Matsyafed Narakkal Fish Farm

A late afternoon trip to the Matsya Fed fish farm at Njarakkal, in the outskirts of Kochi. The highlight of the trip was the Fish Jumping, where in you drive the motor boat round in circles and the fish leap out of water. Sipping hot tea with Pazham pori in accompaniment in a Bamboo hut in the middle of water amidst pouring rain followed next - as delightful an experience as it comes. Overall, time well spent.

We paid 2200 for 4 people. Waste of money. Solar boat not working. Old boats.worn down equipment’s.and mediocre service.spend your money some where else.really a bad experience.

Management can make it more tourist friendly by including more activities

I opted for the evening package (Dwayam). It started at 3 PM in the evening. It was good to spent time in the water by rowing the basket boat and also to experience the miniature version of fishing. Meenchattam was also good. You can enjoy with your family or a group of people.

It is anice place to spend a day with family and friends. Especially if you book a bamboo hut in the middle of the fish pond. Food will be served there. You can enjoy various boat rides.

There’s not much activities to do there, so entry fee is bit high. Good place to hangout for 1-2 hours.

കുട്ടികളും ഒത്തു കുറച്ചു നേരം മീൻ പിടുത്തവും ബോട്ടിങ്ങും ചെയ്യാൻ പറ്റിയ ഇടം. പാക്കേജിനു പകരം എൻട്രി ഫീ കൊടുത്തു കേറുക.

Very bad experience. Not even worth 200 rupees. I came from USA for a holiday and this much bad experience I got first time. Old boat cracked
In the middle for fish jumping (it’s worthless). Fishing pole is just an old stick.can you bielieve it. I DONT RECOMMEND. THIS TO NOONE. Another example of inefficient Kerala government place. UTTER WASTE. Please don’t waste your time and money

Irresponsible staffs.they will just leave you in the water if it starts raining while you are boating.its an okay place to just hangout though.

Best picnic place, if you want to enjoy a whole day. Fishing stick, rowing boat, pedal boat, kayaking and kutta vanchi are available for our use. There is a solar boat running only by solar energy. It will take you to go round the fish farm. There are water huts where we can spent our time and enjoy fishing. One island like area in the middle of farm, which is designed as big boat. There also we can spent time. One tea, one meal and icecream is included in the ticket fare. Ticket charge varies according to the trip. Saturday and Sunday ticket fare is little more, compared to the week days.

For almost 800 meters it is just potholes and slush

a tea and a banana fry
A boat ride in a pond
A boat cruise for 10 mins in the river
And see a mangrove forest.

Just a they have dig up big area and filled water in it and doing kind of fish farming
And they called it fishing tour
Don't get scamed by them
It's not a real experience just for kids fun is good but if u wana really do fishing it's a joke place

It's a shame how this wonderful place is maintained. They might even fleece you if you don't fix the prices.

Went for a family day out, It’s a beautiful place with wonderful stuffs to explore. The package we took was called Pravahini- and it included breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was awesome. Only time we felt bored was the long boat ride (may not be so for people who haven’t done much boating).

Very nice place but maintained very badly. Waste of money. Recommend only to come in evenings, very sunny. The place is not at all hygiene. Heavy charge for foods.

A one time visit is enough. Didn't felt to spend an entire day there. We left the place by 2 P M. Poomeen chattom wasn't very much observed. Merely satisfied with other activities such as fishing, kuttavanchi, pedal boating.

Other fish varieties like fish pickles, fish masala, fish fries, fish cutlets, prawns pickles, prawnschutney etc available.
It's a good place for those who wish to learn more about the varieties of fishes.

There is not enough parking slots available but you can park your car in the road side.

This is a good place to visit if you are interested in Fishing. The package includes the fishing and lunch and can have nice time here. Fishing sticks will be provided there along with the fish food made of mixing wheat and turmeric powder. Now they have introduced lots of other items like bamboo boating, flying fishes etc. You can take the fish caught by you. Overall nice place to enjoy your forenoon!

It is my request that please don't come here. Don't spoil your 150/-. For a very poor meal they are taking Rs 100/- culture less staff. We feel ashamed when they talk about the customers those come and go. Rather than the facilities they provide they are only concentration on how can grab the money of the visitors. Every thing is over charged. If you need to enjoy the same atmosphere please go to palakkari fish farm Vaikom. 100 times better than this. Consider it as a genuine feedback

Good half day nature getaway.
Have a solar boat, Coracle and a small boat.
For Rs150 you can get a Coracle/Small boat ride by yourself.
For Solar boat there is extra charge.
They will provide a small fishing rode and little bate, if you are lucky you will get to catch some fishes.

