As I was too tired to roam around the garden, which I really missed went on rope cable, a boon for those people who couldn't walk, and I felt nervous first but later enjoyed the scenic beauty of malambuzham. Will visit once again for sure

This beautiful dam located near the border of Tamilnadu and Kerala amidst the western ghats with lush greenery and scenic location. The road way heading towards the dam will green shades on both sides. Ideal place for friends and family for the peaceful time.

Dam, amusement park, rock garden and ropeway. Around the reservoir of the dam are gardens and amusement parks. Boating facilities are available on the lake. Malampuzha Yakshi, Hanging bridge. Memory Pillar inside the garden

Great place to spend a vacation evening. Entry for adults @Rs. 30/-. A walk on the dam top offers beautiful views. The expansive gardens are good, but lacking in maintenance and cleanliness. The ropeway through the gardens is a good experience. One can also walk over the narrow hanging bridges. A well stocked Milma parlour is also there for tea and snacks and ice creams.

Beautiful place to visit, the landscape architecture view from dam top is insane. Even though the place fells like abandoned during non seasonal time its a must visit place in Palakkad.
There is a lot of activities available here like boating, rop way, parks, garden, ect. There is also a snake park and aquarium.

One of best tourist spot in Palakkad where we can spend 2-4 hours. Dam, Garden, Hanging bridge, boat service, rope way and many more attractions. Location is well maintained without any waste and proper waste disposal areas, drink water kiosk etc. From Palakkad/ Dam regularly buses are available (Rs: 20)
Suggestion: Should have some annual maintenance including painting work. Should have some good restaurants nearby.

Malampuzha Dam, set overlooking the scenic hills of Western Ghats is the largest reservoir in Kerala, located near Palakkad in Kerala state in Southern India. The dam is straight gravity type, with combination of a masonry dam of 1,849 meters length and earthen dam of 220 meters length.
There are many attractions within the dam premises. The main attraction is the dam itself, you can climb to the top and enjoy the views of the garden in front and the massive Western Ghat Mountains behind. Once on top, it is difficult not to admire the massive volume of water stopped by man. The garden with the massive statue of Yakshi, cable car ride, fish shaped Aquarium, Rock Garden, boating are some of the additional attractions in the premises.

One of the must visit places in Palakkad. Road is very good, just follow the map to reach here. There is ample parking space and the charges are minimal. The queue at entrance will be small.

This is not the entry to ropeway and it can be accessed from outside only. Once you exit from the dam premise you will have to ticket again to enter. I tried ropeway before entering dam.

There is ample space in the garden. Snacks can be bought inside the premise. Restrooms are available at the entrance. This is a crowded area. Its defined worth visiting. It will be very hot during summer and carrying an umbrella will be good.

Beautiful place to spent time with friends and family. Night view from the dam to the garden is exhilarating and amazing ️ The lights from the garden and the shades of hills on the background make it extra beautiful.

It is nice place for family outing and a good picinic spot. There is an entry fees of rupees 30 per adult. We went there yesterday and the looks the garden needs a thorough renovation. The rope way entrance is from outside. Once you reach the top of the dam, the view of the water is beautiful.

Malampuzha dam is very nice and lovely to watch the scenery from the top of the dam. The garden is maintained so well not only in the cleanliness manner but also in gardening works. Children play are is also very nice. Good place to spend time with families.

Only fair to rate both the Dam and Garden together. If only they better implemented the ban on usage of plastic inside the premise, this would have been a really awesome place. I hope they do something about it.
The rope way ride was cheaper than expected, and probably the only thing maintained well in the entire place. But the way the whole layout is planned for the tourists is really bad and confusing to say the least. One would assume there's some sort of entry to the ropeway area from the Gardens/Dam, but nope. You've to exit, and walk a long way to get to the ropeway entrance. So much more to complain, but calling it a day for now. Will definitely visit again sometime later and see if things have changed.

Just a spot to spend the evening. Lot of parking space available at 15rs. Ticket costs 30 for adults and 10 for kids. Has a large kids play area. Rope way wasn’t running when I went now. I have been to it as a kid and being open its scary and interesting.

