Fantastic experience. It was so lovely to meet Maria alongside her husband George. I felt very welcome in their home, and learnt so much about the key principles of South Indian cooking. Overall, it was one of the top highlights of my trip through India and I would recommend it to family and friends in a heartbeat.
Maria taught us how to make some wonderful vegetarian dishes, and we learned a lot about the use of different Indian ingredients! Very good teacher, and her husband George is very nice too!
Maria and George are super friendly hosts and she provides very good insights into the use of spices, why and when and in combination with which other foods. She thought us 5 dishes which were super nice!
With my girlfriend we spent a really good time, learning and cooking vegetarian food from the south of India. Maria knows a lot about all the ingredients, and she explained many things to us.
And at the end, obviously, we loved our meals Proud of us
Thank you again Maria, we'll try to do the same in France!
It was such an amazing experience. Maria is a great teacher and a wonderful time. She took a lot of time to explain us all procedures and how to prepare the food.
Maria was a wonderful teacher and the most incredible cook. I am traveling alone as a 22-year-old and took the class by myself. I had a great experience learning about the local food and enjoying my time with Maria and her husband George.
Wead a great team at Maria's cooking class. She did such a great job of teaching us the basic method of any curry. The order in which to do the steps and the different spice quantities for vegetables or meats. We enjoyed making a delicious Keralan fish curry, chicken garam masala, lemon rice a cabbage dish. We also made a sweet snack at someone's request. Highly recommend to anyone travelling through Kochi
I have been to different cooking classes in different countries and this was without a doubt one of my favourites. Maria started the class with some very usefully theory which gives one valuable insights into Indian cooking and its general do's and don'ts. We then got some hands-on experience putting the theory into action preparing several dishes including one chicken dish, one fish, one vegetarian, and a desert/snack. The class took more than three hours including lunch time, Maria was very kind and knowledgeable and never rushed things. I asked her at the end where to buy some Tumeric roots and she was very kind to give me some fresh roots she had just recieved. This is a great experience for those visiting Fort Kochi and the cost is also very reasonable, especially when you consider the fact that you also get delicious lunch or dinner as part of the class.
