One of the best MMD's in the country. Very much systematic and approachablr rather than being a typical slow moving goverment office. A good team of Marine professionals heading the organisation.

MMD COCHIN is one of the best MMD in India. Had been there for BSID procedure.
Keep the time appointment paper along with sid application form. Both required to get inside. Try to reach before time.
Whole process took only around 5 mins once your token is been called.
If incase need any photocopies, there is a small shop opposite of MMD and also for some tea/ snacks as well.

Cochin MMD located at willington island.
Walking distance from embarkation jetty where ferry service available from eranakulam jetty.

It is one of the best MMD in India. Having good staffs and infrastructure is so good. MMD Kochi conducting exams for Mates /Masters and for Engineers.

There is no bus facilities to reach there. Auto rickshaws available from Navel Base Bus Stop. Return trip was very difficult to get transportation.

Kochin MMD, which is well equipped and facilitated to conduct all DG shipping related exams and services. It is not so close to Ernakulam town, but very easy to reach this location by line bus or auto taxis [30 min travel from Ernakulam town}. All shipping services, Port trust office, Port trust hospital [yellow fever vaccination centre], MUI office are very close to this MMD. Good parking space. Hotels are very limited in close locality, hardly one tea shop. Merchant Navy club is with in walking distance from this locality. Photostat shops are also with in 500 mtrs from this site, not close to mmd. There is waiting area on ground floor, all kind of info exchanges can be done from here also online orals are clubbed in this floor. First floor is for Office administration's. 2nd floor for exam department.

Kochi MMD is an absolute heaven compared to rest of the MMDs. They actually treat you well and help out with your stuff unlike the other MMDs

This Central Government Office is located in the Willingdon Island, near Customs Office. The office is well equipped and we'll maintained. There are people in the reception to guide you with the requirements. Also it's not much crowded in normal working days. Candidates are required to wear formal dress while visiting this office.
