Mini Kalpakavadi Shappu. Had Tapioca, Fish Thala Curry, Oonu, and Beef Fry. There were three people, and the food was excellent. Each each hut has between 5 and 6 seats. I thought the price was a bit high. Ask the price of each dish before placing an order to avoid being astonished when the bill arrives. Food tastes good. The shapp is located on Alappuzha Changanassery road 300 metres south of Pandarakkalam Bridge. Male restrooms are dirty, while family restrooms are wonderful. A must-visit location for fans of toddies and a very pleasant staff. A person's mind will be enchanted by the shappu, which is situated near lush fields.evening time you can see the sun set from the frond gate recommended to go this place in the evening time best thing is that you book first and then go evening time this place will be fully occupied enough parking facility available you can experiance the nature
Recommended dishes Kera Thala Curry, Kappa Beef Fry, Fish Thala Curry, Karimeen Fry, Kappa Fish Curry
Recommended Time A rainy evening especially in the month of october

Wide variety of yummy foods. Fresh coconut toddy and they had a lovely AC room for family dining. One of the best Toddy shops in Kerala that, I have been to. Food was amazing. Very friendly staff and a must visit place for toddy lovers.
We visited the Mini Kalpakavadi Shappu for lunch. Had Pork fry, Duck curry, Beef Fry, Appam, Tapioca and Clam fry. There were 6 persons and the food was good. There were individual huts each having 5-6 seats. We also ordered "Mootha kallu" as it was very hot. We washed hot Tapioca, Appam, beef and Duck with cold Kallu. The shapp is situated 500 metre south of Pandarakkalam bridge on Alappuzha Changanassery road. Toilets for men is not clean but family toilet is good. The shappu is located next to green fields and will enchant one's mind.
Toddy was good but food was not that great. Service was not that great and place was untidy. Most menu items were over by the time we were there at 8: 30 pm.
Toddy shop in the midst of farm lands on the Alleppey - Changanasheery route. This shop is quite famous (and a little over-hyped) because it was featured in a cooking show on a TV channel a few years ago. Parking is limited (5-, 6 cars at a time). They have local toddy served with a variety of non-veg options (karimeen pollichath/fry, other fish itemd, duck, chicken, beef fry/roast among others). The day we went, the taste was not that great - service was slow but the staff was friendly. Though it's a toddy shop, families come here and they come for lunch mostly - because evenings are filled with local chettanmar drinking, singing and enjoying after their long day of hard labour or sitting idle and staring at people. Seating/neatness is below par - they have small coconut leaf woven huts which are old and not maintained, toilets are bad and the ambience is also not that great. If you are in Alleppey as a tourist and someone recommends you to this place, go only if you are a non-veg foodie but don't go here just for the experience or ambience. Place is not at all kid friendly obviously.
Worst food ever had in my life.surroundings were very badly maintained.all items are over priced and badly cooked items.beef and parotta were very worst items.fried we purchased were not good in taste and it was not value for money.totally a bad experience. If you r going to alappuzha pls avoid this place.
It's a good place but didn't live up to the hype. Overpriced. Toddy - was a bit sour. I'm a tourist so I don't know if that's good or not lol Non-veg food was good Veg food - almost nothing, but that's understandable
What I really disliked was that the owner asked us for a tip when leaving. We were about to tip him, but being asked for it with entitlement just ruined the experience.
Pathetic experience. Was a very bad experience from Alapuzha. Being from Kozhikode, expectations for food is always high, but do not expect the same. But the least I expect is edible food. Was served stale Kerala Poratta. The fungus had grown to such an extent where it's was growing layers. Overall, the service was bad 1. Impatient Bearer 2. Stale food 3. Tried to snatch the plate containing the stale food, but we had luckily taken video and pictures.
About minikalpakavady its an average toddy shop with fud. The food was just okay, i just feel like that. If you are looking for have fud with a great ambience minikalpakavady is not an option. The shop has good parking area. So many accomodation spaces for customers and they can have fud in their own wheels.
