Boat rides are must here…boat house stays are worth it too…enjoyed staying in boat house.having lunch and breakfast while cruising around…

Great views but you'll be bored out just after an hour or two as there's nothing else to do. Food was ok. Recommended for families and couples but not friends. And don't expect to be sailing the entire time. He'll halt the boat for more than half of the time.

Personally tho, we had few more issues. The TV remote was not provided, we are not even allowed to use the speaker to play the songs out.

One of the most popular country boat races (Vallamkali) in Kerala. It used to take place on the second Saturday in August, but this year (2022) they moved it to 4th September (Sun.) because climate change has made August a very rainy month.

The Nehru Trophy Boat Tri Race is a popular Vallam Kali held in the Punnamada Lake. The Nehru Trophy Valam kali is conducted on the second Saturday of August every year and is a famous tourist attraction.
The Chundan Vallam also has the record as "the biggest water vessel used for sports purpose".

The course is 1.4 km (0.9 Miles) in Punnamada Lake. The 100–120 feet long canoes made of a wood locally called "Aanjili thadi" (wild jack wood) carrying 90- 110 rowers which moves like a snake through the channels (hence the name), is an eye catching sight for any tourist.

Great experience! One does need to witness the magnificent "Chundan Vallams" with the about 80 rowers all rowing in unison as well as the cacophony of the guys providing the rhythm. Advisable to carry along food and drinking water. Advisable to reach early in order to get the seats with the best view.
