Don’t buy there! It’s a trap for tourists! Very expensive! But unfortunately I’ve found out about it when bought same spices and oils in other places three times cheaper
Tourist trap, avoid. Was part of the Cochin tour as a “must see spice market”only to find out the tuk tuk driver gets a reward for bringing tourists there to buy overpriced items. Staff were kind to start with only to turn rude if you don’t decide to purchase anything. Much better spice shops in Jew town.
Be careful as most Cochin shops have tie up with Auto drivers where they give them petrol if they get clients. So they praise a lot about these shops. Organic spice shop especially buy small quantities of perfume, spices and absolutely avoid at all cost the souvenir gift section.stupid underwear saleman selling artifacts without knowing spelling of it is the problem. Females are more sweet talking and shrewd but either ways be ready to be fleeced being tourist place. Don't say where u coming from cause the place u come from also gives them an idea of how much u can spend as prices are on their tongue and not labelled
Decent quality spices and oils but highly overpriced. Their natural perfumes collection is good. We bought very little from here at 20% bargained amount. They give commission to cab drivers and that's why cab drivers will praise this shop and make you buy from here. Luckily, we already knew Broadway prices where you can get spices and oil at half the price (or even lesser) from here.
I am not one to write “bad” reviews but I feel totally ripped off. I went in to buy some spices, sadly I didn’t think much of the price until I walked out and when I checked how much I was charged I couldn’t believe it. 40€ for a couple of small bags of spices! DO NOT BUY. I went back to make sure they hadn’t made a mistake and all I got back was how it was a “fair price”. Fuming!
If you like black tea with the smell of unwashed months, men's socks, feel free to buy it here. These nice, kind people will sell it to you for the price of good tea from Darjeeling.
Dishonest, in your face sales people. Short changed us, on top of massively over priced products. There's no need, but the local drivers will take you there, for a kickback. One driver admitted receiving 2 litres of fuel for each visit. Theres spices everywhere. Avoid this one.
Such a shame this place is grossly overpriced! It’s cheaper for me to buy all their products in the US (and they’d be completely sealed and ensured quality.) Their perfumes and oils were watered down and low quality. I’m not paying 1,000 rupees for fake eucalyptus oil
Very unhelpful staff that only want to sell products (some used) at triple the price you would find in Europe or America. Also sells tourist Jewellery and trinkets that has no reason to be there other than to show you they are ready and waiting to rip off foreigners.
Threatened to throw us out because we are Indians!
The beautiful array of spices on display attracted us to this shop. On entering, the salesgirl immediately came forward and asked us in a pushy tone, "are you going to buy something or are you just going to waste my time? " Taken aback, we said we want to browse before we decide. Her demeanour became very rude and told us that most of their customers are foreigners as only they can afford their prices. May I know who made her the authority on what I can afford? Even our tolerant attempt to tell the sales people that this is no way to treat customers, and that they'll only lose potential customers was met with strong resistance. Terrible experience!
Horrible experience. We came to buy sandalwood oil there and they sold us a fake one. We went back there to return it and all the stuff was claiming it was not from their store and it was not their staff who sold it to us. We felt cheated and dissapointed by unwillingness of all the staff to admit their fraud. Never ever go there!
DO NOT BUY HERE! They sell adulterated essential oils/perfumes. When we went back to tell him he gave us a false product we were shouted at and treated rudely by all staff members, Even though we were returning customers until today. There are many nice spice shops in Fort Cochin worth spending money in, but stay away from this one!
最悪です。クレジットカードで2回も支払いされていました。絶対行かないでください。 ゼロです。 Please do not go absolutely. This place is an evil shop. I was paid twice by credit. It is a fraud. This an evil shop should retreat from Kochi.
STAY AWAY! The store sells spices, tea & local produce at ridiculously high (the highest rates in the entire state of Kerala, I have seen till date). Products that cost 100 odd rupees in supermarkets, costs 1500 here. Tea costing 250 elsewhere, costs 2800 here. Even over-the-top airport and luxury hotel stores look like uber cheap discount stores compared to rates here. After I got shocked by the ridiculous prices (I am a native of Kochi & is aware of the local rates), I rang up friends familiar with stores around Fort Kochi, who informed me how this store had gained notoriety as the worst rip off in the whole of Kochi. As soon as the staff realised I was discussing the price over the phone, their mood changed for the worse. I almost ran from the place. I noticed a couple ask for a refund (after realising how badly they got burnt). I saw the once friendly ladies (staff) gang up, surround the two customers and go on an all out offensive. They have made the visit of many to Fort Kochi so memorable, they did not want to return
