I have never actually stayed in this hotel, but the restaurant has been recommended to me many times. So myself and a friend visited for dinner. Amazing food, especially the Fish Tandoori, Amazing and professional restaurant service, in particular by one of the waiters who really had everything under control. He seemed to give everybody special service. Ive been back twice since for dinner and our special waiter wasn't on duty. Food was as delicious, but not the service.
This is a fantastic place to stay. It offered an ideal base to explore Kochi and beyond from, but was also great for unwinding. The walled garden and pool offer an escape from the bustle outside. Sukesh and his team are extremely helpful and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. Overall there's a lovely homely atmosphere, accentuated by very chilled pet dogs Happy and Gavaskar (yes, named after Sunil!) and the two cats. The real star though is the food. Chef is very approachable and everything that we chose over our 4 nights was absolutely delicious, be it a lunch wrap, European cuisine or the stunning Keralan curries. Do not miss the fish curry or the coconut shrimp cashew curry if that's your thing. The menu is so varied that every palate will be catered for though. Congratulations and many thanks to Sukesh, chef and all of the staff for giving us a fantastic stay. We hope to return one day.
Without doubt the best place to stay in Fort Kochi and possibly in my top 10 hotels in the world. Everything from the decor to the hospitality as well as the delicious food makes this an extraordinary place to stay. Jude and his team are like one big family who welcome you as one of their own. Look no further and just book this hotel. You wont regret it!
Stayed at the hotel for two nights and had best experience the rooms and the washrooms are very clean and they maintain all the hygiene. The atmosphere and the premises are very beautiful. Highly recommended
Visited the Old Harbour hotel for lunch. The visit was driven by curiosity as the hotel dates back to 1788, the old building with Dutch and Portuguese architecture has been restored to its current form. Located in Fort Kochi close to the beach the structure cannot be missed. We stopped by to have lunch at the restaurant in the hotel. The restaurant is spacious comfortable and overlooks the courtyard. The menu has a wide variety of choices focusing on international cuisine and for those who visit Fort Kochi in expectation of an authentic/traditional kerala meal, this is not the place you want to choose.spacious comfortable and overlooks the courtyard. The meal portions are medium sized, just enough for one person but its a good idea to ask if your main is served with rice as the crab and fish dishes were served with rice. The hotel is not inexpensive and one may expect to spend 1200 to 1400 each for an a la carte meal. But for those who wish to have a meal in this historical building its two birds with one stone!
Got to know this hotel was petfriendly and went there with my doggy on her birthday and before entering there i confirmed it with the staffs if they are petfriendly or not and they said yes too.but had an bad experience from there and without finishing our food we stepped out from there.if this hotel is not petfriendly please mention that atleast before starting the food
I’m a senior doctor and for the staff to treat visitors like they are something the cat dragged in is unacceptable. Who have them the right to be rude to guests? !
Sea food was over cooked and tasted really bad. I had the worst veg food and pork vindaloo in my life and the service staff was highly discriminatory and were rude towards almost everyone. Worst experience I've EVER had in a restaurant. Better to waste your money by throwing it on the road than to visit this place.
Although we didn't stay here but no way we could have missed a chance to try their restaurant, and, what a decision we made. Ambience was classy and artistry and food was lick-smacking good.
The hotel is stylish and we had high expectations when my daughter and friend (two young doctors) visited The Old Harbour for lunch. My daughter was treating her friend for her birthday but thanks to the rude staff who decided that these young girls couldn’t possible afford them, the day was ruined! They kept asking them if you plan to order at all as if they didn’t look capable of paying for their meal. This is just not done! ️
I popped in for a meal with my friend, was asked if I planned on ever ordering without being offered a menu. This proceeded to happen 3 times across a span of 5 minutes that I chose to pay attention to the pets the restaurant keeps. I enquired whether the rush was because the kitchen was closing soon, and if so, there was certainly a better way to ask if a guest was ready to order. I believe the manager came up to us and said we didn’t seem like we would order as we were allowing THEIR pet to continue being on the table which we found quite bizarre. Long story short, we were quite literally run out of the hotel. The Old Harbour Hotel has probably had the worst service I have ever experienced of the 27 countries I have visited. I proceeded to call my parents and told them not to bother joining us. To me, the best food Kerala has to offer wouldn’t be worth subjecting yourself to this establishments hospitality.
One of the best hotel at fort kochi. We went for a photoshoot and had a tea from there. Wonderful ambience and excellent service. Best place for tourists. Parking available. Located near the sea.
