beach. Clean and comfy rooms with total privacy. Highly recommended for both friends and families.

Nice hotel with all facilities. Hope soon they will add housekeeping service. Feel like home. Loved the clean and huge bathroom. Very helpful persons. They also have a wonderful restaurant. I would suggest not to take the complimentary breakfast rather order n eat.

Nice place to stay. Really liked the host and the vibe. The architecture and ambience was nice. Hot water was not available, that was the only drawback that I felt. It's a good place to stay when you are visiting varkala
