Mr Deepu from Scenic Mundro provides exceptional service. He not only accepted my booking the day before, but he also made sure to assign an operator when we arrived at his designated place 30 minutes early. Though Aromal (who has rave reviews) was our first choice, he was already booked with another group. We rode with Lambo, who was likewise pleasant and cheerful the entire time. We stopped the canoe at all scenic sites; the only thing missing was that he couldn't speak Hindi or English, so communication was difficult, but we got by with hand gestures. The entire experience was breathtaking. Start at 6 a.m. So the canoe voyage can be completed on schedule and you can witness beautiful sunrise on Ashtamudi lake.

If travelling in your own vehicle to this place, then parking can be taken care by Mr Deepu.

This is one of the amazing experience. The best time to go for a canoe ride is morning around 5 to 5: 30. So that you can enjoy the sunrise and no bright sunlight. Aromal (Canoe expert) put nice AR Rahman songs to make the ride more appealing. Thanks Scenic Munro for arranging.

It's simply soothing and tranquil. The trail passes through small canals and then opens up to the Ashtamudi lake passing through some scenic views and the famous mangrove arcs. Definitely give it a try when in Kerala. It's different and offbeat.

We chose the 2.5 hour sunrise canoe ride at Munroe Island for Valentine’s Day. We started from Varkala at 4.30 AM and drove for 1.5 hours. (Since there is no public transport to this place, you can drive or rent a scooter or hire a cab on waiting basis). We reached the canal by 6.00 AM and while it was still dark and lit dimly by the moonlight, we started our ride. Slowly the scenery turned orange with silhouette of coconut trees, it was such a magical experience. We watched a beautiful sunrise in the middle of the lake and went through natural mangrove arches. The place was yet to be explored and not crowded at all, we had the entire lake to ourselves. Aromal was incharge of the canoe and he was so friendly and patient throughout the ride. He also took amazing photos of us. We stopped for tea on the bank and ended the trip with so much of memories. We highly recommend this company!

This was very unique experience since the houseboats are very less here and very private. The staff were very good and friendly. Excellent vegetarian food as per our request. Overall the trip is awesome.

My super enjoyable trip was arranged by friends, our host for the duration of our stay. We stayed as his Munroe Nest home stay and that was great too. Everything went very well with the boat trip, superb organisation and highly professional.

We booked Scenic Mundro for the sunset Canoe ride of Munroe Island. It's an 2.5 hours circular ride through backwaters into the village and Astamandi lake. The your also covers Mangrove forest, Mangrove arch and various photo points. If you're lucky you'll get glimpse of jellyfish among many sea creatures.
The guide and operators are very professional. The trip is totally worth, the route covered is different from other operators.

It is a calm and quiet place where you can explore canals, the Ashtamudi Lake, and mangrove forests with a wooden canoe. Even prices are more convenient. Definitely recommended.

Very good experience, our guide Aromal was very patient, took good pics of us at all scenic points and even picked us up from our location instead of us going to their office. Trip cost was also reasonable.

Munroe Island offers a much better experience to explore Kerala's backwaters. Alleppey can be fun if you are a big group renting a hosebooat but you need to consider the noise, traffic, and crowd in the canals. It is quite surprising, instead, that Munroe Island is never mentioned in the guides about Kerala although is definitely a more interesting and less touristic place.

It was a very peaceful experience.but we wish we had come a lil earlier. It was a lil cloudy so missed the sunset. But the night and darkness was also a good experience. The place is easy to find the staff were good to us as well.

As there was lot of boating options in Munroe island, it was bit difficult to choose one. Went ahead with my gut feeling and it was perfect. The customer service was amazing, from the time I made the booking till the last moment. As we were not sure about the route, the team/ Deepu provided minute details in such a way it was easy for us. Sharath was very helpful as he took us around and he was able to answer all our questions regarding the place. He was very patient while we clicked photos and showed us places where we can get good clicks as well. Also, suggested a nice place to grab dinner.

If anyone is bit confused or not sure, would suggest you go for this one without any second thought.
