Marari Sea Lap Beach Villas

We spent 5 nights at the Sea Lap and could have stayed much longer! The property has a pretty garden and is perfectly situated beachfront with lounge chairs and hammocks. The owner Anoop and his family took perfect care of us during our stay. They have a restaurant onsite where you eat with your feet in the sand and can eat your dinner under the stars. At our request they even cooked delicious local Kerala food for us! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort and friendly hospitality at a great value.

The location that Gmaps will direct u is wrong as there is no such road.
Put your location to Marari Praise Homestay and road ends there.and you have to park the car there and walk south 150 metres.

Cant get a closer stay than this to the beach.

Cons:
Please change transparent window curtains as it affects privacy.
The water is salty and yellowish as expected due to proximity with sea.
Wont be able to see the sea as the sea is not visible directly from room. Only the sand can be seen as the sea is like in a depression, so that u have to walk 60 metres infront and see the water.

Those who already have their homes in villages of Kerala, wont feel anything special as was the case with me. Appam and Egg curry in the morning were served like being served in home by mother which would captivate those who come from outside the State.

Location is one of the best.

Rooms are just okay.
AC is not very good.
Pricing is a bit high.
Solar hot water is fitted, so no hot water by night.
Cleanliness is barely passable.

Host Mr. Anoop is very good but he is the only one. Need more caretakers here and since the property is a bit isolated, there must be 24h security here.
Food orders were done from a restaurant and they arrived 2 hours late. Food was also just okay.

The USP is it is very close to the beach. Beach is just 100 meters from the property. Family rooms are big enough. The water available in the bathrooms are cloggy and salty. Parking is a problem. Since it's so close to the beach, you cannot drive your cars to the spot. My car was out in the open during the day and at night moved to a safer location. You will definitely enjoy the proximity to the beach.

Great location, property is just on the beach, you can hear the sound of waves. There is no car parking in the property, you have to walk 100 meters after parking your car nearby. Food is great, rooms are clean. You can sit on the beach and have food if you want since they are having a small dining area on the beach. Beach is not that crowded but you can see few people in the evening

This place is really paradise the location is top, surrounded by lush green coconut trees, directly on the private marari beach with direct access to the sea. Initially I booked it for 3 days but I ended up staying 6 more days, I felt like at home. Anoop and his family treated me like a family member. The food was always home cooked and fresh. Their hospitality is world-class. The owner Anoop is very kind and friendly and available for 24 hours for your needs. Don't expect luxury but trust me the place is amazing. I will visit again. Nous avons passé un séjour incroyable, une immersion complète hors du temps dans la culture Indienne au seins d'une famille d'une gentillesse exceptionnel.

Des moments inoubliables et une cuisine excellente.

Les chambres sont parfaites, avec un accès direct sur la plage et une vue sur l'océan. Les hamacs suspendu aux cocotier et les transats offre un cadre idyllique pour se reposer et se ressourcer.

En fin d'après midi et au levé du soleil on peux voir les pêcheurs partir sur leur petite embarcation, une activité local réalisé encore dans la culture de la tradition.

Quel plaisir de se lever de bonne heure pour se rendre sur le marché au poisson ou arrive la pêche fraîche du jour ou encore de profiter de la fraîcheur de fin d'après midi pour se rendre à Marari jonction et manger une glace ou boire un bon jus pressé.

Vous trouverez tout ce dont vous avez besoin autour de Sea Lap, de plus Anoop et ses frères Adin et Abilash connaissent tout le monde, besoin d'un massage, d'une bonne adresse pour manger au restaurant, d'un touktouk, d'un taxi ou que sais-je encore, posez leur la question ils seront de très bon conseil.

What to say about Marari Sea Lap and where to start.

We had an incredible stay, a complete timeless immersion in Indian culture within a family of exceptional kindness.

Unforgettable moments and excellent cuisine.

The rooms are perfect, with direct access to the beach and a view of the ocean. The hammocks suspended from the coconut palms and the deckchairs offer an idyllic setting for resting and recharging your batteries.

At the end of the afternoon and at sunrise you can see the fishermen leaving on their small boat, a local activity still carried out in the culture of tradition.

What a pleasure to get up early to go to the fish market where the fresh catch of the day arrives or to take advantage of the coolness of the late afternoon to go to Marari junction and eat an ice cream or drink a good squeezed juice.

You will find everything you need around Sea Lap, plus Anoop and his brothers Adin and Abilash know everyone, need a massage, a good place to eat in a restaurant, a touktouk, a taxi or whatever, ask them the question they will be very good advice.

You come to have a good time, you think you will find friends and you leave with a new family.