There is a suspension bridge and boating to enjoy. Boating closes at 6PM and costs about 450 for motor boat.

Like the park, the toilet isn’t maintained either. They take 5rs which hope they will ise to clean the toilet at least once in a while.

The dam is used only for water resourse in different villages for farming and utilities. There is no energy production here. The nearby forest area is parambikulam wildlife sanctury. The best time to enter here is only after 5 pm every day or except summer.there is alot to walk inside the dam area. Nice place for photography. Should keep an umbrellah during hot days.

Nothing special. Waste.just a garden for kids. If they left it with trees instead cutting it to build a garden it would have been scenic

Malampuzha gardens, located in the lower hills of the Western Ghats, are the only rock-cut gardens in South India. The entire garden is made from broken pieces of bangles, tiles, used plastic cans, tins and other waste materials. Flowering beds, fountains, Rose gardens, an aerial ropeway, and picnic spots add to the allure of Malampuzha. The famed Malampuzha Yakshi built in 1969 by Kanayi Kunhiraman is also in the gardens. ️️️️️

A beautiful place to have a good time with your family. They have a ropeway cable car, gardens, sculptures, restaurants, shops, ample parking, swimming pool, ponds, and even an amphitheatre.
But the swimming pool, some buildings and all were not well maintained probably cos of the covid situation and also there were not enough waste bins and thus littering was seen. It's a really good place in palakkad and must visit and hope the authorities will keep it well maintained.

A nice place to visit walking on the the top of dam is very nice experience and cable car is available a paid swimming pool is also available

Entrance Garden, Yakshi Garden, Japanese Garden, Upper Garden and viewpoint, Cable car ride, Swimming pool, Boating, Fish shaped aquarium and Toy train for kids are the main attractions here.
Nearest railway station: Palakkad Junction - 7 km, Palakkad Town - 8 km.

Have been here multiple times. Wonderful place but the maintenance is not being done properly.

Has a nice ropeway which you can enjoy with kids to see a full picture of the dam from above. Take a ride and relax.

Poor maintenance

Even the board with the dam's name on it has been destroyed. Many of the decorative lights that were there were not working. I saw something like a monument to a musical fountain that once existed

I can just say this place is okay. It is not heartening to see dry gardens and bad smell when you expect the place to be as before. Couldnt enjoy much but one place was a sight - when the dam shutters were open and waters out. Okay okay place to spend evening

Had a great time with my friends, wonderful place to visit and we spent a whole day there, people over there were very sweet and helpful. Very happy to be there enjoyed every minute.

Malampuzha dam is the largest reservoir in Kerala. Located near Palakkad. Top of the Malampuzha dam point gives total view of the area. The main attraction in Malampuzha dam the vire pont, Entrance garden, cable car, Aquarium. A wonderful place for spending one day with family and friends.

A Nice & Quite Place To Spend Some Time With Your Family. Best Seasons (Aug - Oct) To Visit Is After Rainy Season When The Dam's Shutter's Are Opened.

Malampuzha Dam, a good one, went here about 9 years ago. At the time, it was a tourist destination, but now things have changed. There is a good gurden here, a good view, and you can take good pictures with the eyes of the camera as you go there. A place I love. Travel lovers should go here.

Good place for a family picinic. Great weather at the August month. Other attractions include the snake park, fish aquarium and cable car drive. Suspension bridge and yakshi statue are other attractions too

It is a beautiful dam.it is the biggest dam in kerala. Children's park is an another attraction of this day it is really beautiful. Near by the dam there is snake park. There is variety of snakes in this snake park over all it is a beauty full place to vist

Besides the garden is beautiful with a lot OG places to spend time and it is well maintained.
Rock garden and the fantasy theme park are also the attractive places here.

Very nice place. Big Kids Park area with lot of fun activities. Rope car is very nice and thrilling and cheap too. Food not allowed to eat inside the dam. Food court is there. Wash room facilities is available in lot of places.

