Had Biriyani Rice and Chicken Dry fry. The Chicken was so bad, it was so dry and fried deep, I had a difficult time chewing it as it was very rubbery kinda texture. And not at all tasty. The rice was decent. The service was exceptional though.

Biryani at this MVK always clicks, and its a tough task to be.
Other dishes could be hit and miss, depending on contents and day, esp fish items - its a gamble.
The service is always with a smile. That works out too, and makes up for the poorly kept infra.

This place used to be my favourite biriyani spot in kannur town for many years.
But now there's something missing in it.
The authenticity of the biriyani is lost.
Price of the biriyani increased to 170₹ but taste declined.
Parking in btw the traffic is a herculean task.

Pathetic! Ordered chicken biriyani and chili chicken… chicken in the biriyani like a hard stick on the plate which even can’t manage through a mixer grinder!

Such a low quality food!

Chilli chicken was full of bones and flush was vanished! A full chicken costs to 140-150 rs and a chilli chicken having 6-8 pcs for a half plate …I dont mind paying money but the quality of food was so poor in terms of price ….

They refuse to pay balance, 50 rs balance took as tip and refuse to pay the balance. When we asked to give the balance, they started acting like they do not know and did not gave the money back. Also food is too costly. Order takes too long to serve. Totally worst experience.

Looking for Best Biriyani in Kannur? Don't think twice. Go to MVK and get Chicken Dum Biriyani. Make sure you ask for extra masala as they dont normally give enough masala in the biriyani.

Very good location as it just aside the highway.foods are tasty and hygenic. Staffs are also good. Meals served are really good. And all should try their special mvk lip slip cocktale drink very tasty.

Loved the biryani, be it chicken or prawn or mutton.l wasnt a fan of Mutton biryani once. But MVK's biryani changed my perspective.

I juz had a biriyani there nd it being aunthetically made wid less oil nd fried chicken it suited my taste buds well.its a pretty popular restaurant vich might make it difficult for u to get a table free, especially on a weekend. If u dont prefer spacious, ventilated, least crowded places nd nly for tasty food.thn mvk is definitely a good option

What ever you have.jus taste the lemon tea after it. Taste beyond words.

Amazing Biryani one can get in Kannur. Authentica malabari biryani. Does not serve kerala thali veg lunches. Has other non veg sides and couple of fresh juices in the menu.

MVK was the famous hotel known for biriyani. They were the pioneers in Kannur selling biriyani for so many years. Ever since my childhood I've been visiting this place on and off. The last time I ate their delicious biriyani was 2 and half years ago. Every time I visit Kannur, I make sure to eat from here. This time I was little disappointed with their biriyanis and other dishes as they no longer matched the unique old taste that I had relished all these years. Not sure what has changed but their biriyanis taste just like as in any other average hotel.

The restaurant is situated at an excellent place, it's ease to reach. Had been here many times and tasted a variety of delicousies. But today happened to have the meals plus Ayakoora fry, it was yummmGood hospitality too.

Great place for authentic Thalassery Biryani. Other dishes such as chicken curry, roast or chilli are nothing to boast about.

You get the best Thalassery style Chicken biriyani, no need pieces just the rice will do justification for the money paid. Not posh, but food is awesome. Cheaper and better compared to others.

No juices/dessert available, only cold drinks. Service is very nice.

I visit this place quite often. The biryani is just awesome here. The only trouble people come across is the parking. Since the place is along roadside and within a narrow road people find it difficult to park. But you can park in ample space for Rs 20 in the opposite kamala international buliding which is opened upto night.

MVK Restaurant is the place anybody living in Kannur would suggest first if you are looking around to taste the best Biriyani in town. And it won’t be an exaggeration to say that the taste of the ‘Biriyani’ available here is indeed marvellous. But the special dishes from this restaurant are not limited to ‘Biriyani’ alone. There are other items that are quite popular too.
The restaurant is situated just 200 metres away from the Munishwaram Kovil Junction and is one of the most renowned restaurants in the city. It also has a sister concern named ‘Cool Land’located at the starting of the S. N. Road itself. This road is the one that leads from Munishwaram Kovil Junction to Payyambalam Beach.
Though the restaurant looks pretty small from outside, it has a considerably clean ambience with simple furnishing. Both the ground floor and first floor dining areas of the hotel are laid out with cushioned steel chairs and steel tables with wooden tops.
‘Chicken Biriyani’ is the most popular biriyani item from this restaurant. The chicken pieces are soft, smooth and tastes good with the biriyani rice. Among all the spices used in the preparation, cloves give a dominating flavour to this dish. ‘Mutton Biriyani’ comes a close second to ‘Chicken Biriyani’ considering the demand from customers. Tender pieces of mutton along with rice are cooked well with limited amount of ghee and tastes awesome. Salad and pickle are also served with the ‘Biriyanis’.
‘Mutton Chaps’ is another item you must try from here. The small pieces of mutton are cooked with lots of oil. The use of coriander in the ginger-garlic gravy leaves behind a lingering taste in your mouth. ‘Pepper Chicken’contains two large pieces of chicken in grey coloured thick oily gravy. It is a good side dish to try with chappati or parotta.
The best time to visit this restaurant is during the lunch hours. Meals are not served here in the afternoons. When it comes to parking, you cannot leave your vehicle anywhere on the roadside near the restaurant as the roads are pretty narrow and congested. It’s better to pay and park in the nearby shopping complex instead.
You can even make a phone call and place order for your food which will be served in your car by the time you reach the restaurant. All in all, MVK Restaurantis a good place with excellent food to dine in with family or friends.

Went there on the recommendation of auto drivers when we asked for a hotel that serves good biriyani. And it was good. A bit crowded.