I think they run this hotel just for deceiving poor foreigners! Ambience is good! But the cost is tooo high! We ordered for a soup and we were not that satisfied. Service was good! But its not that worth to visit this hotel!
We had been searching for a good hotel in fort cochi and had our heart set on The old harbour hotel. As we were planning to travel with our 7 month old - we emailed the hotel to arrange a cot in advance (which seemed like a very normal request). We got a email from back from someone named Jude saying usually the cot is bought by the guests. Even though it seemed like a ridiculous reply given we were travelling from delhi, I emailed back asking if the baby cot could be arranged in which case we would be happy to take our booking forward.
In reply to our request for a baby cot - jude was happy to provide us a mattress on the floor for the baby, with extra cost ofcourse.
We thanked him for his thoughtful solution and booked another property
I was sweating profusely as the place was too hot. Service is good. Food wasn't. Place looks like a colonial mansion. But I would prefer Brenton boatyard over this place.
I gave 5 stars not for the stay or food, but because of the kindness of staff. I went there on a busy Sunday evening after visiting Fort Kochi, in search of a washroom as a pregnant women. They were kind enough to let me use it, without asking questions and without having to order anything. I understand they would get these requests from the people visiting around all the time and they didn't have to oblige me, but they understood my situation and let me use the restroom and even guided me through the path. Amazing staff. Kindness is still alive. I would like to visit there once again for the food or stay. PS: They have 2 cute dogs
Pls do come in for chilled beer in this inviting atmosphere. One of the nuances of fort kochi, you can order in-house wine in glass, food is also good. Just 2 issues bothered me - mosquito and the toilets are not equipped for Indian users. Enjoy the colonial architecture, presence of your fellow mates in this charm of the place.
Great experience with friendly and poliete staff. Worth the money spend. We stayed in the lily cottage great pool experience food was also of good quality
Such a nice staff, such a beautiful hotel. It was our first visit to this hotel (I always wanted to visit here). We went there to celebrate my niece's birthday. The food was out of this world (kudos to the chef). The hotel is beautiful and gives you a feeling of British Era. Their chocolate mousse was out of this world (forgot to take the pic). Never knew daal chaval can be so tasty. I would recommend everyone to give this hotel a visit.
Special mention of the staff.they are the most friendly and courteous I have ever seen in hospitality.
Situated in the heart of Fort kochi, had been here for dinner, loved the out door seating near the pool, only problem were the mosquitoes, the staff were very helpful and tried their best, service was excellent, the food ok, portions were a bit small for the price, however this place will always be special.
It was great experience! We stayed here 2 times and each our stay was amazing. Attentive service, wonderful rooms and outstanding food. 100% recommended
The food was delicious and their staff was very friendly. The restaurant is clean and quiet. It's a great place to have a peaceful lunch or dinner. Additionally, it's located in a beautiful part of Fortkochi.
Vintage look, God's Own entrance and sea facing.great huts. However it's closed due to Covid restrictions. Likely to open within next one week Looked great
Princess Chocolate Signature Dessert is a must try. Beautiful modern- ancient rustic look with intricate collection of old artefacts, lush green outdoor seating next to pool side, patio area has a collection of lovely paintings, homely and warm interiors. Seafood is great! Can visit here more than once! Sweet and welcoming staff- speak to Alex he will make your day and yes the two beautiful pet cats Lion king and Valentine! There's also a never seen before giant ️ candle in the garden.
The old harbour hotel is situated near the koder house. You can see a lot of pictures in social media which is taken infront of this hotel.
The fort kochi beach is in a walkable distance from here. This place is also good for photoshoots. There is a children’s park near this place. This is not much crowded in the mornings
Amazingly done and very well maintained place. This is pure luxurious heritage stay, it gives you the best feeling about yourself. Super welcoming and dedicated people. We’ll be back for sure at the earliest. Thank you
I had been there before Corona and it was really nice place with beautiful ambient but little bit expensive as compared to other small shop but the things u get here tht wil never get from there place, and which makes unique from others in fort kochi must try place, go n visit once it restarts
When I speak about atmosphere, its quiet awesome. But if I'm talking about restaurant alone, then its too costly and food quantity is very very less. Staff's are very nice
Had only been to the restaurant. Food and service was horrible. Except for the prawns every other item we ordered was overcooked be it paneer, fish or pork. Had the worst pork vindaloo in my life. I found the service staff highly discriminatory towards Indians. This restaurant is off our list. I will never recommend this property to anyone.