Have been there with my friends for vacation. Firstly, it is a unique spot with very low local people counting and higher foreigners.
The waves have been in a full swing, and it is a perfect spot for hangouts and enjoying a sunny beach day.
Some areas are under private for foreign visitors, so if you want to visit those places, you need their permission.
Overall, it's the best place for evening hangouts.

The location of this homestay is its biggest plus.
Anoop has developed the property very beautifully and he maintains it well.

Right in the room, you can hear the sea waves. The view from the porch is breathtaking. Small garden then small patch of coconut trees and sea in the horizon.

Unlike other homestays in this area, Sea Lap Villas don't have boats blocking your view.

While staying here be prepared for

1. Amazing hospitality by Johnson. He will be your go to guy for all requests.
2. Yummy food by Sibin. He is the chef and he knows what he is doing. Only make sure that you order well in advance as he will need to get the ingredients and start from scratch. (We ordered his white sauce pasta and all varieties of lemonades multiple times)
3. Walk a little till you get drivable road. The property is only approachable if you have an all terrain vehicle else, it's a three minutes walk on the sand

All in all, our stay here was nothing less than heavenly. Do see the pictures, you will know what I mean

A wonderful place to spend a quiet holiday by the sea. All the staff were very polite and pleasant. I felt like family. The location is excellent.

Sea lap is in a very good location and the garden is very beautiful and full with hammocks and things to relax. We have stayed in marari for 2 weeks and stayed in other home stays that were better at the same price.

The owners will also help you with taxis, a table
Or other things you might need. We worked from there, wifi is okays but we had to rely a lot of our own data. So keep that in mind
They play around with room prices so you might be paying less or more depend on how good you are at bargain.

Rooms could be better, at least mosquito nets on the bathroom.

Food at the restaurant is very nice, quite the best from what you find on the beach buuuuut at least from 1h to 2h you will have to wait. Breakfast takes less time but you will be also wait.

The families English isn’t the best so there is a lot of miss communication. If you are lucky and their niece there she is the best. Her English is next level also her hospitality

Overall if you expectations aren’t high it isn’t a bad place to stay but I must say there are better places around.

Not very clean. Thank God the cook was on leave. Checked menu card. Frightfully expensive. Don't expect the comfort of staying in a regular hotel

The best homestay we have come across around this part of Kerala. The hosts are so amazing that it becomes difficult to leave them and depart after a few days. Proximity to the beach appears quite tailor-made and couldn't have been better. The beach is very clean and never gets crowded.
The host, Anoop, and family truly deserve a special mention. We have begun considering them our own relatives after spending a few days/nights at Sealap. The chef, Sebin, and the rest of the staff are fabulous too.
Overall, a must visit if one may prefer true homestay experiences over those provided by resorts and hotels.

Great 6 day stay, stunning view of ocean and green palm tree backdrop. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean. Service personal and very friendly. Beautiful, authentic building with 5 spacious and very clean rooms. Food by chef of the house was excellent. We did not feel the need to search for another place to eat. We would come back any time if we are in need of some serious chill time

Stayed for one day and had wonderful experience. It's very near to Marari Beach. They hav butterfly garden, badminton court etc to keep you entertained.)

Location is great with possibly the best proximity to the sea! Very peaceful and serene esp if you are planning to relax and unwind on the beach. They have 2 types of rooms with all rooms facing the sea - the one we stayed in was small and basic. I have rated 2 stars for the room as it was small for us (with a small kid and baby) with not much space for unpacking our suitcases. Also we did not have running hot water. If you are traveling with family, take the bigger rooms even though they say it is for larger groups. Hosts are good and friendly. They help you with hot water, and food/ tea when you need. They also help you with carrying the luggage as the place is on the beach and about 200 metres from the road. Limited veg options, so if you are a vegetarian, you will have to explore places outside for more options. Overall, if you are a non fussy traveler and are getting the rooms at a good deal, then this place is definitely worth a pick!

One of the best location in Marari Beach. Great & friendly staff service, tasty food, lovely picturesque location. Very relaxing, Home made food, Its on the beach and Beach is v clean too.

Though rooms were very normal, location beats everything-right in front the beach in junction with backwaters tasty homemade food, staffs were so welcoming. Thank you Jose for your excellent hospitality!

It was really good experience, and very close to the beach, stay with a rythamatic sound of sea. Mr. Anoop is a very friendly house owner. Beach is like a private beach, no outsiders were there. Had a good time with family and friends.

The location is amazing - you can see the waves rolling while sipping tea on the veranda. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The ambience with the lights and the hammock at night makes it very relaxing. Anoop was a gracious host and we felt very welcome at their home. We also had the opportunity to see them haul in the catch of the day and they made for us tasty crab curry. Thank you Sindhu chechi for the amazing food.

Right in the Beach. Very supporting staff. But need to take all food and drinks while going. No food service. As it is beach, car to be stopped on the side road, then walk to beach resort.