1) Ambience: 1/5 Cabins provide privacy but not clean
2) Food: 2/5 Beef Fry and Duck roast were okay but they didn't even care to heat them a little bit.porotta, appam, chappathi were literally like stones)
3) Service: 2/5 We couldn't find anyone after 10mins
4) Cleanliness: 1/5 Cats were walking around our legs while we were eating
We went there on 31st December night for food. Good place for family. They have made separate cubicles. We tried Kappa, beef fry and tharavu (duck) mappas. Beef fry was really good. Tharavu mappas was also good. Spicy food. ️ Toddy we didn't tried.
Decent food with good parking space.cleanliness not up to mark. 3 stars was for not providing even a handwritten bill.prices are high compared to quality of product. Good for a one time visit.
This is also where I had my lessons. Folk tales.folk songs.if you see my dear friend.an old hermit.nicknamed kutti (not sure how to translate in proper English). "milestone". May not be best translation.please be kind and generous as if he is in a good mood you may be blessed with some old songs and stories.
PS: Landmark to remember: ** If you are coming from Alleppey - take the first right after Kainakary junction ** If you are coming from Changnasserry - take the first left after crossing the 3 small bridges after Nedumudi Bridge
Place can be kept more cleaner. It is of a regular standard of a typical toddy shop in upkeep. But food is excellent. The toddy we got was pure and really tasty. 5 stars for food quality but 3 stars for cleanliness.
A perfect place for youngsters as well as family with good food and a perfect ambiance. A perfect toddy shop which serves fresh toddy as well as a huge varities of food.sutiable place for food vloggers as well as international and domestic tourists
Good experience and very delicious food with affordable price.and safe for family.: strongly recommended.should have to visit once and experience the taste of Kuttanad.have a spicy and mouthwatering time.
Thoooooooooooooori eriyaaaamm.ithrem vrithiketta oru shappp jeevithathil kanditilaa.absolutely hopeless people making the food.worst service.those who are planning to come here kindly buy a strip of lomotil also
Very good food. Good parking area is available. Toilet is there. We get different type of non veg food here. Family also come here. Hotel staffs behavior is good. There good view also. Located in kuttanadu, Alappuzha. Famous in the area.
Food is ok so is the "kallu". Many families visit here too.this "shaap" was featured in Asianet's food show " shaapile curry" before.it is situated near Champakkulam in the AC road along the backwaters.
Compare to other Todyshop it's expensive.everything they charge double, food is good but no quantity, if u r going with car they r looking first car and decide price, food was nise only problem they charging high prices
Mini kalpakavady. For taste and ambience this is the place. Consist of huts and ac rooms, this place a must visit one. But with the toilet, not acceptable, think there is no cleaning staff, it stinks like anything.
Fish curry which was tuna a little spicy but great taste for 120 rs. We had beef fry, which was just ok. And a duck mappas was also average. Go for kappa meals and fish cury and all fish items. Guarantee some taste.
This is a toddy shop.it's quite nicely kept.the rates at this place are quite reasonable. It's located at ac road. Family space is also available. But there is an acute shortage of waiters.
This is one of the famous toddy shop in the AC road. Like some of the other toddy shops in this area, food here is outstanding. Though this is a toddy shop, families comes here to enjoy not only toddy but the mouth watering food also. You can get original toddy also from here. The back water fish dishes are the main highlight here. Happy fooding there
This place has excellent food options and just amazingly delicious food. This place also do have an ambience which welcomes both family and other groups. Provides seperate area for family. You can get toddy and other food items at a reasonable price. This place has also got some great scenary which can refresh us. This place is nearly a few kilometers away from town. Go for it for spicy delicious non veg food and toddy.
One of the best toddy shops i have been to. Ample parking space, nice ambience, great food, reasonable price and enough hygienic for a toddy shop.konju roast is a must try.
The food is great. Awesome location with too much green all around. And the prices are cheapest as possible. Better Parking. I have gone only once, But I have seen many families coming to this place I said so because, the Hotel is a bit inside from the city. And if the families come this way to eat from this hotel it might be some good.
Huge disappointment and unbelievable rip off. I went there at 7 pm, only limited food varieties were available. Though the food I ordered was good in taste (maybe because of the oil and masala they add), the quantity was bad and most of the pieces seemed non edible and stale.
The bill went to a whooping amount, similar to nothing I have experienced before.
The ambience and staff interaction was good. But the food quality disappointed me and that when I understood taste and quality are two different things.
