I am giving 2 stars only because the resort is really beautiful and the location is nice. Otherwise the management is making every effort to make your experience worse. The manager was rude in some instances. Please don't go by the pics as they don't give you an independent cottage but a suite in a villa. The suite was good. But still we expected an independent cottage as shown in photos. Breakfast is very limited especially if you are a vegetarian. They would simply deny giving anything else apart from one 1-2 items they have. So, don't even ask. Overall the experience was very average.

“During my stay at Olive Brook, the experience was marred by the manager’s consistently rude and disrespectful demeanor. From the moment I placed an order for food, the manager’s response was notably harsh and unprofessional when I made a simple inquiry about its status after 30 minutes. This rude tone continued throughout the stay. Moreover, the room lacked essential facilities, such as a kettle and sufficient toiletries, a shortfall that inconvenienced our stay. Additionally, despite booking for three guests, we were provided with only one water bottle, an oversight that was quite disappointing. When we requested the third bedding for our party, the delay in its provision - coupled with the manager’s dismissive attitude - added to the frustration. Overall, the manager’s rude and unprofessional behavior significantly soured our experience and led to a stay that fell well below expectations. This demeanor overshadowed any positive aspects of the accommodation, making it challenging to recommend this establishment to others. ”

It's away from the main market of Munnar, Old style rooms with varanda and beautiful gardens around. Thomas the manager at Olive Brook is very friendly and such a gentleman.

Very very bad manager controlling this hotel. Very bad service. Hotel facilities were very poor. The bathrooms very bad not clran. No food options and need to go town almost 5 km through very bad road.
Location is good but hotel isn't worth for family stay.

Our stay at Olive Brook was very peaceful. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. The sevice was exceptional as well. Every staff member we met, from the check- in to the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help! Special mention goes to the manager Mr. Sabu & service staff, Mr. Sanal. Thank you! We highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Munnar.

One of the best resort in Munnar in the budget of 2k-3k. Service and staff are mentionable, they are great.

The stay was very peaceful, I had a good night of sleep waking up with the sound of birds. The prices are affordable. There is a tea estate nearby where we can view the sunset everyday. The only improvement which I would suggest is the quality of the food.

Our stay at Olive Brook was amazing. The property location is beyond beautiful. You get 360 degrees view from the roof top. The rooms are amazing, service is amazing and the staffs were excellent too. The only downside is the entry to this location is a steep road so elderly people cannot travel up and down without transportation. The place is magical surrounded by beautiful plantation and nature.

Rooms are big, spacious & neat. All common lighting including room balcony are switched off by 10 pm, which should be avoided. It becomes totally dark then. I have not seen any hotels or resorts switching off the common lightings. There is no phone in the room. Overall it was a good stay.

Stunning eco friendly environment with beautiful Mountain View. Friendly staffs and good service, but Restaurant too much cost.

I've given 4 stars to Olive Brook as it's a mixture of 5* and 3* facilities. The beautifully maintained gardens are full of flowers and have wonderful views. The gardens and friendliness / helpfulness of the staff were 5*

However, the rooms are looking tired and in need of some maintenance. For example, our bathroom was missing several tiles, leaving electrical wires exposed, and one bedroom window could not shut. The WiFi is also very intermittent and generally meant going outside to get a signal. I'd score these factors 3*, hence an overall score of 4*

Excellent place to stay for nature lovers.the place s a treat for your eyes.specially the wooden house on second floor is awesome.the view from room is great.food is good.good hospitality.specially sunil.we loved our Munnar

Awesome place at an affordable price. Slightly away from the city centre which is the plus point as you can enjoy the nature in its purest form. Good food and very friendly staff.

Disappointing. The property is nice but not well maintained. The rooms don’t have basic amenities like water bottles, intercom, kettle, tea/coffee sachets. Our rooms had very bad linen. Bed sheet and towel were stained and torn. Hot water was intermittently available. For Breakfast they had only one set menu per day. We only got idli, sambar and chutney. They did not have any other options. Not even bread and butter/jam.

Special note: The reception manager was extremely rude. No hospitality etiquettes. Did not know how to talk to guests and was extremely ill -mannered.

Overall the property was good but the stay experience was not pleasant at all. Not worth.

There was a bad smell inside the room.

There was no mobile network coverage & WIFI provided by the hotel doesn't work inside the room.

The property is beautiful. However the staff needs training. The manager’s behaviour is rude.he should be replaced or trained on how to treat guests. Food options are very limited.only one set menu for breakfast which is not expected at the price point. Full points the location and property but should be better staffed and better maintained. The behaviour of the manager - Manoj Thomas must change, also considering the price range per night and location, better options for lunch dinner and breakfast should be present.

Olive brook is a very beautiful, nice, calm and pleasant resort to stay in. Cottages are very clean, comfortable and have a beautiful view of outside. Their staff is extremely polite and serving. They serve you simple and very tasty food. Because of their staff and food we dropped visiting Thekkady and extended our stay in munnar.

Great view from balcony, very good place for couples to spend the weekend away. Great ambience and very friendly staff!

We spent 4 nights at the end of April and enjoyed our stay very much, in the beautiful Olive Brook. From the tidy/clean rooms to the helpful & friendly staff, the cottages offered a relaxing and peaceful stay during our time in Munnar. We did lots of walking and hiking around the area - the highlight though was the Malabar whistling thrush that visited us at the property daily. The room we stayed in needed some basic maintenance but apart from that the property is recommended. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you Olive Brook.

Wish I could have given 5 stars to this place. But as they say nothing is perfect. Had a wonderful stay at Olive Brook. Awesome experience. I will list out the pros and cons of this place.
Pros
1. Awesome location. It's near to Pothamedu view point which is at higher altitude compare to the rest of places. That made the stay and our view serene and very close to nature.
2. The ambience of olive brook is mind blowing for nature lovers.
3. The support staffs are very diligent, helpful and cordial. Cleanliness is spot on.
4. Food preparation done by them is also great.

Cons
1. Frequent power outages. Mobile network is also difficult to catch there and such power outages hampered internet connection through the hotel wifi.

2. Advisable to book olive brook directly through them or if done through 3rd party app its advised to confirm the type of room before visiting. We had a hiccup with the type of room we got and the manager was not in a position to sort it out by himself. The matter got sorted only after we raised the issue with the 3rd party app.

3. Cash is the only mode of payment in olive brook. No Gpay, no swipe machines.

Great experience at Olive Brook. Thanks to all the staff for an amazing service. The hotel gives you great comfort in the midst of nature and serves as a perfect getaway destination.

Really not worth the money, the food is so bad and bland, they claim it is home style but charged city level restaurant rates.the place is friendly but that is a great plus. Went because it had great ratings. But don't know why it has such good ratings. They don't even have a view for 2.5 k room.

Very good ambience. Excellent service. Very cooperative staff. Food was average. Not much of a view.

An absolutely spiffing place for anyone who have at any point in their lives been intrigued and comforted by nature. Also a great place for birding.

The place is nice to enjoy with family and friends. It's far from the Munnar crowd too.
And big place for children. Staff are helpful.
