A traditional Malabar style hotel in the thalaserry region serving good non veg food.including sea food
Filled with wooden desks and benches, it gives a mess / Canteen feel just like in a college or school. It also pulls in a good amount of crowd for the lunch time with equal number of parcels flooding out at the same time.
Tried out fish curry meals with the following side dishes
Ayakoora fry Prawn masala Kallumakaya fry
Drenched in keralas finest masalas, it gave a wholesome feel with satisfaction to the peak.
Seatings are quite limited, so better hurry up during lunch hours for getting seated fast.
National Hotel is a Thalassery institution that has been serving delicious food for over 100 years. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, and is a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
The hotel's restaurant serves a variety of Keralan dishes, including fish curry, biryani, and appam. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and the portions are generous.
I recently visited National Hotel for lunch, and I had a great time. I ordered the National Fish Curry, which was delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the curry was flavorful and not too spicy.
The service at National Hotel was also excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they were always happy to make recommendations.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at National Hotel. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was charming. I would definitely recommend National Hotel to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Thalassery. "
Here are some of the key points from the review:
The hotel has been serving delicious food for over 100 years. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and the portions are generous. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is charming. The reviewer specifically mentioned the National Fish Curry, the appam, and the payasam as being some of the highlights of their meal. I hope this helps!
Lunch is better than breakfast. I had an interesting breakfast comprising of poratta, appam, goat head curry, and kakka roast. The goat head curry was delicious. For lunch, I relished kallumakaya and prawns, which happen to be my favorite. The parking near the hotel is spacious, but the seating space is limited.
Should say that the food served are all local delicacies - extremely delicious. We normally take the food and have it from our vehicle. They are having spacious parking space. At such a busy place, it is a welcoming place for us regular travellers.
Popular among Thalasserians, their favorite breakfast and lunch spot. Mutton brain and beef my favorite.it will go well with noolputtu or porotta. A must try spot
️This is a very small restaurant, and their menu is not as extensive as that of other well-known restaurants in Thalassery, but they serve what they have with good taste and food safety. ️ I ate my lunch here when I wasn't hungry, but it was a good time to do so. ️There is a large steel plate with water all over it after washing utensils. This makes customers feel like they are in their own kitchen at times. ️They serve large portions, which is a plus because they never let customers to exit empty stomach. ️ Their prices are also reasonable for the average person. ️For lunch, there is no menu; you will be served rice with veg curry or non-veg curry. ️They do have a large washbasin, similar to a kid's bath tub. ️With meal they do serve masala butter milk (mour)
Have a delicious lunch with sea food dishes of Thalassery. Parking Facility available. Visit this hotel while your travel through Thalassery. Fair and reasonable price.
National Hotel - Thalssery's Seafood Spot! National hotel is a famous hotel in palissery, thalassery. They serve super fresh fish frys, meals n breakfast. The owner is very jovial (never saw him sitting peacefully, always busy taking orders). It will be crowded from 12pm. They have some variety aunthentic dishes that no other thalssery restaurant/hotel offers. You'll have to wait a bit but once u get to taste the food it will be worth the wait. Hotel has no parking spots.
We ordered meals with red snapper fry (chemballi), king fish fry (ayakura), prawns curry, crab masala, fish roe (meen mutta), squid curry (koonthal) and mutton brain. Red snapper fry was the show stealer (damn good). Other dishes were fresh n tasty too. Felt like they used same gravy for parwns n squid. They also have goat head n fish head curry.
Food was excellent. But you will have to wait for someone to finish their food to get a seat. Even at 3 pm we waited for long to get a seat. Ample parking area. Restaurant is a small one. A budget restaurant with awesome tasty food.
We had high expectations from this restaurant but I would say that it was total disappointment. We ordered Karimeen fry, ayla mulakittath, Squid and Beef. Not even a single dish was tasty, Karimeen was not properly fried, Squid was not good, beef had a smoked taste. Everything was total mess.
One of the best hotel in Thalassery where you can try and enjoy wide variety of seafoods and other stuffs. Seafood dishes are the specialities of this place. Parking is quite a nuisance as the hotel is situated very near to always traffic filled highway. You will have to find a parking nearer first to enjoy the dining experience in full. Excellent food. Must visit hotel in Thalassery.