The folks are great. Has a personal touch to the service. Compensated our (me and my better half) rather boring day by giving us a wonderful dinner and spectacular ambience.
Great meal in the restaurant. Delicious food, well presented and reasonably priced by western standards although a bit pricey compared to other local restaurants. Let down by the service which was slow to start, but improved once we'd ordered.
While we did not stay here (wow the rooms and facilities are incredible), we popped in for drinks and dinner by the pool and were not disappointed! The entire experience was nothing short of fantastic; the owner really knows what he’s doing, has selected a phenomenal team (chef!), and has created one of the most beautiful spaces in Kochi. Hats off to all.
Old Harbour Hotel is a 300 year old Portuguese restored mansion located in Fort Kochi, Cochin. Free WiFi access is available in the public areas of the property. The hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant.
Each room here will provide you with air conditioning, a minibar and a seating area. There is also an electric kettle. Featuring a shower, private bathroom also comes with free toiletries and slippers.

Top class service. A hotel with a beautiful view and vibe. Surely suggest for others. Will visit again. The waiters are informative. They will let you know about the items. Outdoor seating is available. 300 year structures are amazing. Nature friendly zone. You will feel relaxed while inside the hotel.
At the heart of ancient Fort Cochin, Kerala, a place that exudes history and culture, is the 'Old Harbour Hotel. ' A 300 year-old building that has for long been a heritage monument of this town, now reopened as a boutique hotel. Built in the Dutch style of architecture with hints of Portuguese influences, it was the first hotel of old Cochin. Later it remained a residential home to employees of English Tea broking firms until it was left unused for a period of time.
Old harbour hotel is just amazing. It's simply a 5 star hotel with the most expensive dishes. The coffee over there is amazing and I definitely recommend trying the cinnamon flavoured coffee. It costs 120 rupees and about five people can drink out of it. And the flavours are amazing and so is the quality of the food and the ambience of the place. You can take some amazing photos over there if you have a good camera. Every time I go to Fort Kochi I make sure that I enter old harbour hotel because I have fallen in love with their dishes and amazing food. They also have a cute cat there which we can pet, he/she lives at old harbour hotel and just enough to make your heart feel warm. Everything about the hotel is amazing from the artwork to the pool the food to the rooms that are available. Even the washroom and the artwork is custom and there is tradition rooted within them. You can see a lot of Japanese paintings as well as old ancient ceiling fans. It will make you feel nostalgic about your childhood and a word of advice. Once you go there, you will never stop going there every time your in Fort Kochi
It's a treat to the eyes and soul to experience this heritage hotel which is very beautiful and also picture perfect for Instagram. We had a basic meal of soup and starter and it was yummy
The place is on the main road and is opposite to the Chinese fishing nets on the fort Kochi beach. The cafe gives you Vintage feels and is mostly used for photography.
Stayed here a night. The service was quite good and the rooms were also pretty lovely. Its quite the artistic hotel with paintings and sculptures around. The view in the morning is also quite lovely, especially if the room is facing the garden. Our room came with a complimentary breakfast at the Kashi cafe and that was quite a good meal too. Overall, a very pleasant stay.
A restaurant which is only meant for foreigners. The food items are that much expensive. Not only expensive, food here follow the diet of foreigners. Less quantity of main dish and much quantity of curry or side dish. Also they serve half cooked food. So dear Malayalees, it's better avoid the restaurant.
Loved the ambience and food.the service was excellent. The staff helped us decide the food and the quantity. Only drawback not many options for vegetarians
We stayed here because we'd stayed before in 2015 and had such good memories and we were certainly not disappointed. We think that it may be the best hotel we have ever stayed in.
Beautiful hotel in a great location. But the service is bad. Youll have to search for their staff in the hotel as youll find no one in the reception are most of the time. Rooms are good. Parking is not possible most of the time. They have a beautiful pool side restaurant. Also their garden view rooms are worth staying.
Anyday this place is a must visit for people visiting fort Cochin. Beautiful setting and amazing food. Beef steak, seafood salad and seafood pasta was amazing. Waiters make you feel at home. Interiors and the pool takes you back to the Dutch era. What more can you ask on the heart of fort Cochin? Beer, seafood and a pool! Keep it up Old Harbour.
Had the most magical experience with two friends. The hotel is lovely and the staff are superb! Such caring, attentive, lovely people. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and will most certainly be back!