സർവീസ് വളരെ മോശം ആയിരിക്കുന്നു, ഇതിന് മുൻപ് നല്ല രീതിയിൽ ആയിരുന്നു. ഇന്നലെ ഞങ്ങൾ കടുംബ സമേതം പോയിരുന്നു. തൊട്ടി ഊഞ്ഞാലുകൾ കെട്ടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്, തല പോയ തെങ്ങിൽ ആണ് ഊഞ്ഞാൽ കെട്ടിയിരുന്നത്, കാല പഴക്കം കാരണം തെങ് കട മുതൽ ഒടിഞ്ഞു ഭാര്യയുടെ അടുത്തേക്ക് വീണു, പെട്ടെന്ന് ഒഴിഞ്ഞു മാറിയതിനാൽ വൻ ദുരന്തം ഒഴിവായി. ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക എല്ലാവരും

Excellent place for family. Boating, fishing, pedal boat, kutta vanchi, solar boat, cycle boat, meals with fish curry, snacks, tea, lime all are included with ticket.

Cleanliness is below average. I dont feel that its a must go spot. If fishing is your main agenda may be you can consider it. Otherwise it is not worthy. Food was below average. And even if you only want to eat a lunch you will have to pay 100rs in the name of entry feea. That is disspointing. Restaurant is self service one, even after paying a100rs for only entryto the restaurant.

It is a fish farm, we can enjoy fish curry meals with fish fry and also water cycling, speed boat with beautiful sightseeing.

Its very nice place for a day out. Tickets are reasonable ie, 300 per head for public holidays and 250 for other days. The ticket charges including fish meals and boating. Fishing is also allowed.

Waste of time and money. The only thing good was the lunch. Other than that, its not worth it. The place maybe good for scenery. But there's no facility fo chilling out or anything. The boating facility said to be included in the entry fee is of no use for ordinary people as we have to row the boat/kuttavanji. I think with the entry fee for 4 people one could go and have lunch at some other five star hotel and still have balance left. Good place for people who wants to waste money. Totally disappointing️

It's a nice place but it's pretty expensive as compared to others. They have activities available such as boating, fishing, speed boat, restaurant so on.once visiting is worth with family. They have also arranged options to catch fish and they will cook it for you. After sometime things will get boring as nothing is there to keep u entertained for long time. Reaching this place is difficult as when we went the road leading to this place was under construction and were forced to park the car at one place and walk all the way. You need to keep an eye on the price and timing to avoid surprise.

Awesome experience. Got a package (fish Curry meals, tea, ice cream, boating) for 250/-. Good place to spend half a day.

It is worth the money.
At Rs 300 (On Holidays) you will get delicious fish curry meals, fishing, tea/coffee and icecream. On an average it is worth spending 3-4hrs. You can plan this place as a secondary destination of your major trip. Narakkal beach situated half a kilo meter from this fish farm is must go place. The feel you get from the waves is a good experience. There is no advance booking. There will be a ticket counter just in front. There are lot of Private Fish Farm Tourist spots near this area which could be little bit costly, some of them do provide 'Karimeen' fry. Although they have mentioned they do provide Kayaking and Water cycling, the said the boats are not working and after entering the fish farm I felt it is not the place to try both. But we tried 'Kutta Vanji'. It was nice experience. If you are in a group of more than 5 people a ride in 'Kutta Vanji' is a must. If you pay extra Rs 200 you can also stay in a hut in the middle of the lake.

Best place if you need to have a good aqua fish experience.you can have a combo of
1) fish meals
2) you can catch fish on a fishing rod.
3) good view and small boating experience.make sure you reach there in the morning.

If you planning half day tour with lunch it will be your best choice. From entry ticket we will get a fish curry meals along with we can orders special items as desired. It will be better to reach there at Noon after having food can ride a boating in small lake along with live fishing nearby in walkable distance one beach is available

നല്ല അനുഭവങ്ങൾ തന്നെ ചോറിന് സെപഷ്യൽ മിൻ വിഭവങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കാവു. കുറച്ച് കൂടുതൽ തുക ഈടാക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഗവൺമെൻറ് ഹെഡിൽ ആണ് കാര്യങ്ങൾ അയൽക്കൂട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഊണ് നല്ലത് പക്ഷെ ചായ മിഷ്യൻ ചായ ആണ് ഒന്നിനും കൊള്ളില്ല അവർ എന്തിനു വേണ്ടിയാണ് ഇത്രയും തുക വാങ്ങുന്നത് മനുഷ്യർക്ക് നല്ല ഭക്ഷണം നൽകിയിട്ടുവേണം കാശ് വാങ്ങാൻ അല്ലാതെ ചെയ്യുന്നതെല്ലാം ശരിക്കും കിട്ടും ഉടനെ തന്നെ.

Nice place to spend a days holiday fishing and boating at a peaceful environment blessed with nature's beauty. The food served can be improved to add icing on the cake. The pedaling boat, water cycle etc that remain nonfunctional, if repaired, can make the experience more enjoyable.

The charge has increased to 300 for weekends and for using the bamboo hut and all you need to pay 500 for adult. This place is not worth for these rate and extra payment for boating.

Pretty good for a break from your hectic lifestyle, to relax in the scenic farm, fishing, rowing a round boat and float in it on the calm lake, and to eat an authentic fish curry lunch.

It was a good experience at malsyafed Njarackal. There is lot of entertainments like angling, kuttavanji, pedal boat, hammocks, kayak. The entrance fees is 300 rupees which includes meals, tea or coffee, ice cream, any of one boating. For angling we have to pay extra 50 rupees. Kuttavanji is very nice which driven ourself.