Malampuzha Garden is located in Malampuzha Township which is located near Palakkad in God's Own Country, Kerala. It is situated in the foothills of the Western Ghats of India near the Malampuzha Dam reservoir which is built on River Malampuzha, the tributary of River Bharatapuzha, Kerala's largest river. The landscaped garden is a perfect picnic spot for tourists. The scenic beauty of the garden on the banks of the reservoir is a treat to the eyes. The garden occupies a huge expanse of land on the foothills of the Ghat. The well-maintained park consists of flower beds, tall trees, stretches of well-maintained grasslands, artificial water bodies.

It is always my best place. Green and beautiful after the rainy season. Must go with family when you have kids to play in grass. The dam top view is simply superb. The cable car ride may cost around 80 per head. Two can ride together. When the dam shutter is opened, the cable car ride is awesome.

As it is located in God's own country, it is surrounded with mountains and lot of green. Worth to spend a day here as it has the following attractions - Aquarium, Rope car, Children's park, Swimming pool, Snake park

Malampuzha Gardens, the only rock-cut gardens in South India made by Nek Chand, the renowned artist and winner of the prestigious Padmashree Award, is situated in Palakkad district. Also situated in the gardens is the massive Malampuzha Yakshi (female vampire) built in 1969

Malampuzha Dam, under Irrigation department is a good location for family and friends tours, vacations, have facilities like children park and ropway, boat ride etc. And main attraction one and only Malampuzha Yakshy by Kanayi kunjiraman, and have facilities for food.

If you want to experience the rope way, boating and the hanging bridge, this is the best place in Palakkad to hang around with friends or family. Also a great place for one day picnic.

It's a beautiful place but poorly managed. They could have upgraded the facilities with a PPP model and I am sure it will be a destination itself.
Please note that Monday is the worst day to be here, as many facilities don't operate in this day

Great place for sight seeing and enjoying beautiful garden. The main attraction is the massive dam structure. But not suitable in summer as sun is too harsh. Overall a good place to relax.

Malampuzha Garden -This place is around 15km from Palakkad Town. As the name suggests this place is famous for its very big garden. The main attraction here is the Rope Way that's one of kind. It takes Twenty minutes for the whole journey where you can experience the whole of Malampuzha Garden. This place also has a very beautiful dam which attracts tourists. This garden also has a wide variety of plants and flowers. Snake Park which has many poisonous and non poisoning snakes, even the King Cobra is something that needs to experienced.

My childhood tour destination. From my primary school every year they were going malampuzha. Now have beautiful garden. Otherwise all are same as before. I like the place very much. First time I saw the photo gallery. That was a excellent experience for me. Because there have the history photos of malampuzha dam site. And the construction photos and inaguration ceremony. Especially the name of martyrs who lost their life in the construction time.

Here you can see beautifully arranged garden. Garden itself is the main attraction of this garden. Other attractions are Kanam's Yekshi statue, Hanging walking bridge, Dam itself and water fall if shutter is opened, children park, boat savary, etc. I enjoyed all these except children park.
Those who want can uss rope way also.

Yakshi, a 30-foot tall nude statue which has been one of the biggest tourists attractions in Kerala's Palakkad District is getting a makeover, 50 years after it was installed. The Yakshi statue is located in Malampuzha Gardens, near the Malampuzha Dam, one of the well known tourist spots in the area. The statue of the demigoddess, depicts her in a voluptuous posture with her hair unlocked and legs stretching forward with eyes half-opened. The iconic statue which has now become synonymous with Malampuzha was sculpted by legendary sculpture Kanayi Kunhiraman in the year 1969.

The dam project was begun in 1949 and completed in 1955.foundation stone for the project was laid on 27 March 1949, by the then Public Works Minister of Madras State, Sri M. Bhaktavatsalam as Palakkad was a part of the Madras Presidency during those times. The dam was constructed in record time, and on October 9,1955, the then Chief Minister of Tamilnadu, Sri. K Kamaraj, inaugurated the dam. The total catchments area is 145 square kilometres, while the reservoir has a capacity of 8000 cubic meters of water. The canal systems serve to irrigate farm land while the reservoir provides drinking water to Palakkad and surrounding villages. The dam was constructed by Tamilnadu government but later the dam and Palakkad district belongs to Kerala state.
